Chapter 130: Chapter 130: As Long as You’re Happy

He was tempted to give Fifth Six Seven a quick lesson.

’A straight path between two points isn’t a line; it’s a line segment.’

’One with a single endpoint is a ray.’

’And only something with no ends at all is a true line.’

’Then again, with this guy’s IQ, the fact that he even knows what a line is must be a gift from the god of mathematics. Trying to get him to understand the difference between a line, a ray, and a line segment was probably asking too much.’

"So, you just flew straight in the direction I pointed you, and you just... kept flying until you reached the Imperial City?"

Fifth Six Seven nodded. "Of course. You think I’d make a turn or something? If I did, I wouldn’t have made it to the Imperial City, right?"

Su Han: "..."

’You really have no clue whether you turned or not, do you?’

"Since you’re not lost again, why did you contact me?"

Hearing Su Han’s words, Fifth Six Seven finally remembered he had called for a reason.

"Yi, I just got to the Imperial City and saw wanted posters everywhere. It looks like they’re for an assassin named Yi Ersan."

"Have you already made an attempt on that Crown Prince, Su Han?"

Su Han nodded. "Yep, but I failed."

Fifth Six Seven grunted. "Then, about the information on Su Han..."

"You want to share it, right?"

"Yes! That’s it! Sharing! As allies, we should be sharing information."

"That’s right!" Su Han nodded. "I’ll tell you everything I know about the Crown Prince."

"And when you learn anything new, you should let me know, too."

Fifth Six Seven thumped his chest in assurance. "No problem. Of course!"

Su Han suppressed a laugh and briefly shared some information about himself.

"This Crown Prince Su just had his sixteenth birthday. According to reliable sources, he never cultivated a day in his life before he turned sixteen."

"Huh?"

Fifth Six Seven froze for a moment, then his face lit up with ecstasy. "For real?"

"It’s the absolute truth. I stake my honor on its reliability."

"Excellent!"

Fifth Six Seven’s voice was filled with glee. "It’s great that he hasn’t cultivated! With no cultivation base, the assassination will be much easier."

"Mm."

Su Han was noncommittal. ’Whatever makes you happy.’

"Yi, is there anything else?"

"Yes."

Su Han nodded. "He currently lives in the Emperor’s Palace, right next to the main Imperial Palace. He’s always accompanied by a trusted servant named Su Xiao’Er."

"Su Xiao’Er?"

Fifth Six Seven muttered to himself, "Why does that name sound so familiar?"

"Familiar?" Su Han thought for a moment. "Maybe you’ve heard it somewhere before."

Fifth Six Seven nodded, thought for a moment, and then suddenly slapped his thigh. "I remember now! Yi, that servant of yours—isn’t his name Su Xiao’Er?"

Su Han: "..."

’What?!’

’I never once said Su Xiao’Er’s name in front of him!’

"No, you must have misheard!"

"I’m sure of it. I heard that old man who tied me up... that old gentleman call him that."

"Then you really did mishear. The old gentleman you’re talking about is Wu, and that servant is his son."

"He must have been calling him Xiaowu. You just got it mixed up."

Fifth Six Seven was skeptical. "Really?"

Su Han nodded. "I, Yi Ersan, swear on my honor. If I’m lying to you, may Yi Ersan only have boyfriends for the rest of his life!"

"Hiss..." Fifth Six Seven felt a chill run down his spine, and his butthole clenched. "That’s a harsh oath."

"Alright, I believe you!"

"Yi, do you have any other intel?"

Su Han shook his head. "That’s it. That’s all I know."

"Alright then. Thanks, Yi. When I get any new developments on my end, I’ll share them with you too."

With that, Fifth Six Seven moved to end the call.

"Wait!"

Su Han quickly stopped him. "We can share something right now. First off, about this assassination mission, do you know who issued it?"

Fifth Six Seven shook his head. "Yi, you said you were an amateur assassin, and it looks like you really are."

"We assassins just take the jobs. We never go snooping around to find out who issued them."

"Besides... the Assassin’s Alliance would never reveal the client’s information anyway."

"I see..."

There was a hint of disappointment in Su Han’s voice. Fifth Six Seven asked curiously, "Yi, you want to know the client’s identity?"

Su Han quickly denied it. "No, of course I’ll follow the rules. I’m just curious what kind of person has such deep pockets that a single job has mobilized the entire Assassin’s Alliance."

Fifth Six Seven shook his head. "I don’t know either, but I heard the mission originally came from the Central State."

"The Central State?"

Su Han nodded, making a mental note of it.

"Yeah. They say it was first issued in the Central State, but then, for some reason, assassins from the Assassin’s Alliances all over Jiuzhou received this open contract."

"Mm, I see."

Su Han nodded. "You should also keep an eye out for news about other assassins."

"Since we’re working together, all the other assassins are our competition."

"If you hear anything about them, you should let me know. We don’t want them to beat us to the punch."

Fifth Six Seven nodded. "Right, I’ll keep an eye out!"

"Okay, that’s all for now."

As he was about to end the call, Su Han suddenly remembered this guy was in the Imperial City and asked offhandedly, "By the way, since you’re in the Imperial City, have you found a place to stay yet?"

’In Su Han’s mind, assassins were creatures that moved through the shadows, popping out of nowhere to strike you down.’

’If the first strike failed, they would retreat a thousand miles.’

’Therefore, an assassin’s hideout should be extremely secret.’

’If I knew this guy’s hideout, I could probably use it to track down other assassins.’

"A hideout? The place I’m staying at now... I think it’s called the Natural Residence."

Su Han: "..."

He nearly choked on his own spit. It took him a long moment to keep himself from spraying it everywhere. Su Han asked uncertainly, "You said... what was it called?"

"The Natural Residence!"

"The Natural Residence? The one from the saying, ’A guest at Natural Residence is a guest residing in the heavens’?"

"Oh... Yi, you know this place too? I saw that the environment was really nice, and I heard the food is one-of-a-kind, so I moved in."

Su Han: "....."

’As an assassin, you didn’t even bother to ask around before moving right into a club opened by your assassination target.’

’Is that really a good idea?’

’What happened to the sacred code of the assassin? Did you drop it somewhere on one of the roads you got lost on?’

"What’s wrong? Is there a problem with the Natural Residence?"

Su Han shook his head. "No! Not at all! The Natural Residence... is great. All their food is delicious. Fifth Brother, you should try a few more dishes."

"I was planning on it even if you hadn’t said anything. I’m going to try every delicacy at the Natural Residence before I start the mission."

Su Han: ".....Right."

After that brief acknowledgment, he cut the connection.

Staring at the Communication Jade Talisman in his hand, Su Han let out a long sigh.

’What could he possibly say, having met an assassin like this?’

’All he could say was—whatever makes you happy.’

’If all the assassins coming to kill him were this idiotic... he’d have no trouble wiping them all out!’
