Starting Out As The God of Beasts

Chapter 210: Divine Comprehension

A sharp, dangerous spark ignited in Roy’s golden-crimson eyes, burning far beyond his original, modest expectations for this conquest.

The revelation of the Sun Pantheon’s hierarchy had not intimidated him; rather, it had widened his horizon, turning a simple regional purge into a grand, high-stakes game of divine chess.

His lips curled up.

Telvanus, taking note of the intense, calculating gaze resting on the stolen face of the Peerless Supreme Elder, tilted his ethereal head slightly.

"If the threat of the Sky God’s Church weighs so heavily upon your strategy..." Telvanus offered softly, his voice shimmering like starlight, "...I could descend a single Angel from my personal vanguard to assist you in this endeavor.

It would ensure the swift, silent eradication of Priest Arnold and his cadre without risking your exposure."

Roy took a slow, deep breath, letting out a heavy sigh as a calm, knowing smile spread across his lips.

He gracefully shook his head, waving a hand in polite refusal.

"I appreciate the gesture, God of Information," Roy answered smoothly,

"but I must decline."

Roy knew precisely what that offer entailed. Telvanus was a formidable King-tier True God, commanding a grand pantheon and an army of high divine entities.

Accepting the aid of one of Telvanus’s Angels would place Roy in an unspoken debt, subtly casting him as a subordinate under the King-tier God’s shadow.

If Roy wished to extract the greatest possible benefits from their alliance and eventually stand as an absolute power in his own right, he needed to remain on equal terms with Telvanus.

He could not afford to become a vassal.

Roy hesitated for a brief moment, his mind weaving through countless tactical variations, before his smile sharpened into a dangerous grin.

"I know what I must do," Roy declared, his tone dripping with cold, ruthless confidence.

"In order to halt the expansion of the Church of the God of the Sky, I do not merely need to kill their priests. I must completely shatter their holy reputation across the entire Northern Hashian Mountains."

He leaned back against the silk cushions, his golden-crimson eyes glinting in the pale moonlight.

"It seems a few tens of thousands of mortal souls will need to die to make the world see their ’holy salvation’ for the farce it truly is."

Telvanus observed the young Divine Spirit silently for a long moment, taking in the absolute, unyielding coldness of Roy’s resolve.

The God of Information inhaled deeply, his ethereal robes fluttering as he yielded to Roy’s judgment.

"You are free to orchestrate this theater as you see fit," Telvanus spoke evenly. "So long as the outcome aligns with my interests and keeps the upper realms blind to your true nature, I shall welcome whatever path you carve."

Telvanus paused, his featureless visage turning slightly toward the open window, looking down at the silent, torchlit courtyards of the martial sect below.

"However... regarding these mortal humans you intend to slaughter in droves. Would it not be far more beneficial for your future realm to convert them?

To turn their faith toward your name rather than burning them to ash?"

Roy shook his head without a single second of hesitation.

"My immediate goal is to expand the borders of Varania into this continent and establish an unbreakable foundation," Roy explained, his voice flat and devoid of human sentiment.

"For that foundation to take root, rivers of human blood must flow first."

He stood up from the bed, stepping into the shadow of the lattice window. "The humans of this continent are stubborn, arrogant, and deeply entrenched in their martial pride.

No ordinary human will willingly bow to a deity who openly proclaims himself the ’God of Beasts and Men.’ They view beastfolk as subhuman slaves.

Therefore, my Church must first prove its absolute, terrifying authority through fire and judgment. They must feel true, despairing helplessness before they will ever open their hearts to accept my grace.

This slaughter is not mindless cruelty... it is a necessary crucible for the greater good of Varania."

Telvanus listened quietly to the cold, pragmatic logic.

As a True God who viewed mortal lives as mere threads in a vast web of information, he found no flaw in Roy’s reasoning.

It was neither malicious nor righteous—it was simply the cold calculation of a sovereign building an empire.

"A sound perspective," Telvanus conceded, his form beginning to dissolve into fine, luminous motes of starlight once more.

Before vanishing completely into the void, the God of Information turned his shifting face toward Roy one last time, his voice dropping into a stern, resonant whisper.

"I leave you with one final warning, Varanus.... beware of anomalies.

Should you encounter any entity on this mortal plane possessing divinity that does not originate from your own core, destroy them instantly.

Erase them before the true gods they serve can lock onto their signal and turn their eyes toward your position."

FLICKER.

With that final instruction, the divine presence vanished entirely.

The air in the private bedroom returned to its normal temperature, leaving Roy standing alone in the quiet darkness.

Minutes passed in absolute silence as Roy adjusted his breathing, letting his divine signature slip seamlessly back under the disguise of the Peerless Supreme Elder’s mortal aura.

KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.

A sudden, sharp rapping at the heavy oak door shattered the quiet of the chamber.

Roy’s eyebrows furrowed beneath his borrowed, wrinkled forehead.

His eyes narrowed as he focused his sharp senses beyond the wood, instantly recognizing the smooth, refined aura hovering on the other side of the threshold.

"Who approaches at this hour?" Roy demanded, using the exact, slightly harsh rasp of the Peerless Supreme Elder.

From the hallway outside, a familiar, smooth voice echoed through the thick door—rich, polite, and laced with an underlying, chilling composure.

"It is I, Elder," Priest Arnold answered softly from the corridor.

"Forgive the late intrusion, but I have a few... deeply personal questions I wish to ask the Peerless Supreme Elder in private."
