Chapter 230: Too Much Attention.

Jonas couldn’t help but chuckle when he heard Kael’s question.

"Straightforward as always. I like that."

There was a brief silence before Jonas continued, his tone becoming more businesslike.

"Well, we did make some preparations. We’ve arranged a house for you in the Tier Zero District. It’s much larger than your current apartment, and everything has already been paid for, so you won’t have to worry about the cost. You just need to move in."

He paused before continuing.

"You don’t have to worry, there are no strings attached. Consider it an additional payment from the Association."

Kael furrowed his brows as he thought about the offer.

It wasn’t a bad idea.

In fact, there had been a time when Kael had considered moving out of their current apartment. Once he started making money, buying a better place to live had naturally crossed his mind.

He eventually abandoned the idea because of Lyra. His sister seemed to have some attachment to their current apartment building, and since Kael understood the reason behind it, he had respected her wishes and never brought the subject up again.

But things had changed.

Their circumstances were completely different now.

Perhaps it was time to approach the subject with her once again.

Jonas seemed to mistake Kael’s hesitation for concern about something else.

"If you’re worried about your mother, we can also arrange to have her moved to a better medical facility in the Tier Zero District. She’ll receive better treatment and care there."

"No need for that," Kael replied. "I already have a plan for that. As for the house, though, I’ll think about it and get back to you."

"Okay. That’ll do for now."

"Yeah."

Kael was about to end the conversation when another thought crossed his mind.

"By the way, I have a question."

"Go ahead."

"How is the Association planning to deal with hosting the tournament and everything? I mean, the existence of the other safe zones is still being kept secret from the public."

There was a noticeable pause on the other end.

"We’ve decided to stop keeping it a secret," Jonas eventually replied. "I mean, we can’t withhold the information forever anyway."

Kael remained silent, listening.

"Of course, you can’t reveal what you know yet. We’re still keeping the details confined to a small group of individuals at the moment. We don’t plan to simply announce everything to the public all at once. The revelation will be subtle. We’ll provide enough hints for people to start putting the pieces together and let the rest take its natural course."

Kael nodded slightly upon hearing that.

Considering the reason the existence of the other safe zones had been kept secret in the first place, this probably was the best way to reveal them.

People had a difficult time dealing with sudden changes. If the Hunter Association suddenly announced that three other human civilizations existed beyond their borders, the revelation would inevitably cause shock, panic, and countless questions.

But if the truth was introduced gradually, allowing people to encounter pieces of information over time, the shock would be much smaller. The idea would slowly settle into their minds until something that once seemed impossible simply became another part of their reality.

"Got to go," Jonas said.

"Okay."

The call ended.

Kael stared at the phone screen for a few seconds before lowering it. His gaze then shifted toward the envelope and the documents that had come inside it.

A subtle aura of Destruction leaked from his body.

The moment it touched the envelope and its contents, the entire thing was erased.

There was no explosion or flash of light. The paper simply disintegrated into nothingness, every document and trace of information being destroyed completely until not even a fragment remained.

Kael then slowly got up from the bed.

It was already getting pretty late.

Lyra should be home soon, and considering she had gone shopping with Ezra, they had probably spent a good amount of time moving around. She would likely be exhausted by the time she returned.

Kael decided to make dinner before she came back.

He headed toward the kitchen and began preparing the meal.

Time passed quietly as he worked.

Eventually, the familiar sound of the apartment door opening reached his ears.

Kael glanced toward the entrance from the kitchen.

Lyra walked inside.

Just as he had expected, she looked completely exhausted. Her steps were slower than usual, and the moment she entered the apartment, she seemed to have lost whatever energy she had left.

Then her gaze shifted toward the kitchen.

Her eyes immediately brightened.

"What are you making? It smells delicious."

She began walking toward the kitchen, clearly drawn in by the smell, but Kael immediately turned around and looked at her.

"Eww. Go clean yourself first. You smell."

Lyra stopped in her tracks.

Her expression instantly turned into a pout.

"Like you. You’re the one who smells."

She turned around and began walking toward her room.

Kael couldn’t help chuckling as he watched her leave.

"What a good brother I am," he said loudly enough for her to hear. "I’m making food for you and making sure you take care of your hygiene too."

"Fuck you!"

"You’re welcome."

Kael turned his attention back to the food, still smiling to himself.

A short while later, he finished cooking.

He had prepared pasta with a side of salad, and once everything was ready, he carefully plated the food before setting the dishes on the kitchen table.

It wasn’t long before Lyra emerged from her room.

She looked much more refreshed after her shower as she walked toward the table and sat down. Whatever frustration she had been feeling earlier seemed to disappear the moment her eyes landed on the plate waiting in front of her.

"Looks delicious."

"Of course it does. I made it."

Lyra rolled her eyes.

She reached for her plate and immediately dug in.

Kael watched her for a moment before quietly returning his attention to his own meal.
