Seeing the ambulance driving over, the two exchanged a glance and stepped forward to meet it.

The ambulance stopped, the door opened, and Liu San jumped out nimbly, his face showing the fatigue of a sleepless night, but his spirits were high.

Seeing Fang Qingyu, he immediately called out respectfully yet familiarly, "Brother Yu!"

Fang Qingyu nodded and looked past him.

Gazing into the open door of the ambulance.

A stretcher lay inside quietly, and on it was the unconscious figure of Lei Meng.

His face was still pale.

But his breathing was steady, clearly having received good care.

"San," Fang Qingyu’s gaze returned to Liu San’s face, with a hint of inquiry, "Are you sure Lei Meng will want to leave here with us?"

Upon hearing this, Liu San immediately straightened his back, thumping his chest with certainty, "Brother Yu, don’t worry! I guarantee it."

"Though Boss Lei hasn’t said so while awake, I’ve been his brother for many years."

"When he gets drunk and talks nonsense in his dreams, it’s all about his days in the Federation Army."

"Saying things like not dying on the Arctic Front fighting Life Ghost was a disgrace! Saying he’d like to wear the uniform once more if given the chance! He dreams of going back."

"Moreover, all of us old brothers are leaving, whether he’s conscious or not, he’d crawl if he had to to follow us. I, Liu San, guarantee it with my head!"

Listening to Liu San’s words.

The last bit of doubt in Fang Qingyu’s heart also dissipated.

He nodded, a gentle smile appearing on his face, "Alright, take him on board, Wei Banmeng has already arranged the medical berth."

"Yes! Thank you, Brother Yu!"

Liu San grinned and turned to direct the medical personnel to carefully lift the stretcher off the vehicle and head toward the gangway.

Fang Qingyu and Jiang Wei watched the stretcher leave, retreating back into the shadows at the pier’s edge.

Trying not to interfere with the large crowd boarding the ship.

Though the sky remained dark, the port was as bright as day.

The scene of thousands boarding was grand and noisy.

As Fang Qingyu quietly waited, his thoughts drifting toward the impending journey.

A figure somewhat stealthily emerged from the shadows of the crowd.

Approaching the position where he and Jiang Wei stood.

Though in darkness, under Fang Qingyu’s Starry Eyes, everything was laid bare.

It was a young boy appearing to be only seventeen or eighteen, tall and thin, dressed in a worn, washed-out combat uniform, his face tense and anxious, yet his eyes were clear, with no hint of hostility or malice.

Fang Qingyu didn’t move, merely watching him quietly.

Jiang Wei also noticed, her gaze calmly scanning over.

The young boy ducked his head, carefully threading through the gaps in the crowd, stopping only a few steps away from Fang Qingyu.

He suddenly looked up, meeting the calm gazes of Fang Qingyu and Jiang Wei.

His ears turned red all of a sudden.

Nervously, he didn’t know where to put his hands and feet.

"Capt... Captain Fang..."

The boy’s voice was noticeably trembling, he took several deep breaths, summoning the courage to lift his head, his gaze meeting Fang Qingyu’s, trying hard to make his voice stop shaking, "Excuse... me, are you... still recruiting?"

Fang Qingyu was slightly taken aback, not expecting the young boy to approach in the dark just to volunteer to leave with them.

He looked the boy up and down, his aura indicating Tier Two, with a solid foundation.

With interest, he asked, "Why do you want to come with me? Do you know where we’re going, what we’re going to do?"

The boy blushed even more when asked, holding back for a long while before boldly stating, "Because... because my dad says you’re a hero!"

His voice rose in excitement.

Attracting glances from a few people not far away.

He paused for a moment, then continued, "My dad says what you did in the City of Injustice is paving a way for humanity’s future, he says the city’s willingness to reform, to purge those tumors, is all because of you, because you came and did those things. He says... we who were born and raised in the City of Injustice owe you an enormous debt of gratitude!"

The boy’s voice was filled with genuine admiration and excitement, "So... so I want to follow you! I want to repay this favor! I want... to do something truly meaningful like you, I don’t want to stay here forever!"

The boy’s monologue was simple yet fervent.

Filled with the unique passion and yearning of youth.

Fang Qingyu listened quietly, a ripple stirring in his heart.

He hadn’t expected that in this city.

There were ordinary people who could see and appreciate the significance behind his actions.

"Oh?" Fang Qingyu’s tone softened a bit, "Does your dad know you sneaked out to find me tonight? Does he support you leaving with me?"

He couldn’t quite believe that an ordinary father would so easily allow his son to follow a leader whose future was uncertain and could face battles at any moment.

"He knows! He’s very supportive!"

The boy nodded earnestly, fearing Fang Qingyu wouldn’t believe him, he hurriedly pulled out a piece of neatly folded, frayed-edged paper from his inner pocket, pressed against his chest.

Holding it with both hands, he offered it respectfully to Fang Qingyu, his eyes filled with anticipation, "Look! My dad wrote this! He even signed it!"

Fang Qingyu took the paper, still warm from the boy’s body.

The paper was ordinary, seemingly torn from a notebook.

Unfolding it revealed content written in an awkward but earnest handwriting.

It described the basics of this young man.

Named Xia Ze, 17 years old, Martial Arts Grandmaster.
