Chapter 690: Bellator at His Peak

Half a day later, Alaric’s family and their entourage finally arrived at Greenwood Kingdom. They were welcomed by Galanar and several of the kingdom’s respected elders.

After greeting Alaric’s parents, the elven king turned to Alaric and smiled at him. "It has been a while, Alaric. I heard of your tales in Veronica from my daughter."

His tone carried a hint of praise and appreciation. From his expression, everyone could tell that he was pleased with his son-in-law’s performance.

Alaric smiled and responded humbly. "You are exaggerating, Your Majesty."

While he was chatting with his father-in-law, he noticed someone staring intently at him.

Hm?

It was Rosalie Greenwood, the Supreme Elder of the kingdom. To his amazement, she had already advanced and become a Mythical Knight! Moreover, there was a big leap in her attributes.

He wondered what she had experienced for her strength to improve so drastically in just several years.

Why is she giving me that kind of look?

Alaric felt a bit uncomfortable by the unusual stare she gave him. He nodded awkwardly at her and went to greet the other high elves.

They were already familiar with Alaric. They had fought together with him and his father, so they all respected House Silversword.

The elves might be known for their pride and arrogance, but they were also the type to never forget gratitude.

Alaric’s family was escorted to a newly built treehouse, which was quite far from the king’s. This was specifically arranged to prevent the groom from meeting the bride.

To the elves, it was a sign of bad omen if the groom met the bride before the wedding ceremony. In some cases, they even canceled the wedding since they believed it would be an ill-fated union.

To prevent such things from happening for this event, the elves deliberately arranged for Alaric’s family to stay further from the king’s treehouse.

"I hope you don’t mind the arrangement," Garandel explained the situation to prevent misunderstandings.

Alaric and his family didn’t think much of it.

"Tomorrow, an elder will come here to teach you how the ceremony will proceed. For now, you all should settle down." The king made some small talk with them before he excused himself.

As soon as the elven king’s group left, the servants entered to arrange their luggage.

"The air here is really refreshing," Maria remarked as she looked at the dense greenery beyond the window.

Jade Kristine stood next to her and nodded in agreement. "The mana here is also very thick. If an ordinary person were to live here, they would live to more than a hundred years old."

This wasn’t an exaggeration on her part. The only reason humans don’t dare to live here was because of the presence of dangerous monsters and creatures.

Lucas stood up and said. "I will look for His Majesty, the Astanian Emperor. We have a lot to catch up."

He then looked at his son and asked. "Are you coming with me?"

Alaric thought for a moment before shaking his head. "I will stay here."

"Alright." Lucas didn’t insist. He bid farewell to his wives before he left together with his confidants.

While his mothers were immersed in the calmness of the forest, Alaric decided to step out of the treehouse.

Bellator, who was following him, suddenly commented. "The elves here are weaker compared to those on the mainland."

Feeling curious, Alaric asked. "Are the elves on the mainland powerful?"

The others who were walking with them perked up.

Bellator nodded. "The elves are born with high affinity with multiple elements. They are also inherently talented in controlling mana. With their gifts, it is only natural for them to excel."

He paused, his expression turning serious as he continued. "In the mainland of Cangnan, there exists a mother tree which the elves call Jianmuldier. It is an ancient tree that has existed for thousands of years. It’s so massive that you can no longer see its peak."

"That tree gave birth to the Avariels, the purest of the elven bloodline and the most powerful of elves. At birth, Avariels are in the Unfettered realm!"

Everyone gasped when they heard this.

"The strongest Avariel to ever exist is also a Paragon, but I am not sure if she is still alive." Bellator’s voice revealed a hint of longing when he mentioned this.

Seeing the dreamy look in his eyes, Alaric wanted to ask him more about this Avariel that he mentioned, but before he could say something, Bellator spoke.

"Don’t ask. The trees will notify her if we mention her name. That’s all I can tell you about her."

Hearing this, Alaric and the others were startled.

Bellator seemed a bit nervous. He never showed this kind of face before.

They wondered what kind of being could make him reveal this kind of emotion.

"Anyway, the elves on the mainland are powerful. Even the divine factions wouldn’t dare carelessly provoke them." Bellator changed the topic.

"How about you, Lord Bellator? How strong were you at your peak?" Alaric asked. He wanted to ask this for a long time, but the other would always brush him off with countless excuses.

Bellator paused his steps, his eyes narrowing as he looked up to the sky. "Above the Beyonder are experts who can split mountains and seas. They are called Supremes. At my peak, I was at that level..."

"Heroic..."

"Unfettered..."

"Beyonder...

"Supreme..."

Alaric and the others were stunned.

Nivis also mentioned that she was a few levels above Heroic during her peak. I should find her later and ask her about this.

As the group chatted, they later found themselves in the training camp of younger elves. To avoid disturbing the young elves, they concealed their auras and quietly observed the training.

"They are still young, but their mana control is already at an admirable level. The so-called veterans in our lands would be ashamed if they saw those kids." One of Alaric’s subordinates commented with a sigh.

"How about I find myself an elven wife so my kids would be born with great potential?" Another one remarked in a joking tone.

Alaric ignored them and just silently observed the training camp.
