Just like the time she entered the 【Dream Conference】, Janna’s consciousness was once again enveloped by sudden sleepiness, as if her very soul had fallen into the clouds—gradually sinking into slumber.

“Go ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍back—”

It wasn’t until the first ray of morning sunlight touched her face that the slumbering Janna slowly opened her eyes again.

“I ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍actually fell asleep——”

Seeing that she had broken her habit of not sleeping for years and had dozed off directly beside the workbench, Janna couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed.

“To be fair, deep sleep really is much more comfortable than deep meditation.”

After stretching with a long-overdue yawn, Janna felt her entire body refreshed and full of energy, and a satisfied smile unconsciously appeared on her lips.

However, when she glanced at the mechanical clock and saw that class time was near, her smile vanished. She quickly stepped into the washroom, freshened up, then cast a 【Cleaning Spell】 on her wizard robe, smoothing out the creases formed during sleep.

“I remember—the first class today should be 《Otherworldly Biology》.”

After another quick look at the mechanical clock, Janna swiftly took out her 《Otherworldly Biology》 textbook, lit the spiritual candle beside it, and began chanting the ritual incantation.

“All-knowing and almighty Lord of Wisdom and Knowledge, You are the Light of Intelligence, the Guardian of Books and Knowledge among the Dust of Time. Please hear my devout call and open for me the door that leads into the World Inside the Book——”

Whirr—— The pages of the book fluttered rapidly. Under Janna’s somewhat hasty preparation, she finally managed to enter the 【World Inside the Book】 at the last second before eight o’clock. Just like in 《Law and Plane Studies》, the wizard who taught 《Otherworldly Biology》 was also a formally recognized wizard who had received his “Title” from the White Tower only a few years ago—making him a senior to Janna’s generation of new apprentices.

“By the scent, shape, even the texture and sheen of excrement, you can determine the health condition of a juvenile magical beast.

When you encounter droppings like these, you need to be on alert——”

As he spoke, the man standing on the podium—dressed in black leather armor, tall and muscular, with black scale-like patches resembling serpent scales near his eyes and a short black horn about half a finger long growing from his forehead—held up different shapes of excrement, showing them to the wizard apprentices below as he explained.

“Janna, tell me—what symptom corresponds to this kind of excrement?”

Originally focused on taking notes, Janna looked up briefly at the specimen in Bosain–Blackwing’s hand before standing and answering,

“This kind of excrement is a layered type, indicating poor digestion and nutrient absorption in the beast.”

“Mm, a correct answer. Next time, you don’t need to stand to reply.”

“Yes, Professor Bosain.”

After replying, Janna sat back down and continued writing the notes she hadn’t finished.

“Gawen, how about this one?”

Hearing that the next person called upon was her “fellow countryman” Gawen–Tull, Janna paused in her writing and turned to look toward the back row.

“This one’s a thin, elongated stool, which suggests the beast has mild indigestion or intestinal constriction.”

“Mm, also correct.”

After listening to Gawen–Tull’s answer, Bosain–Blackwing nodded approvingly, then took out another sample of excrement, scanning the room for his next unlucky respondent—though many apprentices avoided his gaze.

“Professor Bosain really does love asking questions,” Janna thought with a quiet sigh.

Having nearly finished all her notes for this class, Janna glanced up at Bosain–Blackwing, who was still tirelessly calling on students to answer questions.

Bosain–Blackwing, a Dragon Vein Sorcerer possessing dragon bloodline, was said to have bloodline origins traceable all the way back to the ancient dragon clans—a bloodline both exceedingly rare and powerful.

His contracted dragonkin was a fully grown Black Dragon, both ferocious and unwaveringly loyal to Bosain–Blackwing.

“Normally, the relationship between a Dragon Vein Sorcerer and a dragon isn’t equal. Either the sorcerer serves the dragon, or the sorcerer must pay an immense price to establish a contract—and even then, it’s usually very one-sided.

For Professor Bosain to reverse this—to have a proud Black Dragon serve him—it must mean that, besides exceptional skill, his ancient dragon bloodline plays a key role.”

Watching Bosain–Blackwing still conducting impromptu questioning on the podium, Janna recalled what she had read in the library about Dragon Vein Sorcerers, and couldn’t help remembering the first time she ever met him.

A few months earlier, when she and Gawen–Tull had just entered the White Tower, they had once seen Bosain–Blackwing riding a Black Dragon through the outer forest—and at that time, they had almost been hit by that dragon.

Now that she thought back on it, Janna couldn’t help but feel a lingering chill.

If that Black Dragon had actually collided with them then, their internal organs might have been shattered on the spot.

As time passed, the two-and-a-half-hour class of 《Otherworldly Biology》 soon came to an end.

“That’s all for today’s lesson. Class dismissed.”

“Goodbye, Professor Bosain—”

As the scattered farewells echoed across the classroom, Janna’s consciousness withdrew from the 【World Inside the Book】 and returned to the 【Primary Material World】.

“Attending Professor Bosain’s class really does require full focus.”

In truth, attending Bosain–Blackwing’s class required not only concentration but also prior preparation.

Many of his questions came from content he hadn’t yet taught, so without advance study, students were easily caught off guard.

Of course, being unable to answer wasn’t the worst part—

Professor Bosain–Blackwing had a rule: if the same apprentice failed to answer his questions three times within one academic term, their participation grade for that semester would automatically drop to zero.

This rule was, unsurprisingly, extremely unfriendly to those wizard apprentices who disliked previewing their lessons.

“Hm? What’s this...?”

Just as Janna was preparing to spend the morning reviewing the first few chapters of 《Otherworldly Biology》, a sudden fluctuation came from her contract medium—instantly seizing her attention.

“This is Aph’s contract medium—”
