Sorry, Our Captain Is a True All-Rounder
Chapter 159: Return to the Capital Star
Chapter 159: Chapter 159: Return to the Capital Star
The group looked at Batulu. In their eyes, he had become a rich, capricious young master.
The kind with more money than sense.
Just then, a waiter and a team of robots began serving the most expensive and delicious dishes Yingxiong Restaurant had to offer. Perfect in color, aroma, and taste, they were also exquisitely plated and looked incredibly appetizing.
The group couldn’t take their eyes off the dishes. They had eaten and cooked their fair share of delicacies.
But this was the first time they had ever seen such novel dishes.
Unfamiliar vegetables, meats, and fish were served. The group sat there, their gazes fixed on the dishes as they studied them.
’When we get a chance, we’ll have to try making all of these dishes.’
Before long, all twelve dishes were on the table. The female manager stood to one side, offering a professional smile. "Please, enjoy your meal."
After the manager left, everyone held their chopsticks, but not a single person began to eat.
This meal was Batulu’s treat, so he should be the one to start.
With five pairs of eyes fixed on him, Batulu nervously began to eat. Once their host had made the first move, the other five no longer stood on ceremony.
They picked up their chopsticks and dug in, though fortunately, they still paid some mind to their table manners.
It wasn’t enough to cause them any great embarrassment.
"Captain Lin, why aren’t you guys scared of those mutant beasts at all?" Batulu ate elegantly and rather slowly, whereas the five of them, after their long training, never ate at a leisurely pace.
So, compared to Batulu, their eating style was rather coarse.
"Just think of them as animals," Lin Jingjing shared from her experience. "Think of them as ill-tempered, man-eating, aggressive animals. Then, your goal is to eliminate them."
"That way, you won’t be afraid anymore."
Feng He shook her head from the side. "That’s not right. You can think of them as a corpse you’re about to dissect. As long as you defeat it, that corpse will be yours."
"Don’t listen to them. Everyone has their own way of overcoming fear. When you have to face it, you’ll find your own way, too," Gu Kaiwen said seriously, looking up from his food to look at him.
Batulu listened to them, the hand holding his chopsticks pausing mid-air. He lowered his head and began to think.
Ever since he came back from Hong Fei Park, he’d been having nightmares every night.
In his dreams, he was devoured by that mutant beast, bite by agonizing bite. He would scream for help, but his surroundings were silent, and no one came to save him.
These nightmares had been going on for a very long time, but he didn’t dare tell his mother or the rest of his family.
The three of them were busy enough as it was. If they knew what he was going through, they would only have more to worry about.
Looking at the five people before him, Batulu pursed his lips. The hand holding his chopsticks slowly tightened its grip. After a long hesitation, he finally asked, "If, in my dreams, I’m being eaten by those mutant beasts... what should I do?"
He looked at the woman with a pleading gaze, the smile wiped from his face.
The pleasant atmosphere immediately turned somber. The table fell silent. No one answered him, but everyone’s gaze turned to Feng He.
’She was the doctor. She would know best about this sort of thing.’
Feng He put down her chopsticks, picked up a napkin to dab her mouth, and asked, "How long have you been having these symptoms?"
"Does it happen every night?"
Batulu answered in a small voice, "Since the night you rescued me... until now."
Hearing this, all eyes in the group fell on him. With so many people staring at him, Batulu shrank back, looking small, pitiful, and helpless.
’It’s been so long, and he still hasn’t gotten over it.’
As the others lamented inwardly, Feng He asked a question: "Hasn’t anyone given you psychological counseling?"
"Huh? I need counseling for that?" Batulu looked completely lost. ’Psychological counseling?’
’There was nothing of the sort.’
He shook his head honestly. No one had, in fact, given him any psychological counseling.
After the soldiers escorted him back, they just let him go home on his own. No one mentioned anything that had happened in Hong Fei Park.
He hadn’t either. Batulu hadn’t even told his family. In that enormous villa, there was only him, a single maid, and a robot. That was it.
And on the day he returned covered in blood, the only maid who cooked for him happened to be out, so no one knew what had happened.
So Batulu buried the incident in his heart and told no one.
But sometimes, the more you try to hide and suppress something, the more it turns into a personal demon.
For a moment, the group was at a loss for words. ’This kid really is... quite pitiful.’
Feng He sighed. ’Don’t people here care about these children’s mental health at all?’
’Still, this boy is surprisingly strong. He’s been having nightmares for so long he can’t sleep at night, to the point where he’s completely exhausted, yet he hasn’t said a single word about it to anyone.’
"Come here." Feng He beckoned to him. Batulu immediately jumped up from his seat and trotted over, sitting down in the empty chair beside her and looking at her with a sincere expression.
Feng He raised her hand and gently stroked his head. His hair was soft and pleasant to the touch.
She noticed the dark circles under his eyes; it was obvious he hadn’t been resting well.
"I’m going to sing a song for you. After you hear it, I want you to conquer that fear tonight. Don’t let it become your curse," Feng He said, continuing to pat his head as she began to sing.
The song lasted two minutes. After it was over, Batulu felt filled with a special kind of confidence.
"I can do this!"
"That’s right. You’re the strongest," Mo Xuan added a few words of encouragement from the side.
After the meal, Batulu presented each of them with a gift, specifically instructing them not to open it until they returned to their base.
He reminded them again and again, so the group gave up any thought of opening the gifts on the way back.
"Hope you have a good dream tonight," Lin Jingjing said with a wave, offering her sincere well wishes.
"Thank you!"
With nothing else to do, the group returned directly to the First Corps. They hadn’t been back long when Captain Li found his way to them, as if he’d sniffed them out.
Captain Li walked alongside them, looking refreshed and exceptionally cheerful.
Seeing him in such a good mood, the group grew curious.
"Captain Li, what are you so happy about?" Shi Feng was the first to ask.
"I’ll tell you all in a bit." Captain Li was humming a little tune, clearly delighted. "This is absolutely great news."
"How great?"
"You’ll know when you find out," Captain Li said, deliberately keeping them in suspense.
His little game worked, and the group’s curiosity was thoroughly piqued.
At the assembly area, the group stood in a line, their eyes fixed expectantly on Captain Li, all waiting for him to reveal the good news.
Captain Li stood before them, looked them over, and then said with a smile, "You’re all returning to Capital Star with me!"
’Returning to Capital Star?’
That was indeed fantastic news.
But what would they be doing on Capital Star?
"What are we going there to do?"
"In what capacity?"
"Who’s going to support us when we get there?"
