Stronger with More Jobs
Chapter 1065 - 383: Preparations Before the Great Battle
Jiang Wei’s cheeks flushed slightly under his gaze.
She let herself lean softly into Fang Qingyu’s arms, her slender arms circling his strong waist.
After a moment, she lifted her head.
Those clear crimson eyes met Fang Qingyu’s as she gently reminded him:
"Now that the Invincible Technique is complete and your foundation is solid, you should shift your focus to improving your Martial Arts Cultivation. Cultivation is the true root of all Power."
Feeling the concern of the person in his arms, Fang Qingyu nodded solemnly:
"Don’t worry, I know."
In fact, he didn’t need Jiang Wei to say this—he would have done it anyway.
Tier Three cultivation... for the entire Arctic, it was still far too low.
The bustle of the City of Dawn did not cease with the end of the meeting.
On the contrary, it shifted into another, even faster and more intense rhythm.
In the command sector at the city’s core, lights blazed.
A massive tactical sand table was being rapidly assembled.
On it were marked the icefield terrain from the City of Dawn to each major battlefield on the Arctic Front, known Life Ghost strongholds, and possible marching routes.
Wei Banmeng, Lu Jiuyuan, and several seasoned scouts and staff officers deeply familiar with the Arctic terrain clustered around the sand table.
They argued in rapid-fire voices.
"The Cold Bone Fjord battlefield, closest to us in straight-line distance, is about nine hundred and seventy kilometers away! But between us lie the Wailing Ice Abyss and the Soul-devouring Fog Area—two natural moats heavily guarded by Life Ghost main forces. Forcing our way through would mean casualties beyond calculation!"
An old soldier pointed at the two marked areas on the sand table, his voice hoarse.
"We detour!" Wei Banmeng didn’t hesitate in the slightest; her slender finger decisively traced an arc across the sand table.
"We skirt along the outer edge of the Silent Ice Field. It adds roughly a hundred and fifty kilometers, but the terrain is relatively open, the odds of being ambushed by large Life Ghost clusters are lower, and it’s also more favorable for moving our large machinery and supply convoys."
"Agreed!" Lu Jiuyuan swiftly recorded and calculated on the tactical tablet in his hands.
"This route requires us to cross three major Ice Rift Zones. Deep Blue’s engineering units must set up temporary transit bridges in advance to ensure the heavy vehicles can pass. Haozi, logistics support needs to be accurate down to the hour; on the icefield march, fuel and cold-resistant supplies are the lifeline!"
"Got it. Old Qin has already taken people to tally our stock and contacted the rear cities for emergency procurement. Deep Blue’s transport teams are on standby as well." Haozi responded at once.
Chu Kuanglan was meanwhile sweeping through the various ad hoc barracks and assembly squares.
His rough roar echoed between the steel structures:
"Move your asses, all of you—check your gear! Don’t you dare shit the bed once we hit the battlefield!"
"First Battle Group, built on the elite core of the old Cyan Dragon Gang, mixed with five hundred volunteers experienced in icefield combat—I’ll lead it personally!"
"Second Battle Group, under Captain Wei’s command—prioritize all long-range Divine Cultists and brothers skilled in control and support!"
"Third Battle Group, mobile support. Qi Hao, Old Qin, you two are in charge. Make damn sure you handle those big iron lumps from Deep Blue properly."
Deep Blue Heavy Industries’ engineering sector was just as ablaze with activity.
Shen Zhou, sporting two massive dark circles under his eyes and a completely ruined throat, was still bellowing.
"All Icebreaker heavy transport trucks and Snow Mastiff all-terrain armored vehicles—full overhaul! Install extra external armor plates and anti-slip tracks. On long-distance raids across the icefield, the vehicles must not screw us over."
A sense of looming large-scale war, both grim and efficient,
permeated every corner of the City of Dawn.
And at the same time—
Streams of people from the cities behind the Arctic Great Wall were surging continuously toward this newborn city of war.
That single slash Fang Qingyu had swung to cleave open the heavens,
was the best conscription decree imaginable.
The news spread as if on wings, racing across the entire Arctic Front in a startlingly short time.
Countless Transcendents—whether battle-hardened veterans, fresh-blood upstarts, or those originally working in other jobs in rear cities but now burning with the urge to fight—
all turned their gaze beyond the Great Wall.
Toward that city daring to plant itself right under the Life Ghosts’ noses.
Toward the city that had Fang Qingyu.
Dawn!
They might be shaken by Fang Qingyu’s inhuman Power, or drawn by the City of Dawn’s pure goal of killing Life Ghosts and nothing else...
But regardless, streams of people,
were converging on the City of Dawn by every means available.
The name "City of Dawn," together with that scar carved across the heavens by his blade,
rose in notoriety to the point where, for a time, it rivaled the news of all-out war between humanity and the Life Ghosts themselves.
It became the hottest focal point in the entire Arctic.
On the edge of the Arctic Continent.
Glazed Light City’s harbor.
The bitter sea wind, laden with salt and ice crystals, swept across the massive docks.
A giant icebreaking transport ship, the North Wind, bearing the Federation’s insignia and hailing from deep within the Federation’s heartland, was slowly docking.
The anchor crashed into the Ice Sea with a dull boom.
The gangway was lowered, and the crowd that had been waiting on deck surged forward like a flood through an opened sluice, pouring onto the metal bridge connecting to the pier.
Lin Kang, Duan Ling, and Qu Zhe were among that tide of people.
They wore the standard deep-gray combat uniforms of the Qingjian City Divine Management Bureau, each carrying a simple marching pack.
Their respective weapons were wrapped in special canvas covers, slung diagonally across their backs.
Following the flow through the passage,
they arrived at the inspection hall inside the harbor.
The hall buzzed with noise, as supporters from all over the Federation queued in long lines.
Inspection personnel in standard Arctic Front uniforms wore stern expressions and worked with impressive efficiency.
When it was Lin Kang and his companions’ turn,
a young officer took their documents and swiped them over the scanner.
The screen quickly pulled up their information.
"Thank you, all three of you, for supporting the Arctic Front."
