Chapter 1067 - 384: Breaking Through the Glacier, Time to March!
Arctic Great Wall.
When the convoy of over ten Deep Blue snow rhino transport vehicles.
Finally docked at the giant unloading platform inside the Great Wall.
The vehicle doors thunderously dropped.
The biting cold wind, mixed with tiny ice particles, instantly lashed at the faces of Lin Kang and his companions who just stepped out.
Even though everyone was a Tier Two Transcendent.
They couldn’t help but squint their eyes instinctively.
However, in the next moment.
Everyone’s gaze was immediately drawn to the human-built Great Wall standing at the edge of the abyss before them.
This was far more overwhelming than any pictures or videos could convey on the internet.
"Hiss..."
Someone let out the first suppressed gasp.
Duan Ling instinctively clenched her arm.
Her knuckles turned slightly white from exertion.
Qu Zhe had his mouth open; the usually talkative him couldn’t utter a single word at this moment.
He just stared blankly at the sheer cliffs.
The scar-faced man who was chatting about real estate prices in the vehicle.
Was completely silent now.
This is the reaction everyone has the first time they see the Arctic Great Wall.
So the Leader from the City of Dawn wasn’t in a hurry.
He stood silently to the side, without urging them.
He understood this awe.
He quietly waited.
His gaze swept over the faces filled with shock.
His lips bore a barely noticeable hint of understanding and pride.
After a full two or three minutes, when the swirling snow reminded everyone where they were.
The Leader lightly coughed, his voice clear amidst the howling winds: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Arctic Front. The grandeur of the Great Wall is admirable, but..."
He paused, lifted his head to glimpse at the lead-gray sky growing dimmer.
"The outside of the Arctic Great Wall at night is no place for sightseeing. The road is still long, we should set off."
These words instantly reminded everyone lost in awe.
"Go! Go!"
They immediately snapped back to reality, tightening their gear and checking their weapons.
"Follow me."
The Leader said no more.
He turned and walked towards the passage on the side of the unloading platform.
The passage was extremely wide, enough to accommodate several heavy assault vehicles side by side.
Huge signboards hung on its cold metal walls.
Occasionally, soldiers or engineers in standard battle attire hurried past, casting either curious or scrutinizing glances.
The Leader was evidently very familiar with the place.
Leading the group through twists and turns, they quickly arrived at a massive gate towering dozens of meters high.
Alongside was a checkpoint.
Several stern-looking officers were on duty.
Seeing the Leader approaching with a group, one of the officers stepped forward, his gaze sharp as electricity sweeping over Lin Kang and others, asking in a deep voice: "Identity, destination?"
The Leader immediately stepped up.
He presented his credentials and an electronic list: "City of Dawn temporary transport point, K7 batch supporters, seventeen in total, heading to City of Dawn."
The officer took the credentials and terminal, swiftly sliding his fingers across the screen to verify the information.
His gaze slid over Lin Kang and the others, bearing scrutiny but not lingering.
Evidently, they were accustomed to these support teams flowing towards the City of Dawn from the rear.
A few seconds later, the officer returned the credentials.
He gestured towards the control room: "Identity confirmed, clear to proceed!"
Buzz——
The massive alloy gate slowly opened inwards, revealing a gap, then widened.
Behind the gate was an endless gray-white world covered in ice and snow.
An even more biting cold wind than within the Great Wall rushed violently through the gap.
Making their garments flutter loudly.
"Let’s go!"
The Leader called out, taking the lead.
He stepped through the massive gate that symbolized the boundary between protection and danger.
With one step forward.
It felt like entering another world.
Within the Great Wall, though the road was icy, it was at least flattened, allowing large vehicles to pass.
But beyond the Great Wall lay a true icy abyss.
As far as the eye could see, there were undulating vast ice hills.
Deep, dark crevices crisscrossed the scene.
Gale winds swept over thick layers of accumulated snow, stirring the snow into a blinding flurry, drastically reducing visibility.
Massive gray-white ice floes piled near the coastline, undulating with the waves, making dull crashing sounds.
There was no road! Only a faint trail trampled by predecessors, appearing faintly amidst the wind and snow.
"Stay close! Watch the ice crevices beneath you!"
The Leader shouted back, his voice somewhat ethereal in the wind.
He was evidently also a Tier Two Transcendent, moving swiftly on the rugged ice as if walking on flat ground.
Lin Kang and the others dared not slack off, immediately activating their Qi Blood, following him.
The Tier Two Transcendents’ Physique and Speed far surpassed ordinary people.
Even in such a harsh environment, they could run several times faster than regular humans at full speed.
Though the environment here was even harsher.
No one complained; everyone gritted their teeth, striving to adapt to the rhythm of this hostile land.
The physical fatigue and harsh conditions.
Instead, diluted the unease of leaving the Great Wall’s protection.
Traveling was monotonous.
Especially across this dead ice plain of nothing but whiteness.
The previously amicable scar-faced man, seemingly trying to ease the oppressive atmosphere and for his own schemes, sidled up to the Leader once more, maintaining a high pace while loudly asking, "Brother! It’s tough leading the way! I’m Wang Meng, may I ask your name?"
The Leader glanced sideways at him, seeming unfazed by the small talk, responding loudly: "It’s Zhou, Zhou Yi! Scout team of the City’s First Brigade."
