Chapter 648: Chapter 332: It’s Time to Lead the National Style Era

By the time he arrived, Ximeng had already been notified and was waiting for him in the lobby.

Today, she was wearing the studio’s new secretary outfit—the one designed to be worn out in the open to tempt the boss.

She swayed toward her boss on her long legs, the black stockings accentuating her every move. The moment they met, she hugged his arm and rubbed against it, prompting him to look down.

Chen Jincheng glanced down and, just as she intended, saw a flash of pale skin, accented by a hint of black lace.

Normally, you wouldn’t be able to see such a sight.

But this was different. Only from the boss’s towering perspective could one see such a temptation.

’What a clever design.’

After all, a secretary would be standing tall and proud when facing other company employees, so no one else would get to see this beautiful view.

It was only for the boss, looking down from his superior position, that this view was possible.

’This Ximeng... she really has the art of being a secretary down pat.’

"Show me around the building," Chen Jincheng said with a smile, appreciating the view afforded by his secretary’s little scheme.

"Let’s go, Boss!" Ximeng beamed, pulling him by the arm as they headed inside. They began to tour the building, starting with the lobby. It had numerous functional areas, but they would all need to be renovated to suit the needs of the MCN company.

Inside, other Second-Life Star employees were already conducting inspections. Members of the HR department were leading designers around, pointing out areas that needed to be renovated first.

That way, construction could begin immediately once the contracts were finalized, saving valuable time.

Chen Jincheng and Ximeng continued to explore the building. Each floor had a unique design, a holdover from when the building was leased to many different companies, each with its own distinctive decor.

Some of the decor would have to be demolished, but some could be preserved and used by certain departments.

Finally, Ximeng led Chen Jincheng to an area on the 16th floor, a mysterious look on her face.

"What’s so special about this place?" Chen Jincheng asked.

Ximeng explained, "This floor was previously leased to a large corporation that occupied four entire floors. That company eventually grew and bought its own building. This year, the building’s owner ran into financial trouble with his primary business and had to sell, so this space was never leased out again."

Chen Jincheng nodded. ’That makes sense.’ If the building was up for sale, of course they wouldn’t take on new tenants. The owner would even have to resolve any existing leases, otherwise no one would buy the property; it would be deemed too much of a hassle.

After Ximeng led him into an office, he knew she had put a lot of thought into this.

The office’s decor was excellent—very stylish and, most importantly, a perfect fit for his tastes. The massive floor-to-ceiling windows offered the best possible view of the Century City area.

From here, he could look down on all the MCN companies headquartered in Century City, right where all the influencers congregated.

"This office isn’t bad," Chen Jincheng said, very satisfied after looking around. "We can have it renovated, and it will serve as my office."

"I’ve already had some renovations done. In fact, I had them work on a special place these last two days!" Ximeng suddenly pulled him to one side of the office with a secretive air. She twisted an ornament on a bookshelf, and to his surprise, the entire bookcase slid aside.

Chen Jincheng was stunned. Behind the bookshelf was another door.

"I had the lock changed," Ximeng said, stepping forward with a coy smile. "Boss, you can register your fingerprint now."

Stunned, a thought occurred to Chen Jincheng. He quickly registered his fingerprint, opened the door, and stepped inside. It was a fully furnished room.

In the center stood a large bed. There was also a wardrobe and an en-suite bathroom.

The bathroom even had a large bathtub.

With all its amenities, the suite was on par with a room in a Five-Star hotel.

’Wow... she really knows how to live.’

"How did you find this place?" Chen Jincheng asked, astonished.

Ximeng explained, "I was checking each floor, looking for an office for you, when I came across this room. The bookshelf was already open, and so was the door. Over the past few days, I had people secretly come in to furnish it. I also inspected it myself and had the lock replaced."

"Right now, not even Sister Hong knows this room exists. You work so hard, Boss. Isn’t it normal for you to have a private room at the company to rest?"

As she spoke, she leaned her whole body against Chen Jincheng and began to rub against his arm.

This made Chen Jincheng laugh. "Just for resting?"

Ximeng leaned in close to his ear and whispered seductively, "You could also tear my stockings, Boss. I’m wearing bright red panties today!"

Chen Jincheng wasn’t exactly known for his self-control.

A common failing among scumbags.

However, he was a bit more rational than your average scumbag. Even as his hand reached for Ximeng’s stockings, he asked with grave seriousness, "Are you sure it’s been checked? Is it secure?"

"I checked it," Ximeng confirmed with a nod, her face blushing.

Chen Jincheng kicked the office door shut, and his hands began to ravage the girl’s stockings.

...

Sister Hong was also inspecting the building’s various floors. Unlike Chen Jincheng, her main purpose was to plan the layout for each level. All of Second-Life Star’s many departments would need to be properly situated.

All of this required careful planning.

For instance, Lao Chen’s photography department would need to manage a lot of camera equipment and tools. This was especially true now that the LeTV Film and Television division was being integrated. LeTV’s photography staff would be merged into Lao Chen’s department, and so would all their equipment once it arrived.

Therefore, the photography department couldn’t be located on a floor that was too high up.

Then there was the influencer department. They’d need to set aside several floors to build live-streaming studios and filming rooms of various sizes.

The fashion design department, on the other hand, had fewer requirements. As long as they had a good creative environment, any floor would suffice.

There was also the IT department. Currently, they only managed the tech for the Second Life Star Official Website. But once the game was released, or if they decided to create online games, they would need their own servers.

The servers would need to be placed in a specific, well-ventilated location, which also required careful planning.

As the General Manager of Second-Life Star, she was responsible for all these things.

Sister Hong felt she ought to hire an assistant or two. After all, she was the general manager of a company valued at 15 billion. It seemed like a misuse of her time to be personally running around handling things like department layouts.

After she finished her inspection of the building, she realized she had no idea where her boss had gone. She took out her phone and gave him a call.

In a secret room within the building, a phone began to ring, its chime accompanied by a series of wet, rhythmic sounds.

At that moment, however, its owner was in no mood to answer.

Sister Hong called twice in a row. When her boss didn’t pick up, she figured he must be busy with something important and unable to answer. So, she simply hailed a cab and returned to Second-Life Star on her own.

More than two hours passed before Chen Jincheng and Ximeng finally left the building. Ximeng tossed a small bag she was carrying into a nearby trash can.

Her legs were bare, the stockings gone, and a charming, rosy flush graced her pretty face.

"Boss, should I install some... special chairs and tools in there?" Ximeng sidled up to him, her tone a tempting whisper.

Hearing this, Chen Jincheng immediately thought of Xiaobai. ’Didn’t she decorate her room just like that?’

Her room had everything: fox tails, handcuffs... you name it.

There was even a W-position bondage chair.

Thinking of this, he cleared his throat and said, "You can handle that. Don’t ask me. You’re making it sound like I’m that kind of person."

"So that’s a yes," Ximeng cooed.

Chen Jincheng just smiled, saying nothing.

’These cunning girls are always the most perceptive.’

Chen Jincheng drove Ximeng back to Second-Life Star. He had just returned to his office when he got a call from Wanxi. As soon as he answered, he was greeted with good news. "Boss, the first few sets of Hanfu are finished. Do you want to come over and see them now?"

Chen Jincheng’s eyes lit up at her words.

’We can finally start building hype for the Hanfu event,’ he thought. ’Next up, it’s time to usher in the era of the National Style.’
