Chapter 159: Chapter 159: Sister Wanwan, Sister Wanwan

The children looked at each other, then one by one nodded in agreement. "We understand, Sister Wanwan."

"Such good kids." Hua Buwan patted their heads again. Their hair was so soft; the more she ruffled it, the more she wanted to keep petting them.

"Come, I’ll treat you to some snacks. After you finish eating, I’ll take you home. How does that sound?" Hua Buwan scanned the group.

Hearing about the snacks, the children nodded excitedly. "Yes, yes, yes! We’ll listen to you, Sister Wanwan."

With that, Hua Buwan led the group of little munchkins into the supermarket. She deliberately walked a bit slower, checking if there were any other groups of unfortunate kids in the distance. Luckily, there was no one else around—just this bunch of little rascals.

When the children reached the supermarket entrance, they stared unblinkingly at the things on the table.

Hua Buwan hurriedly said, "You can’t eat these. Let me take you inside to pick something else." The items on the table were offerings for her grandparents; it wouldn’t be proper to let the children eat them.

The kids didn’t make a fuss. They nodded eagerly, like little chickens pecking at rice. "Okay." ℯℯ𝑙.

And so, Hua Buwan led the group of white-clad children into the supermarket.

Little did they know that outside, a passerby who had just gotten off work and was heading to the supermarket to buy a few things happened to glance over. In that instant, their whole world collapsed!

Screams and shrieks echoed endlessly.

"AHHH! So many ghost kids! AHHHH!"

"I’ve seen a ghost! I’m doomed! WAAAH! Mom! Mom!!!"

Hua Buwan was busy helping the kids choose their snacks when the screams from outside made her shudder in fright. She turned to look out the door, but there wasn’t a single soul in sight. Only the fading echo of the scream lingered in the empty alleyway.

She muttered a quick prayer under her breath, "No offense meant, no harm done..."

"Sister Wanwan, can I have this pudding? I just want one, please?"

"Sister Wanwan, can I get that sausage?"

"Sister Wanwan~"

Having picked out their treats, the children all raised their little heads and called out to her. Hua Buwan felt like she was drowning in a sea of "Sister Wanwan"s.

She immediately shifted her attention back to the kids and helped them gather their snacks. The children were incredibly well-behaved. None were greedy; they each happily stopped after choosing just one small item.

Seeing how adorable they were, Hua Buwan quickly washed some cherry tomatoes and grapes for them to eat. They gathered around the counter as she brought out all the red plastic stools from the stairwell for them to sit on, laying the food and drinks out one by one on the table.

"Hehe, sit in a row, eat your fruit," Hua Buwan couldn’t help but chant playfully as she looked at the munchkins sitting in front of her.

One of the older children picked up two pieces of fruit, handed one to Hua Buwan, and chimed in, "One for you and one for me, happy as can be!"

Watching her slice a watermelon for them, the children began singing another nursery rhyme in unison.

"Big watermelon, oh so sweet, a tasty treat we all want to eat~"

"Slice it up and share it out, the best flavor without a doubt~"

Listening to their innocent voices, Hua Buwan couldn’t resist singing along. When they reached the chorus, she playfully added, "Ask mommy what to do, a watermelon is growing on my head too~"

The kids burst into giggles at her antics, and Hua Buwan laughed so hard she had to clutch her stomach.

Everyone got a slice of watermelon and munched on it happily. Once they had eaten and drank their fill, Hua Buwan hurried to escort the children back home. She had just heard noises coming from the ancestral hall—it sounded like the gathering was about to wrap up.
