Chapter 1012 - 370: Frontline Unwritten Rules Vanish, Shall We Build Our Own City!? (Part 3)

This proposal sounds quite pragmatic.

It immediately brightened the eyes of Qi Hao, Old Qin, and others who had been frowning.

"This method is great!" Qi Hao couldn’t help but speak out, "The pressure is shared, and people are being utilized."

"Exactly!" Hao Zi also nodded, "With people in the rear, the brothers on the front line can feel at ease!"

Wei Banmeng, deep in thought, showed a hint of movement on her cool face.

This indeed seems to be the most feasible plan at the moment.

It fully utilizes their numerical advantage.

And it aligns with the militarized management characteristics of the Arctic Front.

However, a gentle voice suddenly spoke up.

"I object."

Everyone turned to the source of the voice, it was Su Wanqing.

She frowned slightly, "Nine Abyss’ plan sounds reasonable, but it overlooks the most critical point."

Her gaze swept over everyone, "Why did our more than ten thousand people, especially the eight thousand new recruits, abandon everything in the City of Injustice to follow us?"

"It’s because of their trust in Qingzi, and the sense of belonging to this group represented by Qingzi."

"It’s the hope to leave that quagmire and find a new home."

"Now, just as they disembark, we want to scatter them, throw them into different cities, into different spheres of influence? What do they become? Wandering outsiders? Dispersed parts?"

Su Wanqing paused, looking at Lu Jiuyuan: "Yes, a rotation system can be established. But if their hearts are scattered, the team won’t be easy to lead. Over time, those who are scattered and relocated in the rear cities, away from the core, away from Qingzi, away from their comrades in arms, what will they think?"

"Will they feel forgotten, abandoned as burdens? Will they be lured away or divided by local forces? Will this breed resentment or even cause a loss of unity? I feel that doing this entails too much hidden danger."

Su Wanqing’s words immediately pierced the slight optimism that had just arisen.

The calmness on Lu Jiuyuan’s face froze as well. He was silent for a moment and then slowly nodded, "Wanqing, you’re right to have such concerns. It’s my oversight. I only saw tactical convenience, neglecting the foundation of cohesion."

He admitted his oversight.

Wei Banmeng’s recently relaxed brows furrowed again.

Su Wanqing had pinpointed the core issue.

The Cyan Dragon Gang was able to break out from the City of Injustice and unite these tens of thousands of people because of the iconic figure of Fang Qingyu and the centripetal force forged through shared experiences.

Dividing the forces would be like destroying the Great Wall.

The room fell into an even deeper silence again.

Chu Kuanglan paced back and forth irritably, his heavy footsteps thudding on the carpet.

Dividing the forces isn’t feasible, but then not dividing?

There’s nowhere to settle tens of thousands of people.

"Qingzi."

Jiang Wei, who had been quietly standing by Fang Qingyu’s side, suddenly lifted her clear red eyes, looked at Fang Qingyu, and, with a hint of inspiration, made a startling proposal.

"Why don’t I have Da Lei move the City of Injustice to the front line?"

"Pfft—!"

Qi Hao, who was drinking water, nearly spat it out, choking and coughing repeatedly.

The others widened their eyes at Jiang Wei, as though seeing an alien.

Fang Qingyu was also taken aback by Jiang Wei’s spur-of-the-moment suggestion, his lips twitching slightly as he hurriedly waved his hand, speaking with a slightly helpless smile: "No, no, no! The City Lord is already overwhelmed with internal reforms, let’s not add to his troubles."

He paused, sweeping his gaze over the faces in the room.

Then he stepped forward, moving to the map.

His finger no longer pointed to any existing city.

Instead, it landed on a relatively flat and open blank area behind the Arctic Great Wall Defense Line.

His lips curved into a smile: "Actually, I do have another idea."

Hearing Fang Qingyu’s words, everyone turned their heads to look at Fang Qingyu.

Having fought alongside Fang Qingyu multiple times, they knew Fang Qingyu’s strength was always in combat power.

In regard to other miscellaneous affairs, Fang Qingyu rarely voiced any opinions.

For instance, matters of the Cyan Dragon Gang were always managed by them for Fang Qingyu.

Yet this time, Fang Qingyu had a solution to the problem?

Seeing everyone looking at him, Fang Qingyu smiled and said, "Since no existing city can immediately accommodate so many Transcendents, why don’t we build one ourselves?"

"Build ourselves?!"

"Found a city?!"

"Qingzi, you..."

Exclamations arose instantly.

Everyone thought they had misheard.

Wei Banmeng spoke with exasperation, "Qingzi, do you know how difficult it is to build a city that’s suitable for human survival and has defensive capabilities in this godforsaken place of the Arctic Front?"

"Think about why there have been so few cities on the Arctic Front over the years..."

Her finger quickly traced across the map, her speech rapid: "Extreme low temperatures, permafrost, frequent ice storms, the constant threat of Life Ghost attacks, not to mention construction materials and everything else..."

With each point she raised,

everyone’s faces grew paler.

"The financial, material, human, and technical resources needed are simply an endless abyss."

Wei Banmeng’s voice carried a trace of powerlessness.

The others remained silent.

Clearly, their thoughts were the same as Wei Banmeng’s.

In the extremely harsh conditions of the Arctic Front, building a city suitable for human habitation is incredibly difficult.

And not to mention everything else,

just talking about financial resources,

even with everything they could sell before leaving the City of Injustice,

it would still be far from enough to build a city.

However, the smile on Fang Qingyu’s face did not fade at all, but rather grew deeper.

He looked at Wei Banmeng, then swept his gaze over all the discouraged faces, and leisurely posed the most critical question: "What if someone is willing to fund us, or let’s say, cover most of the costs?"
