Chapter 432: Chapter 431: City Of Demons? (part 2)

The growling gradually intensified.

More and more figures continued gathering.

Hundreds, then thousands.

The once-silent avenue became filled with demons.

They surrounded him from every direction.

Alix calmly looked around.

His expression remained completely indifferent.

With a thought, a familiar translucent blue screen appeared before him.

Lines of information rapidly appeared before his eyes.

The nearest horned creature was immediately identified.

[Lesser Demon]

Tier: 3]

Another window appeared beside it.

[Lesser Demon]

Tier: 4]

More windows materialized one after another.

Almost every creature surrounding him shared the same designation.

Lesser Demon.

Only their strength differed.

Tier 3.

Tier 4.

Then, Alix’s gaze shifted toward a much larger figure standing atop the roof of a ruined palace.

It was nearly four meters tall.

Its horns were longer.

Its physique was lean rather than bulky.

Large black wings folded neatly behind its back.

Unlike the others... Its eyes possessed clear intelligence.

It wasn’t growling.

It simply watched him.

Another System window appeared.

[Tempter]

Tier: 5]

Alix narrowed his eyes thoughtfully.

"Lesser Demon..."

"Tempter..."

He quietly studied the names displayed before him.

Then his gaze swept across the countless creatures surrounding him once more.

A faint look of understanding appeared on his face.

"I see..."

He spoke softly to himself.

"These probably aren’t their races."

"They’re more likely military or social ranks."

He looked toward one of the Tier 3 creatures.

Then toward the intelligent Tier 5 standing above the crowd.

"If ’Lesser Demon’ were a race..."

"It wouldn’t make sense for individuals with completely different appearances to share the same name."

His eyes lingered on the Tempter.

"But if it’s a rank..."

"Everything fits."

"The weaker ones are classified as Lesser Demons."

"The stronger individuals receive a higher designation."

"Just as soldiers are promoted through military ranks."

The more he thought about it, the more convinced he became.

This forgotten city had likely belonged to a structured civilization.

Not merely a collection of powerful monsters, but an empire.

A civilization where hierarchy existed.

Where every demon had a place.

Where strength determined status.

And where promotions were likely earned through blood, war, or countless achievements.

The titles displayed by the System were probably no different from military ranks.

"Lesser Demon..."

"Tempter..."

Alix quietly repeated the names as his eyes swept across the sea of monstrous figures.

"If that’s true..."

"There should be even higher ranks above Tempter."

The thought barely crossed his mind before the atmosphere changed.

A deafening roar suddenly erupted from every direction.

ROOOAAARRRR!!

The sound was so overwhelming that it shook the ruined streets.

Cracks spread across ancient walls.

Broken pillars collapsed into clouds of dust.

The very air trembled beneath the combined voices of thousands of demons.

The Tempter standing atop the ruined palace slowly raised one claw.

Its intelligent eyes remained fixed upon Alix.

It did not roar.

It did not charge.

Instead, it simply lowered its hand.

That single motion was enough.

As if receiving an absolute command, every Lesser Demon instantly exploded into motion.

BOOM!

The streets shattered beneath countless feet.

Buildings trembled violently.

Stone fragments were sent flying as thousands of demons charged forward like a crimson tidal wave.

Those with wings launched themselves into the sky, blotting out portions of the crimson heavens.

Those crawling across rooftops leaped from building to building with terrifying speed.

The four-armed demons swung their bone weapons wildly while the larger, heavily armored ones lowered their shoulders and charged like unstoppable beasts.

From every direction...

Above.

Below.

Ahead.

Behind.

The city transformed into a sea of demons. Hundreds rapidly became thousands. Thousands became tens of thousands.

And in the distance... The earth itself continued to shake as even more silhouettes emerged from ruined streets beyond his vision.

They poured out endlessly.

Like an ocean with no shore.

Every one of them wore the same expression.

Hunger.

Madness.

An overwhelming desire to tear apart the lone figure standing in the middle of the avenue.

Yet, Alix never moved.

His expression remained as calm as ever.

His hands stayed behind his back.

He merely watched the approaching horde with quiet indifference.

The first demon reached him in less than a second.

It swung its claws toward his neck with enough force to split steel.

However, before the attack could even come within several meters...

The demon’s body suddenly froze.

Its expression twisted in confusion.

Then...

Pop.

Its entire body burst apart like an overfilled balloon.

Blood exploded into the air.

Chunks of flesh scattered across the broken pavement.

Its bones shattered into countless fragments before they could even touch Alix.

There had been no attack.

No movement.

No visible force.

The creature had simply ceased to exist.

The demons behind it didn’t even have time to react.

BOOM!

BOOM!!

BOOM!!!

One after another, their bodies exploded in rapid succession.

Some burst into crimson mist.

Others were torn into countless pieces as though an invisible giant had crushed them with overwhelming pressure.

Heads flew through the air.

Arms spun across the ruined streets.

Black blood rained from above as flying demons detonated before they could descend.

The entire avenue instantly transformed into a gruesome sea of blood and flesh.

Yet not a single drop landed on Alix.

An invisible force surrounding him effortlessly deflected every piece of flesh and every drop of blood.

The crimson rain curved around him before splashing harmlessly onto the ground.

It was as though the world itself refused to stain his clothing.

The charging demons felt no fear.

No hesitation.

Their instincts overpowered all reason.

Even as countless companions exploded before their eyes, they continued rushing forward without slowing down.

To them, there was only one objective.

Devour the intruder.

Unfortunately, none of them could even approach.

Ten meters.

Every demon that crossed that invisible boundary instantly exploded.

Nine meters.

Eight meters.

Seven.

It made no difference.

An unseen law governed the surrounding space.

Anything hostile that entered it was erased without mercy.

There wasn’t even enough time to scream.

The sounds of charging footsteps quickly became replaced by endless explosions.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

The city echoed continuously as demons burst apart one after another.

Blood flowed through the cracked streets like newly formed rivers.

Severed limbs piled into grotesque mountains.

The ancient white stone roads were gradually dyed dark crimson.

The overwhelming stench of blood rapidly spread across the surrounding district.

Yet...

The slaughter had only begun.

Far beyond the ruined avenue, deep within countless broken buildings. New demons continued emerging.

They climbed over mountains of corpses without hesitation.

Winged demons descended from the skies in massive flocks.

Entire swarms flooded through shattered gates.

The ground trembled continuously beneath their numbers.

Hundreds of thousands.

Perhaps even more.

It was impossible to count them.

They simply kept coming.

Wave after wave.

Endless.

As though the city itself were giving birth to demons without end.

Alix observed the spectacle in silence.

His eyes remained calm.

"There are quite a lot."

His voice carried no surprise.

Only simple observation.

Of course, he understood why.

This was a dungeon.

Dungeon creatures were fundamentally different from living beings.

No matter how many were slaughtered, they would eventually revive once enough time had passed.

As long as the dungeon core remained intact, these monsters would continue existing.

An endless army.

If anything, this made them ideal.

There was no fear in killing them, worrying this place will run out of monsters.
