Chapter 1237 - 347: Preparing for the Next Time

The Mechanical Race indeed achieved a lot.

The appearance of the Destruction and the ruthless sweep across the Mechanical Race’s own planets left Chen Ming quite surprised.

They also indeed managed to clean up every planet that Chen Ming’s Insect Race had invaded, and completely destroyed those where no Insect Race was found.

The Mechanical Race wouldn’t gamble on the probability that the Insect Race hadn’t successfully parasitized.

Upon discovering the movements of the Mechanical Race’s Destruction, besides immediately initiating migration of the Insect Nest, Chen Ming also ordered all newly started breeding Insect Nests to deploy some Insect Race units to scatter and escape.

As long as a seed, an insect egg, is left behind, the entire Insect Nest can redevelop.

Therefore, even though the Destruction had already cleaned up the Insect Nests on all planets, not all of the Insect Race on those planets were killed.

There are still over forty planets with hiding Insect Race, and a few insect eggs still surviving.

Chen Ming still has a chance; it just requires more time compared to before.

We can say that the Mechanical Race digging out the Destruction and ruthlessly destroying several of its planets is a smart move.

After all, if the Destruction hadn’t been there, Chen Ming guarantees that in just two days, those Insect Race parasitizing underground could easily surface to cause trouble.

The difficulty of invading a planet from space as opposed to causing trouble on the ground is completely different.

The Mechanical Race’s logistics could be completely destroyed in a rather short time.

But now with the Insect Race being cleansed by the Destruction, Chen Ming will absolutely not dispatch the Insect Race until they develop to scale, to avoid provoking the Destruction again and giving the Insect Race another round of excitement.

Insect Race not yet in scale cannot damage the Mechanical Race’s ground facilities, but appearing prematurely before the Destruction does nothing and instead results in causing less damage to the Mechanical Race.

So although their actions may not completely solve the Insect Race problem, they can at least delay it for a few more days.

This gives the Mechanical Race a final chance to extract a wave of resources and a few more days to research possible techniques to eliminate the Insect Race still hiding underground.

Chen Ming indeed has no way to handle the current situation where the Insect Race’s operations are limited.

The Destruction can anytime come again, rendering any action essentially futile.

But in fact, there’s no need for him to solve it at all.

Because while the Insect Race fleet was attacking, Chen Ming did another thing.

In Chen Ming’s understanding, the entire universe is extremely abundant.

Not only are there planets with a wealth of exploitable resources, but there are also far more habitable planets than Chen Ming has previously known.

Yet, no matter how abundant a place may be, there are always barren corners, and near those rich planets are many planets without developmental value.

Of course, this developmental value is in terms of beings or non-beings other than the Insect Race.

For the Insect Race, as long as matter exists, the planet has value.

These planets deemed worthless by the Mechanical Race would not be specifically occupied by them, thus providing Chen Ming an infiltration opportunity.

Therefore, while the three waves of the Insect Race fleet Chen Ming dispatched targeted planets deemed valuable by the Mechanical Race, whether under development or garrisoned.

But every Insect Race fleet would deposit some insect eggs on planets deemed of no development value by the Mechanical Race as they passed by.

Just like the Black Mist Prosthetic did when it encountered the Destruction.

And this is the other thing Chen Ming did.

Even if every planet in the Mechanical Race’s logistical star systems had the Insect Race cleaned out, there are still many planets with Insect Race present, posing a constant threat to the Mechanical Race’s safety.

Chen Ming isn’t sure whether the Mechanical Race has realized or reacted to this fact.

He feels they should have detected it, but it doesn’t stop those insect eggs from growing on those "worthless" planets.

The Mechanical Race has the capacity to protect planets with resource development, but they absolutely lack the ability to protect every single planet.

If they truly were to sweep every planet with Insect Race, especially those barren planets with no means of detecting where the insect eggs have landed.

Then even using the Destruction until it smokes might not clear them up entirely.

This is the most frustrating aspect of Chen Ming’s Insect Race.

Chen Ming is even planning to frustrate the Mechanical Race again.

Chen Ming is still observing the Destruction Carrier within the phase space of the last treated star system through some remaining Iron Atoms.

This mother ship cannot stay in phase space forever; it will eventually return to normal space and have to stop somewhere.

Its Radiant Energy Coil can be replaced, but not all of its facilities can be replaced; it surely requires maintenance.

Chen Ming just silently watches this Destruction Carrier.

Finally, after the mother ship dealt with the last planet that hadn’t found an Insect Nest, it activated the Teleportation Engine.

Ships within phase space can also bring along ships in normal space when activating the Teleportation Engine.

Thus the mother ship also conveniently took away the Mechanical Race within the star system, migrating with lots of facilities and resources since the planets were destroyed.

The star system was left only with debris from the destroyed planets.
