Chapter 1028: Arrival of the Second Tier-9 Beast

Wilderness (5th Zone)

Screeech!

The Tier-8 Golden Eagle received the command. It flew away from the area, heading toward the source of the noise.

It didn’t take long for the Golden Eagle to locate it.

A massive Black Dart Frog with a shoulder height of over 10 meters was moving toward the border of the wilderness.

Boom!

The noise came from the frog hopping from one place to another. As the beast moved forward, it generated a massive rumble.

Screech!

The Tier-8 Golden Eagle circled in midair, observing the beast with its sharp vision while simultaneously sharing its sight with the Beast Tamer.

Meanwhile, everyone was looking toward Elder John. They had watched the Tier-8 Golden Eagle leave the area, realizing the beast had gone to investigate the disturbance.

Elder John received the shared vision from his Lifeline Beast. He saw the massive frog, standing over 10 meters tall at the shoulder and weighing an estimated ten tons.

Elder John’s expression turned grim. He could tell from its size alone that the Black Dart Frog was a Tier-9 Beast.

Not just any beast, but a rare Tier-9 Poisonous Beast. Even he didn’t know such a beast could be found in the 4th Zone.

The 4th Zone’s wilderness and the land beyond were known to be far more dangerous than the 5th Zone, yet here were two Tier-9 Beasts advancing toward them.

There had to be a reason. What was drawing these Tier-9 Beasts to the wilderness? If they continued along their current trajectory, their path would collide directly with the city.

Elder Allen and Elder Smith noticed that Elder John’s face had darkened. City Governor Martin and the others were looking toward him as well.

Head Harold knew Elder John was an elder of Jeremy Night and regarded him as a capable Beast Tamer. The Head of the Beast Taming Association and the Dean of Central University were present as well.

Elder John then commanded his Lifeline Beast to return. It needed to focus on the Tier-9 Earth Lizard first; there was still some time before the Tier-9 Black Dart Frog arrived.

Screeech!

The Tier-8 Golden Eagle received the command, circling once in midair before heading back toward the border.

At the same time, Elder John touched his forehead. He looked toward Elder Allen and Elder Smith, collecting his thoughts before saying, "A Tier-9 Black Dart Frog is slowly advancing toward the wilderness."

Gasp!

Several gasps could be heard.

Elder Allen and Elder Smith were shocked. They knew the capabilities of the vision-sharing ability, John could see with absolute clarity. If he said it was a Black Dart Frog, then it was a Black Dart Frog.

"Why is this beast moving toward the wilderness?" Allen asked.

"Did the lizard call for help?" Smith uttered.

"Tier-9 Beasts are solitary. They don’t team up; they fight to the death," Allen replied.

Head Harold’s heart sank. He hadn’t wanted another beast to appear, nor had he expected the improved beast powder to attract a second Tier-9 beast so quickly.

And a poisonous one at that—it posed a far greater threat than the Tier-9 Earth Lizard with its earth-element abilities.

City Governor Martin clenched his fists. This was a man-made catastrophe. He now realized the organization had truly succeeded in concocting something sinister.

The other two new Governors remained silent. They had been promoted from the 7th and 8th Zones to come here, but they had never anticipated the situation would be this dire.

Facing two Tier-9 Beasts at once meant that if both attacked, there would be nothing left of the city. They would have to rebuild from scratch.

Because Martin was the senior official, they listened to him and kept quiet. The others, however, were not so patient.

The Head of the Beast Taming Association and the Dean of Central University had finally reached their limit.

"Governor Martin, are you going to delay any further?"

"Is there a reason why these Tier-9 Beasts are being drawn toward the wilderness?" the Head of the Beast Taming Association demanded.

"Yes, Governor Martin. You are hiding something from us," the Dean of Central University added. "It’s time for you to tell us."

Their sudden confrontation stunned the onlookers. These two were leaders of major institutions.

Elder John, Allen, and Smith were taken aback by the accusation; they knew something was wrong, but they hadn’t expected the Governor to be directly aware of the cause.

Governor Martin’s face darkened. He could not disclose the truth without authorization. The other two Governors stayed quiet.

Head Harold watched the exchange, unwilling to let Governor Martin be backed into a corner.

Stepping forward, he said, "He cannot disclose anything without permission from the Human Alliance."

"If you want answers, demand them from the Human Alliance directly. I’m sure both of your headquarters in the 1st Zone can obtain them."

Quiet!

Silence fell over the group. The Head of the Beast Taming Association and the Dean of Central University had not anticipated Head Harold intervening.

Elder John frowned, disliking the infighting.

"Everyone, we can discuss this matter later," Elder John intervened. "Right now, we must focus on the task at hand. We need to stop the Tier-9 Black Dart Frog from advancing. I hope you will all step in."

Hearing that, Martin collected himself. He decided to act now.

"Head Harold, Governors, follow me," Martin ordered.

Swoosh!

With that, he rushed off toward the land beyond the border, followed closely by Head Harold and the other two Governors.

In the blink of an eye, they departed, leaving behind the family heads and the leaders of the two major organizations.

The family heads were self-serving and eager to avoid danger; if they fell here, their families would rapidly decline.

Yet they could not entirely ignore the crisis. A few began trailing Governor Martin to provide support from the rear.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Beast Taming Association and the Dean of Central University remained behind, preparing to support the special base elders in dealing with the Tier-9 Earth Lizard.
