Chapter 1054: Part 3: The Uncharted Barren Land

Wilderness (Special Base)

Shriek!

The Tier-7 Gray Spider was injured. One of its legs was bleeding terribly. The spider was enraged. It hadn’t expected the weak human Beast Tamer to injure it.

It was caught off guard. I couldn’t believe it. Its eight spider eyes saw the blade weapon in the hands of the human.

It thought that something was wrong with the blade. It decided to stay away from the blade, but it wouldn’t let the tiny human get away.

Swoosh!

The Spider Beast bolted out from the place again. Its speed was faster than before, and it was also giving off powerful pressure.

The pressure alone should have crushed the human, but it noticed that the human was able to move under the pressure. This further confused the beast.

Boom!

When it got closer, it shot spiderwebs at the target. The large spiderwebs flew even faster.

The spiderwebs were so large they could trap lower-tier corrupted beasts easily. If a human got stuck, it would be impossible to escape.

Swoosh!

Jeremy Night was ready to target another leg. Once the legs were injured, he doubted whether the beast would still chase him.

Yet he saw the spiderwebs coming at him.

[Use the starlight power to cut those webs. I’m going to use a psychic attack on the beast’s mind.]

Jeremy heard Stella’s voice. He felt confident. He knew Stella had saved him against the Tier-7 Worm Beast earlier. Now she was doing it again.

Cut!

Jeremy Night started using advanced blade moves. He is not going to use any blade techniques against the starlight threads.

He raised his head and saw the large spiderwebs. There was no escaping them; their span was massive.

He started slashing at the threads while using his eye power. The blade came in contact with the threads and easily cut through them.

After making one slash, he continued to make continuous slashes around him, creating a huge gap in the spiderwebs.

Shriek!

The Tier-7 massive spider thought it had caught its prey, but the human was using the same weapon to cut down the threads.

Seeing that, the Gray Spider was enraged. It hadn’t expected the human to evade the attack.

Just then, the Gray Spider was about to attack again.

Stella released her psychic attack. A tidal wave of mental power rushed toward the Gray Spider’s head.

Boom!

A power that came out of nowhere struck its mind, as if a huge mountain had collided into its brain. For a second, the massive body of the spider froze on the spot.

Shriek!

The Gray Spider felt terrible pain—so much so that it forgot about the human. It let out a shriek and rushed away from the place.

Boom!

It didn’t take long for the beast to disappear from sight. Jeremy Night was able to get out of the spiderweb through the gap by then.

[I have used up my strength. If you come across a Tier-7 Beast again, don’t confront it.]

After saying that, Stella went back into recovery mode. Jeremy then noticed natural energy flowing into the beast egg.

Sigh!

Jeremy Night heaved a sigh of relief. He then looked ahead and saw a dust storm in the distance. He figured it must have been caused by the movement of the Tier-7 Gray Spider.

His expression turned solemn. He didn’t want the beast to come back. He wouldn’t have Stella’s help then, as she might take a few hours to recover.

Swoosh!

Jeremy Night then left the place and headed toward the border. After crossing half a mile, he returned to the border.

He took the helmet device out and put it on his head. He pressed the button and began to walk along the stretch. He could only see barren land on this side.

If he came across anything interesting, he decided he would explore the place.

As time passed, he covered more of the border stretch. But barren land appeared area after area; he hadn’t seen any green patches so far.

Not only that, but he was also paying attention to the movement of corrupted beasts. He hadn’t seen one so far.

Stella was taking time to recover. He found that she was absorbing the natural energy non-stop.

Right then, he caught something in his zoomed-in vision. It was greenery on the other side. He analyzed it; it had to be two miles from the previous spot. He had managed to find greenery in the end.

Seeing that, Jeremy Night decided to explore. But first, he used his eye power to scan the surroundings. He didn’t detect any movement.

From Stella’s advice, he understood that the abilities of a Tier-7 Beast and above should not be underestimated.

So, he decided not to use any movement techniques so as not to cause any loud vibrations. He was going to walk slowly on foot. But under the scorching heat, he was getting dehydrated.

He checked the helmet device; it was on. Slowly, he approached the greenery area. He saw that the ground was not so cracked anymore.

Small green patches could be seen on the ground.

Meeting Hall

Elder John and the other elders of the base had gathered here. Elder Sandra held reports in her hands, preparing to discuss the training plans.

"I want to know whether any last-minute preparations can be done. Is there any Beast Tamer in the third year who is in need of resources?" Sandra asked.

If anyone broke through at the last minute, it would be good news for them.

Hearing that, the elders started giving their opinions one by one.

In the meeting, Elder Smith and Elder Leah were present as well.

Leah thought this meeting was an indicator of whether the forces were going to come or not.

If Elder Sandra was holding this meeting right now, then the representatives from the top three forces could come here sooner.

She could expect the announcement of the date soon.

She was not the only one thinking this; the other elders had the same thought. But no one asked directly.
