Echidna’s claws closed around his wrist.

"Stop."

The word hit like a wall. Silas’s mouth lifted from her, and she stared down at him, her golden eyes flat, jaw set, and her breath the only thing she couldn’t control.

"I said stop."

He should have felt it take her. He’d felt it take everyone- Anna’s sudden hunger, Chloe’s stillness, Gromda’s runes burning red. But Echidna looked at him like the system was a rumor she hadn’t bothered to verify.

"You’re resisting."

"I am the Mother of Monsters." Her voice shook only at the edges. "Your little magic does not command me."

Silas blinked. The system had never failed. Not once.

"Good."

Her eyes widened. "Good?"

"Fighting is more fun."

He ducked before her tail could find his throat.

The water exploded. She lunged- claws and horns and fury- and he caught her wrists, her momentum driving them both under. Steam swallowed them, bubbles- the shock of heat and the slick press of her body.

They surfaced gasping.

Her golden eyes were wild now- alive, not charmed.

"You-"

"I’m not stopping." He pulled her close. "And you’re not really telling me to."

Her mouth opened and closed- the arrogance warred with something younger, something she’d never had to name.

"Kiss me," she demanded. "Prove you’re not afraid."

He kissed her.

It was not gentle. He kissed her as if she’d asked for proof, and she bit him, and he bit back, and the water sloshed around them.

Anna’s hand found him beneath the surface.

Her fingers wrapped around his cock, slick, warm, sure- and Silas’s kiss broke on a groan. Echidna’s eyes snapped open. She saw Anna’s dark head bent near his hip, and something possessive flared across her face.

"Mine," she hissed.

"Yours?" Anna smirked competitively and licked.

Chloe rose from the water behind Echidna, silent as winter. Her pale hands settled on the Mother of Monsters’ shoulders, and Echidna flinched- not from threat, but from cold.

"You’re warm," Chloe murmured. "He does that."

"I am not-"

Chloe kissed the junction of her neck and shoulder.

Echidna’s protest died in her throat.

Gromda came up behind Silas, a wall of wet muscle and red light. Her arms locked around his chest, hauling him back against her, and her mouth found his ear.

"You started this. Now you finish it."

Her hand joined Anna’s.

Two sets of fingers on his cock. Anna’s tongue sliding down the shaft while Gromda’s thumb dragged across the head, and Silas’s head fell back against her shoulder, a sound torn out of him.

Echidna watched it happen.

Watched Anna take him into her mouth. Watched Gromda stroke what her lips couldn’t hold. Watched Chloe’s mouth trail down her collarbone, and the heat she’d been crushing under her will began to leak through the cracks.

"No," she whispered.

Chloe’s hand slipped beneath the water, found the black fabric, and pulled it aside.

"Your body says yes."

Echidna’s hips bucked against Chloe’s fingers, that broken cry again, louder now, ricocheting off the stone walls.

"Don’t. I will not-"

Chloe’s fingers found her clit, and the sentence drowned.

Silas watched Echidna fall apart from across the water, head thrown back, claws scrabbling at the stone rim, her arrogance crumbling into something raw and hungry and utterly new. The charm hadn’t broken her. Chloe’s fingers were doing that.

"You fought the charm," he managed, Gromda’s hand still working him. "You lost to a girl with cold hands."

"Shut... up..."

Chloe curled her fingers.

Echidna’s back arched. Her horns caught the light, and her cry rolled across the water, surrender and fury and a pleasure she’d never once imagined.

"Please," she said.

The word stopped everyone. The Mother of Monsters... begging.

Silas pulled free of Anna’s mouth and Gromda’s grip. He crossed the water, steam curling around his shoulders, and took Echidna’s face in both hands.

"Say it again."

Her golden eyes blazed, proud, defiant, and shattered.

"Please."

He kissed her softly—a reward.

"Then let go."

Her tail coiled around his waist, and she let go.

Chloe’s fingers moved. Anna’s mouth returned to him. Gromda pressed against his back, runes burning red against his skin, teeth at his shoulder. And Echidna, the creature older than the oceans, came apart in the water with his name on her lips.

She writhed.

That was the only word for it. Her whole body shuddered against the stone, hips rolling against Chloe’s hand, claws gouging the ledge, her mouth open on sounds she’d never made. The charm had wanted her. But this... this was her choosing to fall.

The water went still.

Her chest heaved. Steam curled off her shoulders. When her eyes opened, they were molten and dazed and fixed on him.

"You," she breathed, "are dangerous."

He smiled. "Good luck surviving."

Echidna’s eyes snapped open furiously.

"I felt that," she hissed.

Silas blinked. "Good?"

"It was not yours to give." She shoved off the stone ledge, water streaming from her scales. "Your charm. I am the Mother of Monsters. I am older than your oceans, and I do not..."

Her hips twitched once, involuntarily.

The system flashed before Silas’s eyes.

[Anomaly detected!]

[Charm and Lust: resisted]

[Resistance strength: 100%.]

[Target is overriding activation through will alone.]

Silas stared at the panel. The system had never failed. Not once from what he knew, and this woman was simply... refusing.

[Warning: sustained resistance may purge the effect entirely.]

He should have been worried, but he grinned instead.

"You’re fighting it."

"I am ignoring it." Her claws found the stone rim. "You are warm, and you kiss well, and your mouth did..." She stopped and swallowed. "It changes nothing."

Behind her, Chloe’s phone rose. The tinny game resumed. Her blue eyes never left Echidna.

Gromda sank lower in the water. Her runes smoldered from crimson to green. Her grin could have split her face.

Anna’s hand found Silas’s thigh beneath the surface. Her fingers walked higher.

"You heard her," Silas said softly. "She said my mouth did..."

"I said nothing."

"You stopped mid-sentence. That’s a confession."

Her tail lashed the water. "You will not twist my words."

"I don’t need to. Your body’s doing it for me."

Because it was. Her thighs were pressed together under the surface, her nipples had gone hard against the black halter, and her breath kept snagging, as if she was fighting the air itself.
