Chapter 767: Slime slime slime everywhere

The blood clouds that had been lazily raining death before suddenly condensed into a gigantic spiraling vortex. Crimson lightning flashed across the heavens as the pressure of Damon’s Dao core intensified.

Below him, the slimes began trembling violently.

Millions of small red bodies quivered at once, their gelatinous forms rippling uncontrollably as if some deep instinct inside them had just sensed the approach of extinction.

Damon slowly raised his hand. His Primordial Senses locked onto the underground node he had discovered moments ago. He could now clearly see the flow. Every few seconds, waves of bloodline energy converged deep beneath the slime ocean before spreading outward again through the colony like a pulse.

Damon’s eyes gleamed. His Dao core rotated faster.

The blood clouds above compressed tighter and tighter until a massive spear of condensed blood energy began forming inside the vortex. The weapon hummed with terrifying power, its surface crackling with violent lightning.

The surrounding slimes began panicking now. Across the endless field, the entire colony started moving. Billions of tiny bodies began flowing toward the distant mountains, instinctively trying to protect the underground core.

Damon laughed. "So you finally noticed?" He clenched his fist. The spear in the sky trembled. "Too late." With a single downward motion, he brought his arm crashing toward the ground.

The spear fell. It ripped through the sky like a falling star, tearing open the clouds as it descended toward the distant mountains. "The new version of my blood spear. Taste it bitch!"

The moment the spear struck the ground, a pillar of crimson light erupted into the sky as the earth split apart with a deafening roar. The ground collapsed inward, sending shockwaves racing across the slime ocean.

For a brief moment, the entire planet seemed to shudder. Every slime across the battlefield froze. Millions of tiny red bodies suddenly stopped moving at once.

Damon’s primordial senses flared again as he felt the energy network rupture beneath the surface. The flow of bloodline essence, once smooth and circulating, suddenly became chaotic.

Damon grinned slowly. "Well..." He flexed his fingers as fresh crimson energy gathered around him. "...let’s see what crawls out when the nest gets kicked."

The ground trembled. The massive crater Damon had created suddenly bulged upward. The earth cracked and then exploded. A mountain of red slime erupted from the depths.

Thousands of tons of gelatinous mass surged upward, twisting and compressing as if a living ocean had suddenly decided to stand up. The creature continued growing, absorbing nearby slimes as it rose.

Millions of smaller slimes were pulled toward it like iron filings toward a magnet. They melted into the giant body instantly. The creature grew larger and larger and larger.

Within seconds a colossal slime towered over the battlefield, its massive body stretching hundreds of meters into the air. Its surface churned like boiling lava, constantly absorbing the smaller slimes still flowing toward it from every direction. At the center of its translucent body, a dark crimson core pulsed slowly.

"Well... there you are."

The giant slime finally stabilized and leaned forward slightly. Its massive body rippled as two glowing crimson lights formed near the upper portion of the slime mass.

Eyes.

For the first time since Damon arrived on the planet... something actually looked back at him. The pressure in the air suddenly increased. The slime had intelligence, far more than what a slime should have.

A deep rumbling vibration echoed across the battlefield as the giant slime shifted its enormous body. More slimes rushed toward it, merging into its mass and increasing its size further.

"So you finally decided to stop hiding."

The colossal slime slowly lifted a massive tendril of gelatinous flesh, the limb thick enough to flatten mountains. The crimson core inside its body began glowing brighter.

Damon couldn’t help but become excited.

"That bloodline fragment..." His crimson aura erupted violently. "...is mine."

The colossal slime moved first. The massive tendril that had risen into the sky suddenly whipped downward like a falling mountain. The air screamed as the gigantic limb cut through it, the sheer weight of the creature turning the attack into a natural disaster.

Damon didn’t move. He simply looked up.

The tendril slammed down.

BOOM.

The ground collapsed, sending a shockwave tearing across the slime ocean. Entire sections of the field flattened instantly, thousands of slimes bursting apart like droplets of paint.

But Damon was no longer there.

A streak of crimson flashed through the air. He appeared hundreds of meters away, hovering calmly with his arms crossed.

"Slow," he said casually, not in the least affected by the shockwave that was more than enough to crush any other newly evolved B rank.

The giant slime’s surface rippled violently. The creature’s entire body surged again, more slimes flooding into it from every direction. Its size continued increasing, the massive crimson core inside glowing brighter with each absorbed body.

Damon narrowed his eyes. "Ah... so that’s your trick." This wasn’t just a hive organism. It was a self-repairing body. As long as slimes existed on the planet, the giant slime could keep growing and healing.

The colossal slime attacked again. This time dozens of tendrils erupted outward at once, each one moving like a living avalanche trying to crush Damon from every direction. The sky filled with writhing red limbs.

Damon’s Dao core spun violently. Crimson lightning exploded around his body as he vanished. The next instant he appeared directly in front of the giant slime’s massive body, only a few meters away from the glowing crimson core suspended inside the gelatinous mass.

The slime reacted instantly. The entire body compressed, trying to swallow him whole. But Damon only smiled as another spear of condensed crimson energy formed instantly in his palm. It radiated power far above the first one.

BOOM.

The lance tore through the slime’s body, vaporizing thousands of tons of gelatinous mass as it punched straight toward the core. The entire battlefield trembled as the creature recoiled violently. Its body exploded outward, spraying chunks of slime across the landscape.

The damaged body began repairing itself almost instantly as more slimes flooded into the giant mass from every direction but it was useless.

Damon was a lot faster. In that split second, he casually appeared right in front of the exposed core.
