Star Instructor, Master Baek

Chapter 646: This Is Your Hell

“Incredible...” the Blood Demon gasped in exhilaration as he took in the landscape that had changed in an instant.

The two of them had arrived somewhere completely different from the battlefield where they had stood only moments ago.

He confirmed this fact by exchanging blows with the Blood Demon hundreds of times. He had transformed an overwhelmingly opponent-favorable battlefield into one that tilted slightly in his favor. That alone meant a great deal.

A mountain of corpses and a sea of blood stretched across the ruined land like a backdrop. Bodies had been slashed and torn apart so cruelly that the savage beast’s hatred could still be felt. Buildings had collapsed as though struck by a landslide, the earth had been flipped inside out, and frozen corpses lay everywhere. Even the stench of blood, so thick it numbed the nose, was perfect.

An entire world had been flawlessly brought to life here.

“Doesn’t this place feel familiar?” Baek Suryong asked in his usual voice, having apparently calmed the energy of the Heaven-Defying Divine Art for the moment. “I prepared a particularly memorable spot just for you. Ah, but unlike mine, your previous lives are a tattered mess, so maybe you don’t remember.”

“How could I possibly forget? You are the only one who shares my heaven-defying fate. My memories with you are special to me as well.”

FWOOSH!

The Blood Demon waved his hand through the air, painting a new picture over the desolate scene. Countless translucent figures appeared and began moving and shouting.

“The prisoners have escaped!”

“A traitor! A traitor set the prisoners free!”

“Don’t let a single one get away!”

Baek Suryong watched the battle unfold around him with indifference. Number 27, who had escaped the prison, and his four masters were fighting desperately against the Blood Cultists surrounding them.

Everything was exactly as he remembered. This was where they had fought their final battle, and where the Blood Demon had plunged the Blood Demon Sword into Number 27’s heart.

The Blood Demon smiled with immeasurable joy. “You used the most intense memories and rage of your previous life as fuel to bring this place to life. How truly commendable.”

Countless beams of starlight poured down from the center of the violently swirling night sky.

Baek Suryong had worked a miracle that transcended the realm of martial arts. That also meant he had reached a level where he could deceive the heavens themselves.

“You have truly mastered the Heaven-Defying Divine Art,” the Blood Demon exclaimed emotionally.

Tears of blood streamed from his ruby red eyes as he approached Baek Suryong. He had finally arrived at the moment he had prepared for across countless lifetimes. He was meeting a being who had imitated him in order to create another Samsara hell. How could he not weep with delight?

“Yes, which is why this is your hell.” Baek Suryong sneered at that sorrowful tone, which seemed to say the Blood Demon understood everything about him. “Isn’t this what you were hoping for when you showed me that place over and over again? If not, you underestimated me way too much.”

He waved his hand, and the battling phantoms crumbled away like dust.

Baek Suryong watched his four masters fade away for a moment, then turned to face the Blood Demon. His Blood Demon Eyes, pushed to their peak, flashed crimson as if to pierce straight through his opponent.

“I’m going to kill you,” he spat, his every word dripping with intense killing intent.

RUMBLE!

He unleashed all the energy he had struggled so hard to suppress. A powerful current coiled around his body and shot out in every direction. His blood-soaked martial arts uniform flapped wildly, as if caught in a storm. His hair, dyed red from root to tip, soared toward the sky.

The ground beneath his feet began to quake, and dust and pebbles floated into the air. Releasing his energy alone was enough to rend the boundary between heaven and earth.

“HAHAHAHAHAHA...!”

The air shook with the Blood Demon’s laughter. Baek Suryong’s divine might surpassed even his wildest imagination, yet he welcomed it. The stronger the two heavenly energies were when they collided, the closer they would come to creating a Dimensional Fracture.

“Yes, only you can kill me, because only you are my equal. Even so, to me, that is...”

“I’ll start by ripping that yapping mouth of yours apart,” Baek Suryong interjected.

WHAM!

He vanished from where he stood, and the Blood Demon was sent flying a hundred meters backward.

KRAGAGAGAGAGA!

Their blades locked, and their faces were so close that they nearly touched. As Baek Suryong pressed the attack, the Blood Demon held up a Blood Demon Sword identical to his own.

“Wow, that stings... I haven’t felt pain in a long time.” The Blood Demon licked the cut on his lip, where a bead of blood had formed. Unlike before, the wound did not heal automatically.

A chilling smile spread across Baek Suryong’s lips. “It can’t hurt yet. We’re only just getting started.”

SHWAAAK!

A few strands of red hair scattered in the air as he lashed out with Crimson Moon, which had been hanging loosely in his left hand, like lightning.

The Blood Demon’s figure blurred as if torn in two.

You’re not getting away.

Baek Suryong’s eyes immediately tracked the Blood Demon. The fiend was right beside him. He swiftly sidestepped, catching a glimpse of a sword point aimed at the space between his brows.

For a split second, the two men’s crimson eyes met. Like twins, they brushed past each other.

SPLURT!

They painted each other with blood, then spun around and collided again. For an endless time, their figures clashed and crossed until they blurred into one.

RUMBLE!

The battle between transcendent beings who had long surpassed human limits laid waste to everything around them. The shockwaves from their colliding powers gouged deep furrows into the earth and pulverized the collapsed buildings into dust.

CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG! KABOOOOM!

Neither side could overpower the other, so they exchanged blows hundreds of times in an instant. They withstood attacks capable of splitting the sky and carving up mountains with their bodies. At that point, even defensive qi meant little.

As time passed, they became drenched in blood. Dozens of wounds, enough to kill any human long ago, were carved into their flesh.

Still, they wore indifferent expressions, as if they felt no pain. Using the power of the Heaven-Defying Divine Art, they sealed their gaping wounds, stitched them shut with threads of qi, and cauterized them even while swinging their swords.

Even though he was battered to a pulp, the martial arts instructor’s razor-sharp momentum had not dulled one bit.

“I never expected to struggle this much. I’m truly astonished. For the first time, this body feels wretched to me,” the Blood Demon muttered, seeming pleased despite panting heavily. A malicious greed shimmered within his blood-red eyes.
