Chapter 951 - 356: Hello, My Name Is Fang Qingyu!
Silence spread through the luxurious private room.
The old ghost’s haggard body trembled slightly.
Cold sweat gathered into beads at the corner of his forehead, sliding down his slack cheeks and dripping onto the smooth mahogany table, making a faint yet heart-stirring "tap" sound.
He looked at the young man seated in the main position, who appeared calm to the point of indifference.
In those deep eyes, containing the swirling starry rivers, there was not a ripple.
Only a chilling calmness that reached the marrow.
From the beginning...
The old ghost’s cloudy pupils reflected Fang Qingyu’s young but sharp profile.
From the start, this young man, who rose like a comet, never had any fondness for those powers entrenched in the City of Injustice, profiting in the dark.
The so-called cooperation, the so-called mutual interests.
Were merely barriers he used to gain half a month’s precious time through the manpower and influence of the seven major forces.
Fang Qingyu needed them to block the Celestial Punishment Association, like stones holding back a flood.
And in this respite he secured.
He completed a certain transformation.
That list, the list stained with the blood and tears of innocents.
Was Fang Qingyu’s last ultimatum to them, also their only chance...
A chance for self-cleansing.
If they could purge those listed scoundrels involved in human trafficking, the Cyan Dragon Gang would no longer move against them.
This was the greatest mercy Fang Qingyu extended, in view of their half-month’s effort.
Otherwise...with the will reflected in those starry eyes of his.
Perhaps from the very beginning, his goals upon entering the City of Injustice.
Were not solely the Celestial Punishment Association, but all the tumors sunk in the dark quagmires of this city.
Upon gaining enough power.
He could not possibly turn a blind eye to the wickedness beneath his nose.
He laid his cards on the table.
Fang Qingyu was tired of pretense.
He unveiled the table, laying out the stark rules and cold blade before them.
"Fang...Captain Fang..."
The old ghost’s voice was extremely dry.
Filled with confusion and helplessness, "I...I..."
He "I"ed for a long time, not knowing what to say.
Plead? Beg? Explain?
Under Fang Qingyu’s gaze, any words seemed pale and ridiculous.
Why would such a freak come here...
A monster whose strength defied logic, yet behaved so...
So mercilessly, so fearfully.
"Where’s Xiaojiang?"
A clear voice broke the silence in the private room.
Wei Banmeng had, at some point, walked to Fang Qingyu’s side.
Her gaze swept the private room, apparently looking for that scarlet figure.
Upon hearing this, Fang Qingyu’s icy indifference dissipated a touch.
A hint of a helpless smile even tugged at his lips.
He pointed to the wall separating the private rooms, "She’s eating over there."
Clearly in the adjacent private room.
Wei Banmeng’s tense expression slightly relaxed, nodding gently.
She looked at Fang Qingyu, a subtle sense of expectation and inquiry buried deep in her cool eyes: "Is it done?"
The smile on Fang Qingyu’s face grew.
He put down the chopsticks, long empty, and slowly stood, stretching his muscles.
His whole body cracked with a series of crisp pops.
An invisible aura spread slightly with his movements.
Facing Wei Banmeng’s gaze, he nodded affirmatively: "Almost there."
Then, Fang Qingyu turned to the old ghost whose face was ashen, his tone returning to unquestionable calm: "Old ghost."
The old ghost shudders, suddenly straightening his hunched back: "Yes! Captain Fang, your instructions!"
"Pull back your men."
Fang Qingyu directed his gaze out the window at the spectacular night scene of the City of Injustice, "Next, just watch how the other six gangs choose. Don’t take the initiative to attack. Observe the situation quietly."
"Understood, I’ll take care of it right away!"
The old ghost was hugely relieved, nodding repeatedly.
He dared not linger, bowing deeply to Fang Qingyu and Wei Banmeng.
Then rushed out of the private room as if fleeing.
The heavy private room door closed behind him.
The old ghost leaned against the cold wall, panting heavily, like someone who had just surfaced from the deep sea.
Cold sweat soaked his inner shirt, and his heart kept pounding frantically.
He slowly slid onto a nearby, luxurious chair meant for guests to wait and rest.
Staring at the sparkling crystal chandelier on the ceiling with empty eyes.
Mumbling unconsciously, his voice so soft only he could hear:
"The times...are about to be completely chaotic..."
In the adjacent private room.
The atmosphere here was entirely different from the earlier tension.
The air was filled with the sweet aroma of cream, chocolate, and fresh fruit.
The huge round table was piled high with an array of exquisite desserts.
Jiang Wei sat at the table, with her unruly red hair cascading smoothly over her shoulders, contrasting with her milky white, jade-like face.
She held a strawberry cream cake almost the size of her face in her hands, her cheeks bulging, her eyes clear like rubies, with a contented squint, akin to a cat lazily enjoying the sunlight.
Upon hearing the door open, she immediately raised her head.
Seeing Fang Qingyu and the others enter, her eyes instantly lit up, like stars falling into rubies.
She attempted to wave a greeting.
But her mouth was too full, she could only make "mumble mumble" sounds, her little head nodding vigorously.
Fang Qingyu gazed at her, his last trace of coldness completely melting away.
He walked over, naturally extending a hand to ruffle Jiang Wei’s silky scarlet hair: "Take your time eating, no one’s going to snatch it from you."
