As soon as they stepped out of the mansion, they all looked up.
Above the clouds was a warrior with long, wavy hair. His arms were crossed as he cast a sharp glance at the people beneath him.
As he descended from the sky, an incomparably heavy pressure suddenly fell, forcing the weaker warriors to kneel.
Namgung Ilsun wiped off the sweat on his forehead as he kept his eyes on the man.
Why did he come here while making such a fuss? Is he trying to assert his dominance again?
He was furious, but he was painfully aware of the vast difference between their power. He could only hold back his fury.
With a wave of his hand, he released his mana to remove the heavy pressure.
"Lord Bellator, to what do I owe this pleasure?" He forced a smile, his arms wide open as he offered a humble greeting to the visitor.
Namgung Ri and his wife furrowed their eyebrows when they saw the flattering look on the Carefree Duke’s face.
They had never seen the old man reveal this kind of expression before.
Bellator sent Namgung Ilsun a contemptuous smile. "Old man, let’s skip the nonsense. I know you don’t like me."
Namgung Ilsun’s smile stiffened upon hearing this.
"How could that be? I treat you with so much respect, Lord Bellator. We may have started on the wrong foot, but the misunderstanding has already been cleared."
Bellator smirked coldly and asked in a playful tone. "Are you saying that you don’t resent your grandson’s killer?"
Hearing this, Namgung Ilsun’s shoulder trembled, his emotions fluctuating.
"What?! You’re the man who killed my son?!" Namgung Ri flew into a rage. He was about to jump at him, but Namgung Ilsun stopped him.
"Stop!"
Namgung Ri glared at Bellator as he shouted. "Father, I want to kill him! I must avenge my son!"
He released a stream of mana in an attempt to escape from his father’s grasp, but Namgung Ilsun held him tightly.
"Namgung Ri!" The Carefree Duke was shaking with anger.
While the father and son were arguing, Bellator watched the scene unfold, seemingly amused.
He clapped his hands as he laughed with a mocking expression.
"Namgung Ilsun, your son has more backbone than you."
The Carefree Duke’s face contorted with rage. He released his son’s arm and turned his head to Bellator, his eyes looking cold. "Lord Bellator, please don’t embarrass me in front of my children. I may be weaker than you, but I can still hurt you if I use all my strength."
As he said those words, he released an oppressive aura that was targeted at Bellator.
The wave of mana fluctuated intensely, causing the air to twist and turn.
Namgung Ri shielded his wife as he observed the situation. He could sense that his father was preparing to take action.
Realizing this, he made a hand gesture to the warriors of the Carefree Duke Estate. It was a command to surround the intruder.
The trained warriors quickly grabbed their weapons and surrounded Bellator. They pointed their weapons at him as they circulated their mana, waiting for the command to attack.
Facing the hostile gazes of the warriors, Bellator remained unperturbed. His eyes were calm. He looked completely unbothered.
With a snort, he raised his right arm and summoned his flaming divine spear.
As soon as the burning spear materialized out of thin air, the temperature suddenly rose. The scorching heat made everyone subconsciously step back.
"It’s him! The Flame Spear Heavenly Demon!" Cried out the warriors who recognized the divine spear. Some of them were present when Bellator attacked the Carefree Duke estate some time ago.
Namgung Ilsun flinched at the sight of this spear. He waved his hand and shouted to his son and daughter-in-law. "Leave! Leave the country!"
After saying that, he summoned his domain and released a terrifying wave of mana.
At this moment, Namgung Ri finally understood why his father was afraid of this man.
This guy... he is someone beyond Mythical Knight!
A sense of urgency welled up in him. He scooped his terrified wife and rushed out of the scene without hesitation.
Several warriors followed the couple, circling them in a protective formation.
Bellator glanced at them, but Namgung Ilsun quickly blocked his view and said. "I won’t let you hurt them."
Looking at the old man’s determined eyes, Bellator chuckled. "Your son has some strength, but I don’t think they can get away with the number of warriors they have. You see, I didn’t come here alone."
Hearing this, the Carefree Duke’s eyes shot upward. "You! Are you planning to eliminate my House Namgung?!"
Bellator shrugged. "I’m just following orders."
A touch of panic flashed in Namgung Ilsun’s eyes.
"Lord Bellator, why do this? I already intend on submitting to His Majesty’s rule. There is no need for this needless fight!" He shouted.
Bellator sneered as he responded. "Namgung Ilsun, you are a smart man. You should know by now why His Majesty has made this decision."
The Carefree Duke frowned as he analyzed the situation.
I thought Alaric wanted to recruit me. What changed his mind?
Suddenly, a thought occurred to him.
Is it because of his unborn child? Is he worried that I might do something to his child?
Noticing the change in his expression, Bellator spoke. "Did you finally realize it?"
Namgung Ilsun could no longer hide his fear. He raised his hands in surrender and tried to negotiate. "Wait! Please give me a chance to speak with His Majesty! There must be a misunderstanding somewhere!"
I can’t die here! I just advanced recently! I still have so much to do and accomplish!
Bellator sighed and shook his head. "It’s no use. His Majesty has already made up his mind."
With a cold look, he stared at Namgung Ilsun. "Your very existence is a threat to the heir of Veronica. Letting you live is risky. Old man, you shouldn’t have been greedy from the start. You only have yourself to blame for the tragedy that will follow."
"Don’t resent me too much."
In the next moment, Bellator threw the flaming divine spear.
It drew a line of fire in the air, looking like a dazzling comet.
