Chapter 56 | Plan 2
Chapter 56: 56 | Plan 2
Andrew looked toward Monica, who was sitting in a chair beside his bed, scrolling through her own phone. The three families wanted him dead. Although they were mainly targeting him, there was no guarantee they wouldn’t use the people close to him as bait.
He quietly entered Monica’s account number.
Transfer Successful.
Amount Sent: $100,000.00
A notification immediately rang on Monica’s phone. She glanced at the screen. Then her eyes widened.
"W-What?!" She looked at Andrew in complete disbelief.
Andrew smiled faintly. "I got lucky. I found a valuable treasure inside the Game World. I managed to sell it to a wealthy collector."
It wasn’t the complete truth, but it was close enough.
Monica still looked hesitant. "I... I can’t accept this."
Andrew shook his head. "You have to. The people after me may not target you..." He paused, choosing his words carefully. "...but they might. They’ve already seen us together. If they can’t find me... They may try to use you to lure me out."
Monica’s expression immediately turned pale.
If the families couldn’t get to Andrew directly, they might try to hurt her instead.
"So listen carefully," Andrew continued, his voice serious. "For the next few days, don’t stay at home. Find a good hotel. Stay there temporarily. Keep your movements normal. Don’t tell anyone where you’re staying. And if anything suspicious happens... Call the police immediately and then call me immediately. I don’t want you taking unnecessary risks."
Monica looked down at the money before finally nodding. "...Alright. I’ll be careful."
She carefully put away her phone before quietly leaving the ward to make arrangements.
The room became silent once again.
Andrew leaned back. He subconsciously stretched out his hand, reaching for the weapon that should have been at his side.
"Come."
Nothing happened.
He frowned. Again. "Come."
Silence.
His sword never appeared. His armor never appeared. Not even his inventory responded.
He shook his head ans smiled bitterly. I almost died because I was careless.
Everything obtained inside the Game World... Stayed inside the Game World.
Game equipment could never be summoned into reality. The God Slayer Blade, the Heavenbreaker Warplate, the Crimson Fang Sword, the Shadowstride Boots—all of it was trapped in Heaven’s Domain, waiting for him to log back in.
Only personal growth... Skills... Talents... Bloodlines... And physical improvements remained after returning to Earth.
Everything else stayed behind.
Andrew sighed. "So in the real world... I have to start from scratch."
He immediately picked up his phone and began browsing the internet.
After searching for several minutes, he finally found an online weapons store—one that catered to Ultras and hunters, selling equipment that was a step above ordinary civilian gear.
Since ordinary reinforced weapons were not classified as Relics, anyone could legally purchase them.
They weren’t as powerful as true Relics, but they were better than nothing.
Andrew ordered a high-quality reinforced steel sword for $10,000. The academy accepted the delivery on his behalf, since he couldn’t leave the grounds.
Roughly two hours later... The sword arrived.
Andrew tested it several times.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
The blade cut through the air cleanly. It was well-balanced, well-forged, made from materials that were stronger than ordinary steel. It would hold an edge longer, resist breaking better, and cut deeper than any civilian weapon.
"It really is much better than an ordinary sword," Andrew murmured. "But... It’s nowhere close to a true Relic."
Still, it was better than fighting barehanded.
After tipping the delivery driver, Andrew continued browsing the internet. This time...
He searched for cultivation manuals.
Although he doubted the authenticity of anything sold online, he wanted to test a theory. The internet was full of scams—people selling "ancient techniques" and "secret methods" that were actually just made-up nonsense designed to separate gullible buyers from their money.
Eventually, he purchased two inexpensive manuals for $5,000 each.
The first was a breathing technique called Vacuum Suction Breathing, supposedly capable of rapidly absorbing the surrounding mana. The description claimed it was a technique passed down from an ancient cultivation sect, capable of accelerating mana accumulation by ten times.
The second was a body-conditioning manual that claimed to strengthen one’s physique through a series of specialized training exercises. It promised increased muscle density, stronger bones, and enhanced organ function.
Andrew wasn’t buying them because he believed they were genuine. He bought them because he wanted to test his System—specifically, the 10,000x Investment Multiplier.
If the manuals were fake... Could his Quality Multiplier transform fake manuals into real cultivation techniques?
It was worth a try. If it worked, he would have a way to obtain cultivation resources without spending a fortune. If it didn’t... well, he was only out $10,000. A small price to pay for knowledge.
Including Monica’s transfer, he had now spent approximately $120,000. He decided to preserve the remaining money—$880,000 was still a significant sum, and he might need it for emergencies.
If his experiment failed... He would simply purchase authentic Relics from the Ultra Association after obtaining his certification. That was the backup plan.
A short while later... Monica returned. She also carried several bags of food.
"I figured you hadn’t eaten," she said, holding up the bags.
Andrew smiled. His stomach, reminded of its existence by the smell of food, growled loudly.
The two quietly shared the meal together. Neither of them spoke much.
Simply sitting together in silence was enough.
After eating, Monica noticed the reinforced sword leaning against the wall. Beside it lay the two cultivation manuals.
"Are these yours?"
Andrew nodded. "Keep them."
Monica looked confused. "Really?"
"They’re yours."
The instant Monica accepted them—taking physical possession of the items with her own hands—
Ding!
A familiar notification appeared before Andrew.
[Investment Successful.]
[Calculating Returns...]
[7,000× Quality Multiplier Activated!]
Andrew’s eyes widened slightly. Seven thousand times? That was higher than he had expected.
A series of rewards instantly materialized inside his System Inventory.
The reinforced steel sword had been upgraded into an exceptionally refined weapon.
But... it still wasn’t a true Relic, its craftsmanship had reached the absolute peak of ordinary weapons, approaching Iron Grade quality.
The blade was sharper, the balance was better, the durability was enhanced. It would serve him well until he could obtain something better.
Meanwhile... The two fake manuals had undergone an even greater transformation.
The worthless books had become genuine cultivation techniques.
Vacuum Suction Breathing Art
Grade: Mortal
A breathing technique capable of drawing surrounding mana into the body far more efficiently than ordinary meditation. With consistent practice, the user can increase their mana absorption rate by five to ten times.
Titan Body Conditioning Art
Grade: Mortal
A genuine body-refining technique that steadily strengthens muscles, bones, and internal organs through continuous training. Regular practice will increase physical stats by approximately 1% per month.
Andrew stared silently at the rewards.
Then he sighed.
"So that’s the limit..."
Even with a seven-thousand-times multiplier... Ordinary objects could not directly become Relics.
At best... They evolved into the peak of mundane equipment. The reinforced sword was now an exceptional weapon, but it still wasn’t a Relic.
His original plan wasn’t successful but he had a backup plan.
"EX- Rank Talent: Creation!!!"
