Chapter 120: Beast Pavillion
Chapter 120: Beast Pavillion
As he scanned the basic text, he remembered something.
’Right...’
He closed the beginner manual, tucking it back into his pocket and then he tapped the interface hovering in his vision and opened his Lord Inventory.
When they had finished the novice trial and absorbed that massive wave of combat experience from the tide, the Blessed Land had officially hit Level 10.
The system had quietly rewarded him with a high-tier architectural construction bundle, unlocking several advanced blueprints that he hadn’t even bothered to look at yet.
With a flash of pixelated blue light, a long, heavy scroll of blue architectural paper materialized in his hand.
Reina and Aeliana watched in surprise as he unrolled the glowing blueprint across his forearms.
The paper didn’t just show drawings; it displayed live three-dimensional magical diagrams that shifted and pulsed with mana.
Silas’s eyes widened as he read the descriptions of the high-tier defensive formations unlocked in his bundle:
[Unlocked Blueprint:] Astral Ward Matrix - Tier 2
[Type:] Perimeter Defense / Area Denial.
[Materials Required:] 1,000 Refined Stone, 500 Star-Iron, 200 Void-Amethyst, 50 units of Liquid Starlight.
[Function:] Projects a thirty-foot dampening dome over designated structures. Reduces all incoming magical and physical projectile damage by 40%. Automatically fires high-velocity starlight lances at any hostile entity that breaches the outer wall without territorial authorization.
[Unlocked Blueprint:] Geothermal Mana Forge - Tier 2
[Type:] Industrial / Resource Refinement.
[Materials Required:] 800 Obsidian Blocks, 400 Deep-Earth Alloy, 100 Sun-Forge Topaz, 1 Heavy Smelting Core.
[Function:] A specialized furnace structure that taps directly into subterranean heat veins. Accelerates weapon forging speed by 50% and automatically purifies low-grade ore into high-density ingots without manual flux application.
[Unlocked Blueprint:] Umbral Frost-Turret Array - Tier 2
[Type:] Automated Fortification.
[Materials Required:] 600 Ironwood Beams, 300 Tempered Iron, 150 Cryo-Crystals.
[Function:] Mounts interlocking autonomous crossbow turrets along the top parapets of the perimeter wall. Fires frost-enchanted heavy bolts that freeze target mobility on impact.
’These are incredible,’ Silas thought, his gamer logic drooling over the stat boosts and defensive upgrades. ’An automated turret array and a dampening dome? If we build those, the base will be practically impregnable to standard monster hordes.’
He carefully rolled past the defensive turrets and the industrial forges, keeping his focus on their current mission. He scrolled down to the agricultural and beast-mastery section of the bundle.
He found it.
[Unlocked Blueprint:] Reinforced Beast Pavilion - Tier 2
[Type:] Specialized Military / Breeding Facility.
[Materials Required:] 600 Refined Stone, 600 Ironwood Beams, 200 Tempered Iron, 100 Deep-Earth Alloy.
[Description:] An advanced evolution of the standard wooden Beast Pen. Features reinforced ironwood stables bound with shock-absorbing Deep-Earth Alloy gates. Includes automated freshwater troughs, integrated thermal floor tiles to regulate beast body temperature during extreme weather, and an enclosed training paddock designed specifically for pack-taming and cavalry saddle-drills.
Silas turned the glowing blue scroll around, holding it out so Reina and Aeliana could see the rotating 3D wireframe diagram of the Pavilion.
"What do you think of this one?" Silas asked them. "It isn’t a basic dirt pen, but it isn’t one of those crazy over-engineered mythic breeding arenas that cost to maintain either. It sits right in the middle. Strong walls, warm floors, and an open training yard."
Aeliana leaned in with her green eyes tracing the architectural lines.
"The structural integrity is exceptional, Lord Sy. The use of Deep-Earth Alloy on the gate hinges will prevent even a Corrupted Tier 2 beast from breaking loose if it panics during the taming process. It is a very secure design."
Reina just stared at the glowing blue scroll, her heart thumping wildly against her ribs.
She was secretly in love with the design.
A standard beginner pen was just a muddy fenced-in square where beasts sat in the rain and chewed on wooden posts.
This Tier 2 Pavilion was a legitimate military installation.
The integrated thermal tiles meant her wolves wouldn’t get joint stiffness during the freezing Umbral nights.
The enclosed training paddock gave her a controlled, safe environment to run saddle drills without worrying about a spooked mount bolting into the treeline.
It was everything a Beast Tamer could ever dream of having...
She desperately wanted to tell him how perfect it was, but her lingering recruit shyness held her tongue.
She didn’t want to sound greedy or demanding.
"It... it looks very functional, My Lord," Reina said softly, trying to keep her tone professional while her eyes devoured the layout. "The paddock space is more than enough for ten mounts."
Silas didn’t miss the intense, longing sparkle in her eyes. He smiled, turning back to his interface.
"Then let’s build it," Silas declared.
He checked his synced inventory resources against the blueprint requirements:
[Refined Stone:] 2,400 / 600 (Ready)
[Ironwood Beams:] 1,800 / 600 (Ready)
[Tempered Iron:] 900 / 200 (Ready)
[Deep-Earth Alloy:] 450 / 100 (Ready)
Thanks to Thora’s relentless crushing and smelting over the last week, his armory was overflowing with refined metal.
Even the Deep-Earth Alloy requirement which would have been impossible a week ago was easily covered by the haul they had pulled from the hidden mine.
Silas took three steps back to clear the center of the tiled square.
He raised his right hand toward the designated building zone and tapped the construction prompt.
’Build!’ Silas commanded mentally.
The air in the eastern courtyard violently shifted.
The glowing blue architectural scroll in his hand shattered into a blinding storm of pixelated light.
A massive rushing wind billowed outward from the center of the square, whipping Reina’s ash-blonde braid across her face and making Aeliana’s robes flutter wildly.
An immense thirty-foot-wide three-dimensional wireframe of the Beast Pavilion projected directly onto the black stone tiles, illuminating the entire eastern wall in a brilliant azure glow.
Then, the physical matter poured in from the ether.
Heavy precision-cut blocks of refined stone slammed down from the sky, stacking upon one another with deafening sounds that shook the ground beneath their boots.
THUD! THUD! THUD!
Massive dark brown pillars of seasoned ironwood slotted seamlessly into the masonry, locking the foundation in place with loud cracks.
Molten streaks of tempered iron and dull gray Deep-Earth Alloy materialized out of thin air, wrapping around the wooden support beams, cooling instantly with loud hisses of steam to form heavy reinforced gate bars, secure drop-latches, and thick binding plates.
The entire construction took less than eight seconds.
A blinding flash of white light exploded across the courtyard, signaling the final culmination of the architecture.
When the light cleared, Reina gasped, taking a step forward.
Sitting squarely on the eastern tiles was a magnificent, brutalist military stable.
The exterior walls were built of solid, dark gray refined stone, topped with sloped ironwood roofs that would easily shed the rain.
The heavy front gates were made of thick ironwood trunks reinforced with dull gray alloy bands, leading into a spacious, impeccably paved training paddock lined with clean water troughs and individual stable stalls.
"Whoa," Reina breathed out with her eyes wide as she walked up to the fence, running her bare hand over the smooth cool metal of the alloy gate latch.
Silas didn’t stop there.
He walked up beside her, placing his palm flat against the primary stone pillar of the gate.
A familiar blue interface prompt popped up in his vision:
[Reinforced Beast Pavilion]
[Tier: 2 Construct (Rare)]
[Durability: 1,500 / 1,500]
[Status: Operational.]
[Upgrade System: Would you like to upgrade Tier 2 Reinforced Beast Pavilion to Tier 3 Mythic Pack-Lord’s Sanctuary?]
[Cost: 300 UP.]
Silas glanced at his Upgrade Point balance.
Between clearing the corrupted lab and upgrading weapons and everything, he had over a thousand UP sitting in his account waiting to be spent.
He didn’t hesitate. If he was going to build a cavalry unit, he wanted it operating at peak efficiency from day one.
’Upgrade,’ Silas commanded.
VWOOSH!
A second, even more intense wave of golden and blue energy erupted from his palm, washing over the newly built Pavilion.
The structure physically expanded.
The stone walls grew two feet thicker, shifting from standard gray stone to a dense dark obsidian masonry that matched the architecture of the main Keep.
The sloped ironwood roofs extended outward, providing deep, covered overhangs that would protect the mounts from even the worst storms.
Along the top parapets and down the center support pillars, intricate, glowing green nature runes and silver starlight symbols automatically etched themselves deep into the stone and timber.
The heavy gates shifted, the Deep-Earth Alloy bars thickening and binding with reinforced shock-absorbers.
Inside the paddock, the floor tiles glowed with a soft, warm geothermal heat, while a small automated fresh-water fountain materialized in the center of the yard, pulling clean spring water directly from the underground aquifer.
The white light faded.
[Mythic Pack-Lord’s Sanctuary]
[Tier: 3 Construct (Epic)]
[Durability: 3,500 / 3,500]
[Passive Effects:]
[Wild Tether]: Increases Beast Tamer bonding speed by 100% within the paddock.
[Primal Vigor]: Stabled beasts regenerate stamina and physical injuries at 300% standard rate.
[Nature’s Calm]: The integrated rune emits a soothing atmospheric frequency, completely eliminating beast aggression toward territorial allies and preventing panic during combat drills.
Reina stood frozen in front of the Tier 3 Sanctuary with her mouth hung open as she couldn’t even form words.
It wasn’t just a stable anymore.
It was a masterpiece of magical beast engineering.
The glowing green runes pulsing along the obsidian walls filled the air with a clean invigorating scent of pine forests and fresh rain.
Just standing near the open paddock made the Beast Tamer mana inside her own chest hum with intense ease.
She turned her head slowly, looking at Silas.
He was standing right beside her, dusting his palms off with a casual rhythm.
The afternoon sunlight caught the sharp edge of his jaw and the brilliant golden rings in his eyes.
He turned to look at her, a warm, genuine smile lighting up his entire face.
"Well?" Silas asked softly, gesturing toward the massive, rune-carved Sanctuary. "Do you like it?"
Reina felt her knees go weak. Her heart thumped so hard against her ribs it felt like it was going to break out of her chest.
She stared up at Silas.
The Lord of the Blessed Land was standing right next to her in the damp afternoon air of the Umbral Basin, waiting for her answer with a genuine casual smile on his face.
"I love it, My Lord," Reina managed to stammer out, her voice breathless and heavy with awe. "It’s perfect. The paddocks, the tiles, the Deep-Earth alloy gates... It’s exactly what my class needs to operate properly."
Silas chuckled, reaching out and clapping her gently on the shoulder.
"Glad to hear it," he said, turning his golden-ringed eyes toward the heavy ironwood gates of the new Beast Pen. "Because building the stable was only phase one. Now comes the actual hard part. We need to go out into the dark, find a pack of Corrupted Umbral Wolves, and bring them back here alive without getting our throats ripped out."
He dropped his hand from her shoulder and turned to face her fully.
"We’re going to need a hunting party to corner the pack while you establish your dominance tethers," Silas explained, slipping the Blueprints into his back pocket. "I want you to go down to the barracks and pick nine people. Anyone you want. Build your squad, and we’ll head out."
Reina blinked, completely caught off guard.
"You... you want me to pick the squad, Lord Silas?" she asked, her voice squeaking slightly as her nervous recruit instincts flared back up. "Shouldn’t you select the heavy hitters yourself? What if I pick the wrong combination of classes for a trapping mission?"
Silas shrugged his broad shoulders, looking entirely unbothered by the tactical implications.
"Anyone will do, Reina," Silas told her calmly.
He gestured casually toward the pristine silver-haired elf standing silently behind them. "As long as Aeliana is with us to lock down the area with her spells, and I’m there to handle the physical pushback, we’ll be completely fine. Go grab whoever you want to work with. We’ll meet you at the main eastern gates in twenty minutes."
He gave her a quick nod, turned around, and began walking back across the wide, black-tiled courtyard toward the Keep, with Aeliana trailing flawlessly in his shadow.
