SSS Rank Class Awakening: My Army Has No End
Chapter 39: Fighting on His Own! Still Rampaging Through Dungeons!
Chapter 39: Chapter 39: Fighting on His Own! Still Rampaging Through Dungeons!
Lucas Bennett’s voice came through the communicator, dry and strained.
"He didn’t enter just one dungeon alone."
"He sent his Shadow Soldiers into multiple dungeons while entering another himself."
Inside the conference room, Captain Adrian Cross’s documents froze in midair.
He suspected he had misheard.
"What did you say?"
Lucas took a breath and repeated himself.
"Nathaniel summoned a large force of Shadow Soldiers. Then he divided them into separate units and sent them into different Hell-Difficulty dungeons."
"He entered another dungeon himself."
"Right now, multiple Hell-Difficulty dungeons are running simultaneously at Westmere Professional Center. Every single one is associated with Nathaniel Beaumont."
Adrian fell silent.
After several seconds, he finally spoke.
"His summons are entering dungeons independently?"
"Yes."
"Is that even possible?"
Lucas gave a bitter laugh.
"I thought it wasn’t possible either. But we tested it, Captain. The system accepted the first Shadow Soldier, and the others entered without any problems."
Adrian took a deep breath, trying to calm himself.
It didn’t work.
He had seen geniuses.
He had seen monsters.
And over the past several days, Nathaniel Beaumont had repeatedly pushed his expectations beyond their limits.
Adrian had almost grown accustomed to the young man’s astonishing progress.
Almost.
This time, however, he was stunned all over again.
A professional who could clear multiple dungeons simultaneously by dividing his summoned army into independent units?
Who would have thought of such a strategy?
No, that wasn’t quite right.
Even if someone had thought of it, most professionals couldn’t have carried it out.
An ordinary summoner’s creatures might be powerful enough to assist in battle, but clearing a Hell-Difficulty dungeon alone was another matter entirely. Such dungeons were designed to challenge experienced professionals and coordinated teams.
Nathaniel had somehow turned his summons into independent dungeon-clearing forces.
And he was doing it while clearing a dungeon himself.
Adrian placed the documents on his desk and leaned back in his chair. His expression was difficult to describe.
He had thought his assessment of Nathaniel was already high enough.
Apparently, it still wasn’t enough.
The young man wasn’t merely powerful.
He was quick-thinking, adaptable, and capable of discovering uses for his abilities that other professionals had never considered.
Adrian looked toward the window, his eyes filled with complicated emotions.
"Nathaniel Beaumont..."
"How many more surprises are you planning to give this city?"
On the other end of the communicator, Lucas remained silent.
He wanted to know the answer to that question just as badly.
...
Above Westmere
High above the clouds, the man in black and the gray-robed man watched the activity unfolding around Westmere Professional Center.
Both had been observing Nathaniel’s progress.
Now, both were silent.
For a long time, neither spoke.
Finally, the gray-robed man broke the silence.
"What exactly is he doing?"
The man in black answered evenly.
"Clearing multiple dungeons simultaneously."
The gray-robed man’s mouth twitched.
"I can see that."
He pointed toward the distant city.
"I’m asking whether this is even possible!"
The man in black didn’t answer immediately.
Because he had never seen anything like it either.
The gray-robed man studied the dungeon activity for several more seconds before suddenly turning toward his companion.
"You have summoning-type abilities, don’t you?"
"I do," the man in black replied.
"Have you ever tried sending your summons into dungeons without accompanying them?"
"No."
The gray-robed man stared at him.
"Neither have I. And I have summoning-type abilities too."
Silence returned.
Both men belonged to the High Command. They had experienced countless battles, explored dangerous dungeons, and studied a wide variety of professional classes.
Yet neither had ever considered using summons this way.
It wasn’t necessarily because the method was impossible.
They simply hadn’t thought of it.
In the minds of most professionals, summoned creatures were combat support. No matter how powerful a summon became, its primary purpose was to fight alongside its master.
Even summoners who commanded large forces usually deployed them around a single battlefield.
Nathaniel, however, had taken a completely different approach.
He had divided his Shadow Army into separate units and assigned each unit an independent dungeon.
His summons weren’t merely supporting his combat anymore.
They had become an entire network of dungeon-clearing forces.
And the most astonishing part was that the system had accepted the arrangement.
The gray-robed man finally let out a quiet laugh, his expression still tinged with disbelief.
"I think I understand why the Class Advancement Crystal assigned him such an outrageous trial."
The man in black continued watching the city without offering an objection.
The gray-robed man’s eyes gradually brightened.
"Think about it. He’s earning rewards from multiple dungeons at the same time."
He paused, considering the implications.
"Could he actually achieve an SSS-Rank advancement?"
The man in black remained silent for a moment.
Then he answered.
"It’s possible."
Only three words.
Yet the gray-robed man’s expression changed.
Coming from the man in black, those words carried considerable weight.
Not long ago, both of them had considered Nathaniel’s chance of reaching the highest evaluation almost nonexistent.
The requirement was absurd: five hundred million gold coins within twenty-four hours, without gifts or financial assistance.
Even a talented professional with access to powerful dungeons would struggle to meet that target.
But Nathaniel had found a way to multiply his earning opportunities without relying on other people.
He had discovered a method that neither of these experienced High Command members had ever considered.
The gray-robed man sighed.
"A genius."
His gaze remained fixed on Westmere.
"A genuine genius."
"I’m not talking only about his class or his talent for advancement. I’m talking about his ability to understand his own powers and develop ways to use them that nobody else has considered."
He paused.
"Someone like him, provided he survives long enough to reach his potential, could become terrifyingly powerful."
The man in black offered no disagreement.
Below them, Nathaniel was already fighting his way through another dungeon.
...
Crimson Blood Demon Nest: Hell Difficulty
Blood-red mist filled the air.
The damp ground was covered in dark crimson membranes, and the walls seemed to pulse like the flesh of some enormous living creature. Every so often, foul-smelling mucus seeped from the swollen surfaces and dripped onto the floor.
The entire dungeon felt like the inside of a monstrous organism.
After entering, Nathaniel didn’t immediately rush forward.
Instead, he closed his eyes and focused on the connection between himself and his Shadow Soldiers.
The connection was faint.
His soldiers had already entered different dungeons, and the distance between them made direct coordination impossible.
He could vaguely sense their presence as moving points of darkness, each progressing through a separate dungeon.
Their movements were swift.
None appeared to be standing still.
Nathaniel carefully examined the sensation.
I can sense their general direction and condition, but I can’t control them directly from here or issue additional commands.
That was an important discovery.
The soldiers could operate independently once given their instructions, but the connection wasn’t a substitute for unlimited remote control.
Fortunately, that limitation didn’t ruin his plan.
His Shadow Soldiers possessed enough power to fight on their own. Their current orders were simple: eliminate monsters, collect valuable drops, and clear their assigned dungeons.
They didn’t need him to micromanage every battle.
As long as they can handle the enemies, I can focus on my own dungeon.
Nathaniel opened his eyes.
A deep roar rolled through the blood-red mist.
Several enormous shapes emerged from the depths of the nest.
Crimson Blood Demon Spiders.
Their swollen bodies were covered in dark growths, and their many legs scraped across the ground as they rushed toward him.
Nathaniel examined their information.
[Crimson Blood Demon Spider]
[Level: 96]
[HP: 620,000]
[Skills: Blood Poison Spray, Web Entanglement]
A dense swarm surged forward.
Nathaniel watched the approaching monsters and let out a quiet breath.
"So this is what it feels like to grind monsters personally again."
For the past several days, his Shadow Army had handled much of the fighting in his dungeon runs.
Now he had deliberately entered one himself while the rest of his army worked elsewhere.
It was a strange feeling.
But it wasn’t a problem.
The next instant, Nathaniel stamped his foot against the ground.
BOOM!
The floor cracked beneath him.
His figure shot forward, crossing the distance in an instant.
A Crimson Blood Demon Spider opened its mouthparts to spray poison.
Nathaniel’s fist smashed into its head before it could release the attack.
CRACK!
The monster’s head burst apart, and its enormous body collapsed.
[Crimson Blood Demon Spider killed.]
[Experience cannot be increased at the current level.]
Nathaniel ignored the notification.
Experience wasn’t his objective.
Gold coins, materials, and equipment were what mattered.
He moved straight into the swarm.
His overwhelming attributes made the ordinary monsters little more than obstacles. His fists, knees, elbows, and legs struck with devastating force.
He didn’t need a flashy skill for every enemy.
One punch crushed a spider’s head.
A kick sent another crashing into the fleshy wall.
An elbow shattered the armor-like shell of a third.
His speed was so great that the monsters often failed to react before he had already moved past them.
Within moments, the ground was littered with shattered bodies.
Nathaniel continued advancing.
However, not every enemy was as easy to kill.
Whenever an elite monster or mini-boss appeared with particularly high health and defense, Nathaniel refused to waste time beating it down with ordinary attacks.
He would use his established shadow abilities when necessary.
Against enemies that threatened to slow his progress, he could condense darkness into his Shadow Blade and strike at their weak points. If he needed to cross a dangerous stretch of ground or evade a powerful attack, Shadow Step allowed him to move through the shadows with startling speed.
And when an enemy proved too durable to deal with efficiently, he had a far more devastating option.
Shadow Execution.
Nathaniel didn’t need to waste his strongest attack on every monster. Using it against ordinary enemies would be an unnecessary expenditure of Shadow Energy.
He reserved it for opponents that genuinely warranted the skill.
With his overwhelming physical attributes and established abilities, he continued carving his way through the dungeon.
The Crimson Blood Demon Spiders tried to surround him.
They failed.
Some sprayed clouds of poisonous blood toward him. Others attempted to trap him with thick webs.
Nathaniel moved between their attacks, crushing those within reach and using Shadow Step whenever their numbers threatened to box him in.
A web spread across the ground beneath his feet.
His shadow shifted.
In the next instant, Nathaniel emerged several meters away, leaving the sticky strands to close around empty space.
He drove a fist into the nearest spider’s body.
The monster flew backward and crashed into two others.
Their bodies struck the wall with a sickening crunch.
Nathaniel continued forward.
Without his Shadow Soldiers clearing the path ahead, his progress was undeniably slower than when his entire army fought together in a single dungeon.
He had to search each area himself.
He had to fight through the monster groups himself.
And he had to collect the drops left behind along the way.
Even so, his overwhelming attributes made the process far faster than it would have been for a normal professional.
More than an hour passed.
Nathaniel finally reached the deepest part of the Crimson Blood Demon Nest.
The dungeon’s final boss awaited him there.
The Crimson Blood Mother Empress.
Its enormous body occupied most of the chamber, surrounded by layers of pulsing crimson flesh. The air trembled as the creature released a deafening roar, sending ripples through the blood-colored mist.
Nathaniel didn’t waste time studying it for long.
He had already spent enough time clearing the dungeon.
Now he wanted to finish the job.
The Crimson Blood Mother Empress lunged forward, its massive body surging toward him.
Nathaniel’s expression remained calm.
Darkness gathered around his hand, condensing into a blade of pure shadow.
Shadow Blade!
He slipped past the boss’s first attack and drove the blade into the creature’s side.
The Empress roared. Its enormous body twisted violently, sending a wave of crimson mucus across the chamber.
Nathaniel used Shadow Step to evade the sweeping mass of flesh, reappearing near the monster’s chest.
The boss’s health had fallen, but it was still powerful enough to make prolonged combat an unnecessary risk.
Nathaniel raised his hand.
"Shadow Execution."
The surrounding shadows surged toward him.
Darkness condensed overhead, forming an enormous blade that seemed to swallow the light around it. The air grew heavy as the weapon descended toward the Crimson Blood Mother Empress.
The boss tried to retreat.
It was too late.
The massive shadow blade struck its chest.
BOOM!
The impact tore through the creature’s defenses, dealing devastating True Damage. Its enormous body shuddered as the attack ripped through its core.
The Crimson Blood Mother Empress let out one final roar before collapsing into the fleshy ground.
RUMBLE!
The surrounding membranes trembled violently as the entire nest began to break apart.
Nathaniel watched the boss fall.
A series of notifications appeared before him.
[Crimson Blood Mother Empress killed.]
[Crimson Blood Demon Nest: Hell Difficulty cleared.]
[Clear Rating: SSS]
[Experience cannot be increased at the current level.]
Nathaniel ignored the experience notification and walked toward the boss’s remains.
Among the drops lay a dense, blood-red core.
He picked it up.
[Item Acquired: Crimson Blood Mother Empress Core]
Nathaniel stored the core in his inventory.
Another valuable item secured.
Meanwhile, his Shadow Soldiers were still clearing their assigned dungeons, collecting loot and moving toward their respective objectives.
He couldn’t directly control their every action from here, but their initial commands remained in effect.
That was enough.
Nathaniel turned toward the teleportation array.
One dungeon cleared personally.
A substantial army working across the others.
And twenty-four hours to earn five hundred million gold coins.
He stepped into the teleportation array, ready to check the results of his plan.
