“Stacey’s boyfriend? Stacey who?” Merle asked in confusion before she took a sip of her drink.

“Stacey Nosferatu, you know the girl we helped Renne try to kill in the past,” Tierney replied, causing Merle to laugh. “Seriously? That quarter-brood trash actually managed to find a boyfriend? Who’d be lame enough to want to date her?”

“The same lame guy dating Diva Lorelie,” Tierney replied, causing Merle to gape and say, “Huh?”

“You heard me? Apparently he was already dating Stacey, and Diva Lorelie joined their relationship, but that’s not the problem. Somehow they all found out what we did to Stacey back then and are out for revenge; her boyfriend even threatened the progenitor.”

“So her boyfriend's mad as well as sad? He could learn a thing or two from my boyfriend.” Merle said with a chuckle.

“I know what you're thinking because I thought the same thing initially: who’d be stupid enough to threaten a progenitor?” Tierney replied with clear concern. “The answer to that is someone with access to planetary annihilation weapons.”

“WHAT!” Merle shouted and, for the first time, showed actual alarm.

“Oh, so now you're taking this seriously,” Tierney replied while rolling her eyes. “That’s right, someone who could easily destroy Aqua Primus with a single weapon is after our heads, and he’s on the same planet as you. They're currently staying at the former Watersphere pro player Muriel’s house, so GET YOUR FAT ASS MOVING AND GET OFF PLANET NOW! THERE WAS A REASON DADA CALLED US HOME, AND THIS IS IT!”

“Right, right,” Merle said with clear panic on her face now as she quickly ended the call and began to hurriedly get dressed before dashing out the hotel room door without bothering about her stuff or her boyfriend.

Adam awoke to find that both Revi and Tephe were cuddled up on either side of him peacefully. After Revi had offered to turn him, the pair had gone for several more rounds before Tephe had finally awoken and joined in the fun again. Only in the early hours of the morning did the three of them fall asleep.

After carefully extracting himself from between them, Adam headed for the shower, where he washed up before throwing on his clothes from last night and heading back towards his own room.

As he did so, he happened to see Muriel sitting in the lounge and so greeted her with a “Good morning.”

Muriel jumped at the greeting before turning back and saying, “Oh, morning.”

“You ok?” Adam asked as he thought her reaction was strange and the way she was now looking at him was also weird. It was almost as if she was trying to find something within him.

“Yes, yes, sorry, just lost in thought,” Muriel replied before adding. “There's some breakfast in the kitchen.”

“Great, I just need to go change into a new set of clothes first,” Adam said with a smile before he continued on his way while Muriel followed him with her eyes. {I wonder what that's about?}

As he did, he found Stacey curled up on his bed, asleep, causing him to wonder, {What’s she doing here? Normally she’d sleep with Lorelie if I was spending the night with Rowena. Perhaps it’s because Lorelie refused to put out because of her punishment?}

Choosing not to wake her, Adam quietly moved around the room and got dressed. Only as he was about to leave the room and grab some breakfast did Spector suddenly speak up.

[NOTICE: The individual named Merle Nosferatu has just left her hotel under suspicious circumstances.]

{What sort of suspicious circumstances?}

[Security footage shows that she left in a hurry with clothes that appear to have been thrown on at the last minute. Also, she is alone without her friends, and she appears to be heading towards the orbital elevator without any luggage. I surmise that someone tipped her off about you being here, and now she is fleeing.]

{Fuck! Deploy Spector Unit Five to pick us up.} Adam thought before moving back towards the bed and shaking Stacey while saying, “Stace, Stace, wake up, Stace, she's making a run for it.”

[Affirmative. Deploying now.]

“Five more minutes,” Stacey mumbled before reaching out and pulling Adam into her embrace while giggling. “Then we can have all the morning sex you want.”

“No, Stacey, it’s Merle; she knows we're here and is making a run for it,” Adam replied while trying to pry her off him; however, his words seemed to do the trick as her eyes shot open and she asked, “What?”

“Merle Nosferatu just left her hotel room in a hurry and is heading for the orbital elevator; it looks like she knows we're here and is making a run for it,” Adam repeated.

“Oh, hell nah,” Stacey said as she jumped out of bed before dashing out of the room while saying. “I’m gonna go get changed and grab my blaster.”

As she did, Adam heard Muriel ask in surprise, “What's wrong?”

“That Merle Nosferatu from the other night appears to be making a run for it,” Adam explained as he left the room, only for Rowena to suddenly appear from the kitchen with Eekath and Kasumi, asking, “Is that true?”

“That’s what Spector seems to think,” Adam replied.

“I’ll go get ready,” Rowena said before turning back to her own room, but stopped as Adam said, “No!”

“What?” Rowena asked as all the women looked at him in surprise.

“No, Rowena. You can’t be involved in this,” Adam explained. “You're a member of the Nosferatu family, and you can’t be directly linked to the murder of one of its members. Stacey has already cut ties with them, while I have no connection to them besides the two of you. This is something you should leave to us.”

“He’s right, Row,” Erkath said as she placed a hand on her shoulder. “You can’t be seen getting involved in this, as it could very well spark an internal conflict within the Nosferatu family.

Adam making an enemy out of the family is one thing, but you are well-liked by much of the Nosferatu family; haven't some even spoken about how they wished you were family head in the past? If you were to directly get involved in the murder of two prominent family members' children, it may very well create an internal family civil war.”

“I’m aware of that,” Rowena retorted. “But as soon as Stacey kills Rene and I declare my support for her actions, such an internal conflict will be inevitable.”

“Then use the time before that happens to secretly grow your support in the family while helping Adam grow his own influence and power base. As his lover, his influence and power are also yours, and you can use those when the time comes to clash with Asema Nosferatu,” Erkath advised.

“I’m ready,” Stacey said as she hurried up to Adam, who nodded before asking, “Spector?”

“Spector Unit Five now on approach, ETA is four seconds,” Spector replied through the house's intercom before Spector Unit Five suddenly decloaked near the pool and touched down.

“We’re going,” Adam said as he and Stacey ran out of the house.

“Good luck,” Lorelie called while Rowena watched on with mixed feelings.

“What’s going on?” Tephe asked in a drowsy tone as she and Revi emerged from the latter's bedroom just in time to see Spector Unit Five take off.

Tierney Nosferatu disembarked the shuttle, which had just landed at her family's home, before quickly heading into the house.

“Welcome back, Miss Tierney,” her family's butler said with a polite bow.

“Thank you. Is my father home?” Tierney asked, to which the butler replied. “The master is in his study.”

Tierney merely nodded in response before quickly heading towards her father's study while thinking, {That idiot sister of mine, I knew her rebellious attitude would get her into trouble one day.}

As she reached the study door, she knocked and waited for her father's voice to say, “Enter,” before proceeding inside.

Alaric Nosferatu looked up from his work before nodding and saying, “Ah, Tierney, good you've returned; now we just have to wait on Merle.”

“There’s an issue with that, father,” Tierney replied in concern, causing Alaric to sigh and say, “Let me guess, she’s decided to ignore my commands again.”

“Worse, she happens to be on the same planet as Stacey and her boyfriend.”

“Can we make it in time?” Stacey asked nervously from the co-pilot seat.

“Merle Nosferatu has just boarded the orbital elevator, and so interception should indeed be possible,” Spector replied before adding. “Launching…”

“NO!” Adam said loudly, cutting her off. “No stream; this is personal for Stacey, so we’re not streaming this.”

Stacey shot Adam a grateful look while Spector stayed quiet for a few moments before finally saying, “Affirmative.”
