Chapter 225: Chapter 225: The Moment to Witness a Miracle
SWISH, SWISH, SWISH. A soft yet rapid sound echoed, resembling the rustling of leaves when the wind swept through a forest. Yet, at this moment, the noise was exceptionally striking.
Accompanying the sound, everyone’s gaze was drawn to Hua Buwan like iron to a magnet, turning toward her in perfect unison. Eyes wide, the onlookers stared unblinkingly at the water pouch and rain boots in her hands. Their expressions were so intensely focused it seemed they feared missing even the slightest movement or detail.
Curiosity truly was an innate human trait. Passersby and those originally busy with their own errands noticed the massive crowd gathering and immediately realized there was a spectacle to behold. Although they had no idea what was going on, their inquisitive nature drove them to unconsciously squeeze toward the center, all wanting a closer look to figure out what was happening.
In the blink of an eye, Hua Buwan’s stall was packed several layers deep. The dense crowd formed a thick, human wall, tightly encircling her. People craned their necks and stood on their tiptoes, peering inward in a desperate attempt to catch a glimpse of the action through the narrow gaps between bodies.
However, with the sheer number of bodies, some couldn’t squeeze into the core area no matter how hard they tried, leaving them to fret on the outskirts. But their curiosity didn’t diminish in the slightest. Instead, they began looking around for help. A few lucky ones found kind souls willing to hoist them up, giving them a vantage point to overlook the entire scene. Those who couldn’t find a helper had to settle for the next best thing—lifting up their own relatives or children, instructing them to observe carefully and report back on what was happening inside.
At that moment, two government officers patrolling the area also noticed the unusual commotion. They exchanged a look, seemingly confirming their judgment of the situation, before breaking into a swift stride and hurrying toward the gathered crowd as fast as they could.
Standing before her meticulously arranged stall, Hua Buwan kept her eyes locked on the flow of pedestrians. Her heart was filled with a mix of anticipation and nerves. After all, today was this stall’s trial run, and she worried about any unexpected hiccups.
But as she saw the throngs of people gathering in front of her, the corners of her mouth curled upward uncontrollably, almost reaching her ears. Even if only a third of these people bought something, her entire inventory would sell out. There was no need to worry about revenue now. Her smile was as bright as a blooming spring flower, radiating joy and satisfaction.
Beside her, the Ling family was somewhat stunned. They hadn’t anticipated such a massive turnout at all. For a moment, they were intimidated by the bustling crowd, standing frozen in place, unsure of what to do. It wasn’t until Hua Buwan’s enthusiastic greetings rang in their ears that they snapped out of their daze.
"Come take a look! Our newly released rain boots work perfectly!" Hua Buwan hawked loudly, expertly demonstrating the boots’ unique features.
She swiftly poured clean water from the pouch onto the exterior of the rain boots. A miraculous scene unfolded—as if blocked by an invisible barrier, the water glided smoothly down the surface, not a single drop seeping into the interior.
