SSS Awakening: Rise Of The Soul Sovereign!
Chapter 88: Alchemist
...
Aiden suppressed his excitement and picked up the exquisite set of master-level alchemy tools.
The moment he did, a system notification appeared before his eyes.
[Alderton’s Alchemy Workbench (Portable)]
[Quality: Epic]
[Effects:]
[Precision Control: Significantly increases the alchemy success rate by 20% and grants a chance to increase the quality of crafted potions.]
[Energy Affinity: The tools possess exceptional energy conductivity, allowing for more precise guidance and stabilization of energy reactions during the alchemy process.]
[Portable Space: The toolbox contains an internal storage space capable of holding a large quantity of categorized alchemy materials.]
[Master’s Mark: Potions crafted using these tools have an extremely low chance of being branded with "Alderton’s Mark," potentially granting unknown additional effects.]
Aiden’s eyes widened slightly. ’Epic-quality specialized alchemy tools!’
This was practically the equivalent of adding wings to a tiger.
With these tools, combined with his newly acquired Ancient Alchemist sub-class and Advanced Alchemy skill, his potion-crafting capabilities had already surpassed what most players at his current stage could achieve.
As long as he had sufficient materials, he could reliably produce potions that were far superior to the standard products currently available in the market.
"Sir Aiden, are... are you okay?" Silas’s concerned voice pulled him out of his thoughts.
The burly tank had been watching Aiden with some worry ever since the inheritance began. Moments ago, Aiden had been trembling violently while being enveloped in golden light.
Luna was also looking at him nervously. Aiden took a deep breath and slowly exhaled.
A smile he couldn’t completely suppress spread across his face. "I’m fine."
He raised the now-ordinary leather-bound notebook in one hand and the exquisite toolbox in the other.
"Not only am I fine, but we’ve also obtained the most valuable legacy this laboratory had to offer."
His eyes gleamed. "From today onward, I’m an Alchemist."
Aiden paused before continuing with a confident smile. "And from now on, our team’s potion supply is my responsibility."
He lightly tapped the toolbox. "With this inheritance, we can even use alchemy to exchange for resources and gold that would otherwise be extremely difficult to obtain."
Silas didn’t understand much about alchemy. But he understood two things perfectly.
Plenty of potions equals plenty of gold.
"Hahaha!"
Silas immediately broke into a wide grin. "That’s great! Sir Aiden, you really can do anything!"
Luna also looked at Aiden with undisguised admiration.
Every time she thought she had a good understanding of how capable he was, he would reveal yet another ability that completely exceeded her expectations.
Aiden didn’t waste any more time. He immediately opened the portable storage space inside the alchemy toolbox and began collecting the well-preserved materials scattered throughout the laboratory.
One material after another disappeared into the toolbox.
[Moonlight Moss]
[Dragonblood Wood Shards]
[Star-patterned Steel Ingots] — Small Quantity
[Elemental Dust]
[Void Amethyst Powder] — Trace Quantity
Aiden’s eyes grew brighter with every material he collected.
Many of these were materials he had previously purchased or painstakingly accumulated at considerable expense.
Yet here, they were simply sitting inside Alderton’s laboratory.
And the quality was excellent. Alderton’s personal collection was far richer than Aiden had initially imagined.
With these materials and the Alderton’s Alchemy Workbench, he could immediately begin producing potions.
There was no reason to wait. Aiden first selected the two most practical recipes from the knowledge he had inherited.
[Primary Health Potion (Enhanced).]
[Primary Mana Potion (Enhanced).]
He retrieved the required materials one by one. The miniature crucible was activated.
A faint magical glow illuminated its interior. Aiden carefully controlled the temperature using the workbench’s precision tools while simultaneously regulating the amount of each material and the timing of every energy infusion.
The entire process flowed naturally. There was no hesitation. No wasted movement.
It was as though he had already performed the procedure thousands of times.
That was the terrifying advantage of Alderton’s inheritance.
Aiden hadn’t merely learned the recipes. He had inherited the knowledge and experience required to execute them.
Combined with his Advanced Alchemy skill and the Epic-grade alchemy workbench, the entire process was astonishingly smooth.
A short while later— Three crimson bottles sat neatly on one side of the workbench.
Three azure bottles rested beside them. Their colors were noticeably richer than those of ordinary potions sold on the market, and faint energy fluctuations could be seen swirling within the liquid.
Then—
[You have successfully crafted [Primary Health Potion (Enhanced)] ×3!]
[You have successfully crafted [Primary Mana Potion (Enhanced)] ×3!]
[Alchemy Proficiency +15!]
Aiden picked up one of the crimson bottles and inspected its properties.
[Primary Health Potion (Enhanced)]
Effect: Immediately restores 200 HP upon consumption and gradually restores an additional 50 HP over the next 10 seconds.
Standard Version: Immediately restores 150 HP.
Aiden’s eyebrows rose. The enhanced version provided an immediate healing increase of roughly one-third compared to the standard potion.
And that wasn’t even counting the additional 50 HP of regeneration.
For the current stage of the game, this was an extremely valuable consumable.
Aiden’s gaze flickered.
The moment such a potion appeared on the black market, its price would almost certainly be several times higher than that of the standard version.
And unlike ordinary high-quality goods, the demand is going to be extraordinarily high...
There would simply never be enough to satisfy everyone who wanted one.
Aiden gently rolled the bottle between his fingers, feeling the warm energy radiating from the crimson liquid.
He then glanced at the exquisite alchemy tools before turning his attention inward.
The vast body of alchemical knowledge inherited from Alderton was still deeply embedded within his mind.
For the first time, Aiden truly understood the significance of what he had obtained.
The Devouring Soul Blade represented a terrifying new weapon and another path toward overwhelming combat power.
But Alderton’s laboratory had given him something different.
A foundation. A source of potions. A source of wealth. A source of resources.
And potentially, a means of establishing connections with powerful factions throughout the game world.
The value of this inheritance was no less significant than that of the Devouring Soul Blade.
Perhaps its importance would become even greater over time.
Aiden’s fingers tightened slightly around the potion bottle. A faint smile appeared on his face.
With the Alchemist class, Alderton’s knowledge, and the Epic-grade alchemy workbench, he now possessed a powerful logistical and financial advantage.
He had gained another weapon. It simply wasn’t one meant for the battlefield.
It was a weapon that could generate wealth, accumulate resources, build connections, and support everything else he intended to accomplish.
And eventually— It would help him build the foundation necessary to bring down the Dragon Sovereign.
