Stockpiling for an Exiled General Through My Store's Back Door
Chapter 219: Speak
Chapter 219: Chapter 219: Speak
After inquiring at one shop, she turned and headed to the next, repeating the process tirelessly.
Finally, after a detailed investigation, Hua Buwan slowly walked back to where the Ling Family was waiting. Parting her lips, she relayed the selling prices of the various types of seafood she had gathered in full detail to everyone.
Listening to the numbers Hua Buwan reported, the rest of the Ling family gradually felt more confident. After all, as newcomers to Lingnan, they were completely ignorant of the local seafood prices. If they were to trade blindly, it was highly likely they would be fleeced by unscrupulous merchants. But now, thanks to the "market research" Hua Buwan had done in advance, they had a general grasp of the market. They could be well-prepared and confident, avoiding a passive position when bargaining.
Furthermore, through her conversations with the various shop owners and clerks, Hua Buwan had astutely noticed some subtle differences. For instance, some shopkeepers were warm and sincere, offering relatively reasonable prices, while others seemed cold and dismissive, even faintly revealing an intent to hike up their margins.
Taking all these factors into consideration, the Ling family ultimately locked their sights on a store called Chen’s Seafood Shop. As for the other shops, they were temporarily excluded from their choices. Hua Buwan had mentioned that upon entering some of these shops, certain Shopkeepers hadn’t even deigned to look her in the eye, while some clerks merely glanced at her before lazily sprawling out to yawn. From such attitudes, one could easily deduce their way of doing business.
The Ling family had always trusted Hua Buwan implicitly, so they decisively chose the shop she favored and walked in. The moment they stepped through the door, the clerk quickly stepped forward, his face wreathed in smiles as he enthusiastically greeted the group.
However, Hua Buwan did not follow them inside. She firmly believed that with the capabilities of Ling Qianjun and the others, they would definitely be able to successfully sell their fresh catch.
At that moment, she stood quietly outside the shop, her gaze slowly sweeping over the street vendors on both sides. It was still early in the morning, yet various food stalls had already set up for business. A dazzling array of unique Lingnan snacks practically lined the entire street.
Sniffing the rich, fragrant aromas drifting through the air, Hua Buwan felt the enticing scents drilling straight into her nose. It made her mouth water so much that she couldn’t help swallowing repeatedly. She sighed inwardly, "It smells so good!"
Like a curious giraffe, she craned her fair, slender neck, her bright, expressive eyes darting around as she surveyed her surroundings. Suddenly, her attention was caught by a small stall not far ahead. Plumes of smoke were rising from it, accompanied by a continuous SIZZLE.
It turned out someone was skillfully grilling fresh oysters there! Under the heat of the charcoal fire, the oysters were gradually turning golden and crispy. The various seasonings brushed on top made them emit a mouth-watering, captivating aroma.
Hua Buwan couldn’t help but steal a glance and thought to herself, "Wow, these oysters look so tempting!
"And the price doesn’t seem too expensive, either. One copper coin gets you a savory grilled oyster, and if you buy ten at once, you actually get an extra one for free!"
