Chapter 35 - 9,999 Elemental Monsters? Wipe Them All Out! The Lord Boss Appears!
John looked up and finally spotted his target.
The highest peak of the Frostspine Mountains pierced the clouds. Amid the endless white snow, the silhouette of a colossal temple hung atop the summit.
BOOM!
The deafening crash snapped him back to reality.
The entire snow-covered slope ahead suddenly collapsed, and thousands upon thousands of flickering orbs of light emerged from beneath the frozen earth.
They had no fixed humanoid forms. Some were wreathed entirely in flames, while others were composed of raging wind...
System panels continuously appeared in his field of vision.

...
There were simply too many monsters.
All six types of elemental monsters, each with different elemental attributes, were converging on his position. Their densely packed health bars formed an unbroken sea of red.
John raised his right hand. A black rift instantly appeared beside him.
"Get out here and do some work!"
Clop, clop, clop!
One thousand Undead Dragon Knights marched out of the rift in perfect formation, their black obsidian heavy armor producing deep, muffled clangs as they moved.
Next came two hundred Frost Mages clad in bone-crystal robes, the tips of their staffs glowing with a cold blue light.
Ophelia returned to her human form and immediately took up position half a step behind John.
"My Lord, shall I charge straight through their front lines?"
"Not yet. Let the mages unleash their first volley."
John pressed his palm downward.
All two hundred Frost Mages gripped their bone staffs and activated their skills simultaneously.
"Ice Rain!"
Amid the raging blizzard, a vast cloud of icy blue energy gathered above the Lava Brutes.
WHOOSH, WHOOSH, WHOOSH!
In the next instant, hundreds upon thousands of two-meter-long icicles tore through the air and plunged into the sea of flames.
The Fire element was utterly suppressed by the Ice element.
Golden critical damage numbers continuously flashed above the monsters.
-3,930! (Elemental Advantage Critical Hit!)
-2,829! (Elemental Advantage Critical Hit!)
-2,621! (Elemental Advantage Critical Hit!)
Two hundred Lava Brutes were shattered into showers of flying sparks before they could even throw the molten projectiles in their hands.
On the other side, the Wind Spirits immediately rushed forward as well, sending a storm of cyan wind blades toward the Frost Mages in the rear.
However, the Frost Mages wielded Ice magic, and Wind had no elemental advantage over Ice.
Furthermore, the level difference was simply too great. The wind blades merely left a pitiful string of three-digit damage numbers on their bone-crystal armor.
-445!
-251!
-548!
The Frost Mages retaliated with Ice Bolts, each projectile striking a Wind Spirit directly.
Although the damage was reduced by the elemental interaction, their six-star attributes and Lv. 15 levels still gave them overwhelming power. Each Ice Bolt could forcefully break through the Wind Spirits’ defenses.
-1,660!
-1,930!
-1,843!
The Wind Spirits’ health bars emptied almost instantly, their bodies dissolving into clouds of cyan mist.
"Dragon Knights, charge and trample! Push the front line forward!"
John issued the command.
The undead bone dragons beneath the one thousand Dragon Knights let out deep, rumbling growls. Their towering, two-and-a-half-meter-tall riders surged straight into the ranks of Swamp Monsters and Thunder Spirits.
Dark purple Dragonflame burst from the tips of their dragon lances.
Unstoppable Throw activated. Several enormous Earth Elemental Golems were seized and hurled high into the air before crashing violently back down, crushing the Water Golems surging forward behind them into heaps of mud.
The entire valley echoed with the explosive sounds of elemental energy bursting apart.
Just then, red notifications began appearing at the edge of John’s vision.
[System Notification: You are affected by "Elemental Erosion." Current stacks: 1. All units’ movement speed reduced by 5%. All units take 50 elemental damage per second.]
John instinctively glanced at his own health bar.
A fixed 50 HP was deducted every second.
Compared to his total health, the damage was negligible.
However, as time passed, red system notifications continued appearing.
[Elemental Erosion has reached 2 stacks. Movement Speed -10%. Damage Taken: 100 HP per second.]
[Elemental Erosion has reached 3 stacks. Movement Speed -15%. Damage Taken: 150 HP per second.]
[Elemental Erosion has reached 4 stacks. Movement Speed -20%. Damage Taken: 200 HP per second.]
The battle continued for two and a half minutes.
The undead army never tired, and its advance was relentless. More than nine thousand elemental monsters were wiped out at a rate of several hundred per second.
The ground was littered with broken stones, dying embers, and shards of ice.
When the final Thunder Slime was pierced through by a Dragon Knight’s lance, the Elemental Erosion notification had reached its fifth stack.
[Elemental Erosion has reached 5 stacks. Movement Speed -25%. Damage Taken: 250 HP per second.]
In just a few minutes, the fixed damage had reduced John’s health by nearly a thousand points.
His troops had lost a considerable amount of health as well.
Before John could react, something unexpected happened.
[Total Elemental Monsters in Current Region: 0/9,999]
[Lord-Class Boss Spawned: Frostspine Mountains · Six-Aspect Elemental Core]
The elemental remains scattered across the ground did not disappear when the monster count reset.
Instead, six beams of light—red, blue, yellow, purple, cyan, and white—began rising from the corpses.
The beams swept across the frozen earth, pulling every fragment into the air and rapidly drawing them toward an open area at the center.
The atmosphere grew heavy.
Violent gusts swept away the snow covering the ground, exposing the layers of black rock beneath.
All six colors converged at the center.
There, a colossal elemental statue ten meters tall slowly rose to its feet.
Its body was assembled from crystals of six different colors. Its featureless face contained nothing but a constantly shifting vortex.
