Chapter 254: Chapter 254: You Got Caught, Didn’t You?
Ling Qianjun sat there quietly, his gaze gently resting on the three of them. His eyes revealed a hint of patience and understanding, as if waiting for them to figure it out on their own. The three fell deep into thought, their expressions varying. As time ticked by minute by minute, Ling Qianjun refrained from interrupting them. He knew they needed ample time and space to process everything right now.
Finally, the three pairs of eyes returned to him. A newfound firmness and determination filled their gazes, as if they were fully prepared. Ling Qianjun smiled faintly. "Have you all seen it clearly?"
The three exchanged glances and nodded.
Ling Qianjun looked resolutely at the missing parts on the paper, his eyes reflecting absolute focus. He picked up a pen, lightly tapped a few locations, and signaled for Xu Panqing, Ling Qianfan, and Ling Yunge to look.
"We’ll start here," he said, pointing to the first location. The three gathered around, listening carefully to his arrangements. "This is just the beginning. We still have a lot more work to do."
The three nodded in unison, ready to tackle the tasks ahead. Once they had finalized their discussion, they put away the notebooks, having already memorized the mapped-out locations.
Ling Qianjun estimated the time in his head and figured it was about right, so he strode toward the magical Any Door. When he gently pushed it open, the interior of the supermarket appeared before his eyes. However, to his surprise, the entire place was unusually quiet. Not even the slightest sound could be heard. Confused, he looked toward the front entrance, only to see the heavy doors tightly shut as if they had never been opened.
He couldn’t help but frown, wondering if Hua Buwan was away or if she was still fast asleep in her second-floor bedroom. After a brief moment of hesitation, he decided to head up the stairs to investigate. Just as he reached the second floor, Hua Buwan happened to open her bedroom door.
The two unexpectedly bumped right into each other.
Hua Buwan let out a huge yawn, staring blankly and groggily at Ling Qianjun. After rubbing her sleepy eyes hard, she finally confirmed that the person standing at her door was indeed him.
Suddenly, as if realizing something, she hastily covered her cheeks with both hands. A deeply embarrassed look crossed her face as she apologized. "Oh my! I didn’t expect you to come so early. I haven’t even had time to wash up yet. I’m so sorry! Please wait for me for just a moment."
With that, sporting a messy bedhead that looked like a bird’s nest, she sprinted hurriedly toward the downstairs bathroom.
Watching her fleeing figure, Ling Qianjun couldn’t help but curve his lips into an amused smile. "It’s fine. No rush, take your time," he called out.
Hearing his voice only made Hua Buwan feel even more awkward. She gave a simple "Mhm," and shut the bathroom door.
Catching a glimpse of the sleep crust in her eyes in the mirror, Hua Buwan felt as if a bolt of lightning had struck her right on the head. She hurriedly turned on the tap, cupped the clean water in her hands, and splashed it rapidly over her face. After scrubbing her face two or three times to ensure it was thoroughly clean, she finally turned off the faucet.
