Lyra had been more than a kilometer from Neroth, just at the edge of the energy storm. Even there, the wind snapped her clothes around her.

She barely noticed.

"What skill was that?" she murmured. "How can it be that strong?"

Was Cassian a hidden Warbound Lord too?

Seraphine might have gained the upper hand with the Third Star open. Killing a Divine Scion in one blow would have been another matter entirely.

The Third Star...

Lyra suddenly understood. Or thought she did.

"Seven-Star Release! Cassian, how many Stars did you open?"

She looked up just in time to see him drink a bottle of clear green liquid.

That settled it.

It also eased her worry. Seraphine had just sent her a bottle of the same thing. Life Water, a precious healing medicine.

Lyra let out a long breath.

Once the shock passed, relief flooded in. She had been willing to die. Living was still far better.

"Lyra! I might as well finish the rescue. Leave the rest of these enemies to me."

Seeing her recover, Cassian raised his voice.

"You must be tired after being chased for so long. Just watch our backs."

Lyra rolled her eyes.

Every Legendary troop killed meant millions of Battle Essence. He clearly wanted all of it.

He had also just saved her life and spent a precious bottle of Life Water doing it. She could hardly complain.

She ordered her troops to hold, ready to help if his force ran into trouble. She wanted to see what the five companions he had brought could do.

Cassian turned to Celia and the others.

"The twelve Tyrants are mine. You take the Epic Heroes and troops. Don’t leave any alive."

"Yes, Lord!"

Heavy impacts shook the battlefield.

Even at half strength, each of Cassian’s punches killed a Tyrant outright. Celia and the others cut through the Epics with equal ease.

Lyra could hardly look away.

"Those Dragons in human form are even stronger than I expected. Did he buy them Epic Glory sets?"

Her gaze moved to Celia’s sword.

"She kills Epic Heroes so easily. Is she Legendary?"

Then she saw a wind blade cut down a Soulhunter.

"And the mage... does she have Wind Will?"

Neither Celia nor Liora was using her full strength. Liora had deliberately chosen wind magic, one of her weaker schools. With her strength now, a single Blizzard would have finished these enemies.

Cassian had reminded his people often enough. They, too, had learned to hold something back.

Then Cassian drank another bottle of Life Water.

Lyra’s eye twitched.

"That makes three. How am I ever going to repay this?"

Where had he found so much Life Water? Had he discovered some hidden ruin left by the Elves?

The enemies scattered, but it did them no good. Within a few minutes, every one of them was dead.

Lyra stepped forward solemnly.

"Thank you for saving my life, Commander. Whatever you ask in the future, Seraphine will go through fire for you."

Cassian was about to wave off her thanks when he caught the name.

"Seraphine will?"

"She’s my older cousin," Lyra said with a smile. "What else is family for?"

Cassian laughed. For all their bickering, the Valcrests were close.

"Fair enough. I still have things to do. Be careful out here."

A little over ten seconds later, Liora finished the runes. The Teleport flashed, and the six of them vanished.

"He spends a few minutes killing a Divine Scion, takes a mountain of points and Battle Essence, then leaves." Lyra shook her head. "Why do I feel as though he came here to pick up supplies?"

Curious, she paid to locate him again.

"More than two thousand kilometers in one jump? Is that mage a Legendary Hero too?"

Cassian had killed several Legendary monsters that people knew about. A Hero Soul might well have dropped from one of them.

The more Lyra thought, the brighter her eyes grew.

A man that strong was certainly worth getting to know. She could see why Seraphine had wanted to introduce them.

"But..."

She looked down at her flat chest, then sighed.

"He seems to prefer Nessa’s type."

——

Lyra told the group she was safe. Cheers filled the Channel, though she gave few details of the rescue.

[Seraphine Valcrest: I’m a few years older than Cassian, but from now on, he’s my big brother.]

[Darian Frost: How did you do it, Cassian? Some kind of Teleport skill?]

[Nessa Fenwick: Cassian can do anything. All you have to do is trust him!]

[Elara Vayne: Where is he? He wasn’t hurt, was he?]

Cassian had not opened the Channel. He could imagine the astonishment and praise. He had heard plenty of both already.

"Seven minutes there and back. Seventy million Battle Essence and about five hundred and twenty thousand Glory Points."

A pity there were so few Lords on the second floor, and fewer Divine Scions still. Otherwise, staying here a while longer might have been worthwhile.

Killing Neroth with one punch had made him much more confident about the Gold Battle Name.

The Scion everyone feared, the Lord some had called the strongest in the battlefield, had only 5.22 million Glory Points.

There might be others hiding their strength. Cassian doubted they would be far beyond Neroth.

Even so, the fight had shown him the strength of the higher races.

"His Physique in that battle form must have been around three thousand. Perhaps he had a whole Marches’ attribute rewards to himself, like me. Even Seraphine might not win against him alone."

A race in the top hundred deserved its place.

The final Teleport brought him back to the pillar where his force had gathered. He put his hand against the light without hesitation.

"Enter the third floor."

The pillar expanded, taking Cassian and his entire force with it.

When his feet touched solid ground again, he stood on the untouched third floor of Glory Battlefield.

"The power of death here..." Liora breathed.

She waved her staff. Dozens of Rare Dark Warriors climbed out of the ground.

"That was an ordinary Skeleton Summoning spell. It brought up Dark Warriors!"

Crystal Seven soon reported.

"Lord, there are huge numbers of Undead within a hundred kilometers. Four Epic monsters alone!"

"Good!"

Cassian was delighted at the density of the targets.

"Split up. We don’t have much time. Liora, take a spellcaster Maiden with you and use Teleport to hunt the Epic monsters and anything stronger. Don’t worry about spending Life Water."

"Yes, Lord!"

Crystal Eight directed her toward their first target. The two left by Teleport.

Cassian watched the others disperse.

"Only an hour left. Give me another day, and we could kill a thousand Epic monsters. Eight hundred, at least. Imagine the Troop Sigils and Hero Sigils. Never mind the equipment."

He enjoyed the thought for a moment, then opened the exchange list.

A quick glance made him laugh.

"Just as I thought. Legendary items, sealing items, Absorption Stones, Heavenwork Designs... Hmm?"

One entry caught his attention.

"Time-Space Farm. Legendary. One and a half million Glory Points. Should I get one? It would save a lot of space in the Domain."

The battlefield would give everyone time to exchange their points after settlement. He was in no hurry to buy anything now.

Without examining the other entries closely, he scrolled to the bottom. That was usually where the best things were.

He had only meant to look.

Then he saw the mysterious wheel in three colors, and his shock surpassed even Lyra’s a few minutes earlier.

"A Mythic Wheel?!"
