Chapter 59 | Assasination Attempt, KILL!!!
Chapter 59: 59 | Assasination Attempt, KILL!!!
"Queue," his calm voice carried surprising authority. It cut through the noise like a blade, silencing the chatter and drawing every eye to him. "Everyone lines up. One item per person. Anyone who ignores the line gets nothing."
The rushing players hesitated. Some of them looked at each other, unsure of whether to take Andrew seriously. Others looked at the him and decided that maybe it would be wise to do what the scary man said.
One impatient player attempted to force his way through the crowd. He was a big man, broad-shouldered and muscular.
He pushed past two smaller players, ignoring their protests, and lunged toward the stall with his hand outstretched.
Before anyone could react—
Bang!
Andrew casually swung the back of his sword into the man’s chest. It wasn’t a full-strength strike, not even close. Andrew had barely put any force behind it. But even a casual swing from someone with Andrew’s stats was enough to send an ordinary player flying.
The impact launched him backward several meters. The big man’s feet left the ground, and he sailed through the air like a rag doll before crashing to the dirt road in a heap of limbs and armor.
"Cough!"
The player spat out a mouthful of blood before collapsing onto the ground, clutching his chest in agony. The hit had broken several ribs and probably cracked his chest. He would need a healing potion and several minutes of rest before he could move properly again.
Silence instantly fell over the crowd.
No one dared move.
Only then did everyone realize Andrew wasn’t joking.
From that moment onward, the line became perfectly orderly.
Player after player stepped forward.
The Black Iron weapons disappeared first.
Next came the Black Iron treasure chests.
Then the Iron-grade weapons.
The armor.
The accessories.
The enhancement jewels.
The potions.
Each player received only one reward before happily leaving, while Andrew continuously converted every return multiplier into Investment Points.
As more people received equipment, the rumors exploded throughout the Beginner’s Village.
"The guy at the gate is giving away Black Iron weapons!"
"There are treasure chests too!"
"I heard he has dozens of Iron-grade weapons!"
"Where did he even get all this loot?"
"Did he discover a hidden dragon’s treasure?"
Within half an hour, nearly the entire Beginner’s Village had gathered near the entrance.
Just then, a group of around twenty players pushed through the crowd.
Judging by their matching equipment and arrogant expressions, they had formed up to a party.
Their leader walked straight up to Andrew.
"Leave these weapons for our group."
"We’ll take everything."
The surrounding players immediately glared at them. But didn’t dare say anything or they might be caught in the crossfire.
Andrew merely stared at him without saying a word.
The guild leader met his gaze—
Then his expression changed instantly.
His pupils shrank.
Above Andrew’s head floated 50 crimson kill marks, glowing ominously like clouds
That meant Andrew had personally killed 50 players. Isn’t this guy a demon?
The arrogance on the leader’s face disappeared immediately.
"...My apologies."
He bowed slightly.
Then he turned toward his guild members.
"Get in line."
The entire group were stunned before they obediently joined the back of the queue without another complaint.
The gutting of items went without a hitch and in under thirty minutes, he had given everything out and left the village, towards the Misty Forest.
Andrew’s eyes lit up with happiness and he couldn’t help smiling at the amour of investment pings and legendary weapons in his arsenal.
He couldn’t wait to leave the beginner village to activate the Trading System and trade the legendary weapons anonymously.
But he didn’t rush. He purposely slowed his speed and walked quietly into the forest.
No, he wasn’t going for the mission from the Blacksmith yet, he wanted to process his haul from this gifting.
Of course he wasn’t dumb enough to turn everything into investment points.
Not long after leaving Beginner Village, Andrew noticed several figures secretly following him.
Andre smiled. Finally!
This was one of the main reason he had given the gifts out. He needed bloodline, talents and stat points.
He didn’t look back or change his pace for fear of scaring them away.
Andrew simply continued walking through the dark forest, his footsteps steady and unhurried, as if he hadn’t noticed a thing.
The assassin’s formation was professional. Three scouts in front, flanking at a wide angle. Five main attackers in the center, positioned to close the distance quickly. Four support members behind them, likely mages or ranged attackers. Two more hanging further back—the leader and a reserve, positioned to cut off any escape route.
Andrew’s twitching lips betrayed his excitement.
He let them follow him for nearly thirty minutes, leading them deeper into the forest and further away from any witnesses.
The assassins grew bolder as the distance from the village increased, closing the gap gradually against their unaware prey.
When they were approximately 2 kilometers from the village, in a small clearing with tall grasses. He stood perfectly still for a moment, his back to his pursuers. Then he spoke, his voice carrying clearly through the quiet forest.
"You’ve been following me for a while now. Are you going to attack, or do you need an invitation?"
The forest went silent. Even the crickets seemed to stop chirping.
For a heartbeat, nothing happened and it seemed like there was truly nobody around him.
In the next moment, a thick voice cut through the darkness from somewhere behind and above at the same time..
"Kill him."
"Twang!" "Twang!" Twang!"
Arrows rained from the trees.
A dozen shafts with tips laced with poisoned, descended from multiple angles in a coordinated attack that left no place to dodge.
At the same time, six fireballs the size of a basketball shot through the air from the support members’ positions, their orange glow illuminating the dark forest like miniature suns as they blasted towards him
And from somewhere to Andrew’s left, a gravity-type ability activated.
"Bang!"
The ground exokddd as gravity increased all of a sudden.
The pressure shook and warped the air as it activated. It was as though itself was crushing Andrew.
At this moment, he could not move a single bit and was stuck as the arrows and fireballs collided into him, releasing a massive explosion that rose up tk the skies.
"KA-BOOM!"
