Chapter 604: Chapter 391: A Century of Change

Anticipation filled the purple-robed young man’s heart. Right at that moment, a bizarre convoy barged into his line of sight.

Within the Deep Blue Sea Region lay a deep blue Sea of Light Mist. All continents and celestial bodies occupied the same plane, mostly floating upon or suspended just above this mist.

Unique Law Power governed the area, ensuring gravity always pulled precisely perpendicular to the misty sea’s surface.

From the young man’s vantage point, the strange convoy surged forward across the rolling Sea of Light Mist, rushing just ahead on his flank. They appeared to be heading straight toward the Strongest Divine Country as well.

Four rows of massive motorcycles cleared the way for the group. The battered bikes sagged under the weight of an assortment of bags, boxes, and crates, every inch packed to the brim.

At the center of the formation rolled a Bronze War Chariot that oozed ancient history. Strikingly, a horde of bronze horses dragged the chariot forward.

Trailing behind the chariot rode two large squads of shaggy, hairy men mounted on wild boars. Strapped with straw mats and practically draped in pots and pans, they looked like road-weary refugees who had dragged themselves across continents through unimaginable hardships to seek asylum in the Strongest Royal Court.

"The Strongest Royal Court doesn’t take in refugees. What’s the deal with these guys?" the young man wondered. A spark of curiosity ignited within him; as bizarre as the convoy was, the group projected an unmistakable, unusual air of威风 power.

"Pull up! Move in closer so I can get a good look at this circus," he ordered.

His crew immediately obeyed, accelerating the Dragon-headed Ship and swiftly closing the distance.

The young man could now clearly make out the figure sitting atop the Bronze War Chariot. It was a tall man wearing windproof sunglasses and a black trench coat. With his hands tucked into his sleeves, he looked a mix of effortlessly cool and undeniably tacky.

"What’s your business here?" the young man shouted across the mist, acting boldly under the protection of his noble status.

That man on the chariot, unsurprisingly, was Wang Yi.

Wang Yi glanced sideways and read the youth’s status. He was a resident of the Mingyu Divine Country, Level 85, and a young master of the Xu Family from Mingyu City named Xu Qinghuan!

The white-haired old man standing beside Xu Qinghuan was a Tributor serving the Xu Family—a Level 200 Nascent Soul Cultivator.

"Been a long time since I saw someone this low Level!" Wang Yi muttered.

After leaving the Chaotic Void Realm, he had not been teleported directly to his own territory. Instead, he dropped into the Deep Blue Sea Region and had to make the rest of the journey home himself. Spotting his territory from a distance had finally put his mind at ease. A full century had passed, and his domain remained safe and sound; he couldn’t ask for a better outcome.

"Are you heading to the Strongest Divine Country?" Xu Qinghuan shouted again.

In no particular rush to return to his territory anymore, Wang Yi took his time answering. He spared Xu Qinghuan another glance. "Yes, heading to the Strongest Divine Country. You too?"

"The Strongest Divine Country strictly enforces isolationism right now, and they don’t take in vagrants!" Xu Qinghuan declared matter-of-factly. "If you’re going there to beg for asylum, drop it. Save yourself the humiliation."

"Isolationism?"

"Right! The Strongest Royal Court only entertains relations with a tiny handful of divine countries. Anyone else is barred from entry."

"Is that so?" Wang Yi paid slightly closer attention. "Then what are you doing going to the Strongest Royal Court? Can you get in?"

"We came from the Mingyu Divine Country, so we have a Pass Token. As for our business? To learn the martial dao, of course! I am Xu Qinghuan, soon-to-be disciple of the Refining Profound Sect!" Thumping his chest with obvious pride, Xu Qinghuan shifted the topic. "Bro, this convoy of yours isn’t bad. What are those giant motorbikes in the front? I’ve never seen anything like them!"

"Just family heirlooms. Nothing worth mentioning."

"Bro, lunging forward blindly like this won’t get you residency in the Strongest Divine Country. But meeting by chance is fate. My Xu Family has connections on the inside. Want me to grease the wheels for you? I can’t get you permanent residency, but I can swing a visitor’s tour so you can take a look around."

"This kid makes friends fast," Wang Yi noted silently. "If you could smooth things over for us, young man, that would be wonderful!" he replied.

"Great! I like your cut, so I’ll help. But once it’s done, you owe me ten thousand Star Yuan!"

"Deal."

Wang Yi nodded and flicked his right wrist, casually tossing a Storage Bag over to Xu Qinghuan.

Inside that Storage Bag sat exactly ten thousand Star Yuan, not a penny more or less. Thanks to cracking open endless blind boxes in the Chaotic Void Realm, Wang Yi accumulated Star Yuan indiscriminately. He didn’t even know his current net worth; let alone ten thousand, even a million wouldn’t make him blink.

Xu Qinghuan caught the Storage Bag, peered inside, and beamed with joy. "You’re generous, bro! What’s your name?"

"I am Wang Yi."

"Wang Yi?" Xu Qinghuan scoured his memory but found zero elite figures matching the name. Categorizing Wang Yi as a total nobody, he said, "I’ll call you Bro Wang, then. Tell your convoy to trail my ship. Once we hit customs, just follow my lead."

"No problem!" Wang Yi found the situation highly amusing. He waved a hand backward. "Lord of Slaughter Mountain, Power Demon Lord, and the rest of you—slow your pace and fall in behind this large ship."

Lord of Slaughter Mountain and the others immediately complied.

Moments later, Wang Yi stored away the Bronze War Chariot and boarded the Dragon-headed Ship. Treating the encounter like an entertaining game, he turned to his host. "Young Xu, why do you want to join the Refining Profound Sect in the Strongest Divine Country? From what I know, the Mingyu Divine Country possesses profound foundations as an immortal cultivation nation. Why not cultivate within the Mingyu Royal Court?"

"You just don’t get it," Xu Qinghuan scoffed. "Cultivating in the Mingyu Divine Country means living under the Mingyu Divine Lord’s absolute suppression. Your life and death depend on his whim. You might wake up one day and randomly find yourself refined into a Golden Core! Cultivating in the Strongest Royal Court lacks all that oppressive red tape. It’s infinitely freer, and their karmic luck makes cultivation much faster. What noble heir wouldn’t want to cultivate in the Strongest Divine Country? Of course, not just anyone can waltz in. We have people, and we have connections, which is why I get to go."

"Fair enough." Wang Yi nodded, feigning curiosity. "I just hope these connections of yours are reliable, young Xu. It would be a shame to waste the trip!"

"Completely reliable!" Xu Qinghuan boasted. "Have you heard of the Young Venerable?"

"Young Venerable?"

"Exactly! The Mingyu Divine Lord’s final disciple, a once-in-a-millennium cultivation genius! He is the son of the lord of the Strongest Divine Country, and his dao companion is Xu Huanhuan—my own biological aunt! Tell me that isn’t a rock-solid connection!"

"Wang Shijiu actually got himself a dao companion!" Wang Yi thought, deeply moved by the revelation.

A century had changed so much. He wondered how all his old friends were doing now. Anticipation swelled in his chest; he would see them very soon. He could hardly wait to see the looks on their faces when he finally returned.
