Chapter 1091: The Celestial Cloud II

Jason stopped dead in his tracks as he sensed something moving beside him! Agiel had also felt the same thing, and she turned her head sharply to the side to see what was there!

Agiel came face to face with a giant open mouth filled with thick black teeth that was about to swallow them, and she felt an indescribable surge of terror shoot through every single cell in her body! What in god’s name is that!?

"Come on!"

Jason grabbed Agiel and moved away from the mouth before it could close, and the mouth slammed into the ground! The mouth was attached to a massive worm-like creature that stretched out from the shadowy cloud like a puppet made from darkness! The moment the mouth slammed into the ground, it vanished in a puff of smoke and tendrils, and Jason noticed that the entire darkness around them was twitching and wriggling as more of those mouths began to appear from thin air! Jason had no idea what those mouths were supposed to be, but he knew that it would be a very bad idea to get swallowed by something like that! So Jason immediately grabbed Agiel by her waist and blasted off the ground!

BOOM!

The giant mouth charged straight after Jason with the intent of swallowing him, but Jason was moving quickly enough to dodge them! Jason was a Primordial, and his speed was so high that most mages wouldn’t even be able to see him, but yet, these monsters were not only managing to keep up with Jason’s speed, but every now and then, it would seem like they were about to grab Jason, and Jason would have to quickly change directions to make sure he didn’t get caught! Jason began to wonder what these things were! They couldn’t be living creatures because Jason couldn’t feel any life from them, and Jason knew that there was nothing that could survive in this place! Were they some sort of defensive mechanism developed by the Celestial of Death to protect itself?

’Or are they here to deal with anything that doesn’t get killed by the Instant Death ability?’

That was a real possibility! And although this was a bad situation, the fact that the Celestial of Death had to bring up these monsters to try and kill them meant that they were definitely moving in the right direction! Jason charged to the side to dodge one of the mouths, and he ducked and rolled under another large mouth that shot just above his head! Agiel had her hands around Jason’s neck as he carried her, and she asked him with a worried expression.

"Are you okay?"

Jason answered quickly that he was fine!

"Just stay still and don’t let go. I’m speeding up."

Agiel tightened her hold even more, and in the next moment, Jason blurred into a streak of color!

BOOM!

This time, the mouths could barely keep up with Jason’s speed, but they were still managing to lash out every now and then to try and consume him! Jason was using all of his PRIMORDIAL speed at this moment to go as fast as he physically could, and Jason was moving so quickly that the world around him was beginning to warp and twist as if he was about to tear through the fabric of reality! Jason jumped off the ground as a large mouth appeared from there to consume him, and Jason used two more mouths as springboards to launch himself forward! Agiel was still holding on tight, and Jason was using his hands to protect her head and body so she wouldn’t be affected by the intense wind pressure from his speed!

BANG!

Jason spun around and slammed his feet into another large mouth, and he sent it flying back into the clouds before it could launch an attack! Jason landed on the ground and blasted off again! More massive mouths emerged from the side, and Jason summoned his black wings before blasting off the ground as the entire floor was covered by the black mouths! Jason flew through the air and avoided multiple attacks from all around him, but he was suddenly pulled to the side by a gust of wind that came out of nowhere! Jason cursed as he felt Agiel falling out of his grasp, but thankfully she managed to hold on tight to make sure they didn’t get separated! Jason knew that the moment they stopped touching, Instant Death would kill them both, so Jason tightened his grip and spun through the air to avoid some of the wind pressure!

Jason blasted through a wall made of darkness, and he arrived on the other side and tumbled across the air before he slid to a halt and looked around with narrowed eyes.

’I’m standing in the sky.’

Jason realised in shock that he was standing upside down! Gravity was pulling him down to the ground, but he was standing in the air and looking down! It was as if his legs were made from magnets and they were stuck to the metallic ceiling! Jason had no idea what was going on here, but he decided to put that out of his mind as he had to continue moving to avoid the mouths that emerged from all around him!

What Jason didn’t know was that he had moved so far within the Celestial Cloud that he had actually left the world of Voltax behind, and he was currently in another world where gravity was absolutely unpredictable! The Celestial Cloud was so large that it stretched across multiple worlds at the same time, and by moving across the Cloud, Jason was travelling through multiple worlds as well! Jason continued moving through the Celestial Cloud without stopping, and he looked over at Agiel to make sure that she was okay. Agiel had her eyes closed, and she was doing her best to stay still so she didn’t bother Jason while he moved. Since Agiel had now formed the Soul Bond, the limit on her growth had vanished, and she was already starting to reach the level of the TITANS, but Agiel was still only an SSS Rank, and so Jason’s speed was far too much for her to withstand! It was better for her to just trust Jason to get them out of this!

Jason continued to follow his instincts as he hurried to reach the center of this cloud so they could finish this mission as quickly as possible, but then something happened that completely threw Jason off!

’Wow, mister. You’re so cool~!’

Jason nearly stumbled over his feet in shock as he heard an eerie voice echo through the darkness! For a moment, Jason actually forgot about the mouths, and he looked around him while holding his breath to try and see if the voice would speak up again! But there were no more voices, and no one showed themselves at all! There was only a deep, unnatural silence that stretched on for minutes without end. Jason turned to his side, and he was surprised to notice that the mouths were gone! They had been attacking until just a few minutes ago, but once the voice spoke up, it seemed like they all retreated!

Jason and Agiel were both breathing heavily as they stood in the middle of eternal darkness, and Agiel spoke up in a low voice.

"Where did that come from?"

Jason narrowed his eyes as he glanced around for a few more seconds, and then he said he did not know. The voice sounded like it had come from all around them, like the very darkness had been speaking to them just now, and Jason’s only worry was that someone or something was hiding in the shadows! Was there a creature out there trying to make them let their guard down so it could consume them!? Jason stayed very still with all his muscles tensed for more than five minutes to see if anything would happen, but finally, after nothing happened for a long time, Jason decided that they couldn’t just stay standing in one place forever. They had to keep moving.
