Chapter 1101: Chapter 391: Friends, We Might Die, But I’m Glad…

The cold wind carried ice crystals, lashing against the advancing army.

Sixty thousand soldiers marched across the ice field, frozen to a dark brown, clearing the way ahead.

The team of journalists stayed closely behind the army.

Having experienced five consecutive, overwhelming victories, the shock on the journalists’ faces had yet to completely fade.

But it was already replaced by an almost euphoric professional fervor.

Hua Jing and Arin walked side by side.

The thick winter clothing couldn’t hide the brightness in their eyes.

“Xiao Hua, look!”

Arin pointed at the huge shadow gradually forming in the snowstorm up ahead, “Isn’t that the last stronghold? It looks bigger than the ones before.”

Hua Jing followed her finger, looking through the gaps that the snowstorm tore open.

A fortress made of interlaced white bones and black rocks stood at the edge of their sight.

This was the Broken Spine Gate.

The last checkpoint leading to the Skeleton King Court.

“Yes, that’s it.” Hua Jing took a deep breath of the cold air, gripping her camera tightly.

“Take a picture of it, first capture it completely, then capture how our army shatters this last gate.”

As per usual, the army stopped a few miles from the stronghold.

A figure silently rose into the high sky, starlight swirling around.

Fang Qingyu hovered above the snowstorm, scanning the massive white bone fortress and the vast ice field surrounding it below.

Moments later, his form descended, his voice clearly penetrating the storm.

Reaching Wei Banmeng and Ji Wuya’s ears: “No high-tier presence, proceed with the original plan.”

Orders were instantly issued, turning into the brief yet forceful shouts of officers at each level:

“First to Fifth Corps, flank from the left!”

“Sixth to Tenth Corps, circle around the right!”

“Cold Bone Fjord Mixed Regiment, breakthrough in the center!”

“Seal the perimeter, kill the retreating enemy—attack!!!”

The earth-shaking battle cries erupted like a long-restrained volcano, tearing apart the snowstorm’s wailing in an instant.

Sixty thousand troops once again advanced with the inertia to crush everything.

Charging fiercely at the grimly standing Broken Spine Gate.

The battle unfolded like a replica of the previous ones.

The deep-blue Dawn Warriors moved in groups of three, teams of five, weaving through the complex terrain.

Amidst the flashes of blades and shadows of swords, Life Ghosts of the same rank fell in swathes like harvested straw.

Chu Kuanglan, bearing his iconic giant sword, remained at the forefront, each sweep arousing a bloody storm; where the giant sword passed, it left a trail paved with shattered bone armor and putrid green flesh.

Ji Wuya’s white hair danced amidst the blood mist and snowstorm.

Precisely harvesting the Life Ghost leaders attempting to organize resistance.

The veteran soldiers, depended on their solid formation to withstand the Life Ghosts’ counterattacks, complementing Dawn’s moves, tearing the perimeter defenses of the stronghold to pieces.

The journalists were led by the escort team to a relatively wind-sheltered, wide-view bone hill slope.

The cameras were already set up, capturing every corner of the battlefield greedily.

Arin excitedly adjusted the focus, muttering to herself, “So cool! This advance speed, this coordination! It’s simply the art of war! I bet, two hours, at most two and a half, we’ll surely take it!”

Hua Jing’s camera, on the other hand, followed Chu Kuanglan’s wild figure more closely.

Watching him wield his giant sword, unstoppable, her face was filled with pride and relief.

The battle seemed to be going just as smoothly as the previous ones, with victory just around the corner.

She exchanged a glance with Arin, and the two tacitly picked up two lighter, more flexible cameras, saying to the squad leader of the escort team, “Leader, we’re going over there to the higher ground for a full shot of the battlefield, we’ll be back soon!”

The consecutive easy battles.

Had caused everyone to relax their guard a bit.

“Be quick and stay safe!”

The squad leader glanced at the battlefield situation and nodded in agreement.

But still assigned two elite soldiers to closely follow them.

The two women crouched as they quickly ran to a vantage point covered by large ice rocks and collapsed bone pillars with the soldiers’ cover.

The view was excellent here, overlooking more than half of the stronghold battlefield.

Hua Jing and Arin immediately laid down on the cold snowy ground.

Pointed the cameras at the battlefield below, which seemed like a boiling furnace.

Click! Click!

The cameras faithfully recorded the scenes of warriors fighting bravely, the dissolving formations of Life Ghosts.

And the moment on top of the tallest white bone tower in the core of the stronghold, the Dawn Star Dome Battle Banner being cut down by a soldier.

“We’re about to win so soon.”

Arin exclaimed excitedly in a low voice, adjusting the angle to capture the moment the battle flag fell.

But at that moment, Arin suddenly put down her camera, a trace of confusion crossing her gaze.

She instinctively pressed her hand against the ice beneath her: “Xiao Hua, do you feel…the ground is shaking a bit?”

Hua Jing, who was focused on shooting, paused upon hearing the words.

She concentrated her senses, and the hard permafrost and ice beneath really seemed to convey an extremely subtle yet continuous vibration.

Not the heavy muffled sound of the army’s charging and stomping.

But more like…a low-frequency tremor coming from afar.

“There is…a bit…”

Hua Jing’s voice carried a hint of uncertain surprise.

However, just as she finished speaking, the face of one of the soldiers on guard behind her changed dramatically.

He abruptly raised his head, his gaze piercing through the snowstorm, staring intently at the vast ice field shrouded in whitish-grey snow at the perimeter of the stronghold.

His pupils contracted to the extreme in an instant!

“Something’s wrong!!” another soldier uttered a near-torn low shout, “Run!! It’s the Destiny Ghost Army!!!”

Before the sound even faded, the two soldiers burst forth like cheetahs.
