Chapter 555 - 367: Destiny Law
Chapter 555: Chapter 367: Destiny Law
The Strongest Royal Court, Eco-Celestial Prison. Inside the cell of the Long Rainbow Sword Immortal, Li Jikong.
The cell was unusually bustling. Not only were the three Prison Chiefs gathered there, but the Brocade Guard had also locked down the area. Over a hundred people stood guard, both inside and out.
"What’s going on?"
Li Jikong asked, confused.
He was a miserable sight. His entire body was entwined with vines, and his feet looked as if they had taken root in the ground. He was nothing but skin and bones. His cultivation, once at the Peak of Divinity Transformation, had long since been converted into Eco Energy, and his level had plummeted to 12!
The so-called Long Rainbow Sword Immortal had lost all his ethereal grace, and his Nine Tribulations Body was of no use.
The area was silent, and the atmosphere was heavy and oppressive.
Suddenly, the Brocade Guard parted to clear a path. Zhao Wenliang, Lu Datong, and Tang Xian—the three Prison Chiefs—bowed their heads as two official’s chairs were carried in. Following them, two high-ranking officials entered the cell.
These two were none other than Hai Zhongxian, head of the Eastern Depot’s Brocade Guard, and Fish-Transformed Dragon, leader of the Xichang Brocade Guard.
The two men took their seats in the official’s chairs. They weren’t wearing court official robes, but rather Eco Armor produced by the Flower and Fruit Ecosystem.
This powerful Eco Armor compensated for their relatively fragile physical bodies.
In the Strongest Royal Court today, not many were qualified to wear Eco Armor. Every person who could was a powerful figure holding true authority.
Even men like Zhao Wenliang, despite managing the Eco-Celestial Prison and possessing a degree of real power, still lacked the qualifications to wear Eco Armor.
"Long Rainbow Sword Immortal, Li Jikong!" Hai Zhongxian was the first to speak. "As of today, you are under the jurisdiction of the East and West Depots. Tell me everything you know about the Mind Relic and the Mad Secret Realm, and perhaps you’ll be spared some physical suffering."
Fish-Transformed Dragon added, "I am here under orders to interrogate you. Cooperate, and I’ll allow you to keep some of your dignity. Refuse, and I will make you wish for death, a wish that will not be granted!"
"Huh?" Li Jikong felt like weeping but couldn’t shed a tear. He immediately began to beg for mercy. "Sirs, are you going to torture me? Are you really going to do it this time?"
In truth, he had been interrogated several times before, but it had always been the three Prison Chiefs—Zhao Wenliang, Tang Xian, and Lu Datong—who did the questioning. Their methods had been relatively gentle. An interrogation on this scale was a first.
"Whatever you want to know, just ask! I’ll tell you everything I know, just please don’t torture me..."
Li Jikong was truly panicking. ’I’m supposed to be a carefree, happy Player, not some prisoner destined to suffer!’ But before he could finish his plea, a splitting headache wracked him, and the voice of the Black Buddha echoed in his mind. "Unworthy disciple, do you intend to betray your master?"
"Master? I wouldn’t dare! I wouldn’t dare! Spare me, Master!"
Li Jikong was horrified. ’That good-for-nothing master of mine really is sinister,’ he thought. ’He was quiet for so long I thought the connection was broken. I never expected him to be lurking this whole time, monitoring my every move.’
"Hmph. I gave you all this time, and you still couldn’t unseal the Mind Relic. You truly are worthless. What use is there in keeping you around?"
As the Black Buddha’s voice continued, Li Jikong suddenly felt his consciousness being dragged into a mass of darkness, as if he were plummeting into an abyss. A system notification rang out. "Ding! Warning: You are being mentally dominated. You will partially or completely lose control of your body and gradually enter the Mad God state."
"Fuck!"
Li Jikong wanted to curse his heart out. He was utterly terrified, but he could only sink deeper into the darkness, unable to see or hear a thing.
Back in the Eco-Celestial Prison, Li Jikong’s body began to convulse as black mist poured out of him. At the same time, the vines binding his body tightened, and a green aura materialized, as if trying to contain the dark energy.
"Hmph. Let’s see how a mere natural ecosystem can possibly stand against the Spiritual Law!"
The voice emanated from within Li Jikong’s body as the black mist gradually coalesced into the spectral image of a Buddha.
Everyone was aghast.
"What’s happening?"
"Is there an intruder?"
"It seems some kind of evil power is trying to infiltrate through his body!"
"What kind of power can ignore the world’s barrier and manifest inside the Eco-Celestial Prison?"
"Don’t panic! The Eco-Celestial Prison is activating. No matter what power this is, it will be absorbed by the Celestial Prison and converted into Eco Energy!"
"Seal off this area immediately!"
"Everyone, out of the cell! We’ll observe from a distance!"
The Brocade Guard inside the cell retreated swiftly. They were exceptionally well-trained, showing not a hint of panic.
Once everyone was out, Zhao Wenliang sealed the cell. Muffled sounds continued to emanate from within—sounds like furious shouts mixed with bestial roars, chilling everyone to the bone.
"Destiny! Such powerful destiny! Damn it, why is this place protected by such an immense power of destiny? This is bad... causality is in chaos, the Spiritual Law is being disrupted by the Destiny Law... I can’t break through..."
The crowd outside could faintly hear the voice from within the cell. They remained silent, on high alert.
After a full fifteen minutes, a final, piercing shriek faded away, and the cell at last fell silent.
Zhao Wenliang, Tang Xian, and Lu Datong peered inside. The black mist was gone. Li Jikong’s body was a withered husk, still tightly bound by the vines. His head was bowed, and he was silent, as if he had passed out.
Suddenly, Li Jikong coughed and came to. He opened his eyes and gazed around blankly. A moment later, his expression turned to one of pure ecstasy. "Hahahaha! I’m back! The Master of the Heart actually failed! His power is exhausted, the Spiritual Mark is gone! It was a blessing in disguise! I’m no longer under his control! This place automatically condensed the Destiny Law... It’s so powerful!"
Although he was extremely weak, Li Jikong was euphoric. He shouted at the top of his lungs, desperately trying to vent the joy in his heart, but his body was simply too frail. He soon passed out again.
