Chapter 51: Slaughter the Judgment Alliance’s Third Division! Even the Division Leader Must Die!

  • Next Chapter

Hearing this, the Third Division Leader completely forgot about berating Kalen and immediately rushed out of the hall.

Then he froze in utter disbelief.

Countless Undead Dragon Knights were arranged in formation, circling above his territory.

The fierce gales generated by their beating wings sent houses flying through the air.

Below them, players were fleeing in sheer panic.

But the most terrifying sight of all was what stood at the very front of the Dragon Knights.

A gigantic purple dragon.

Its scales shimmered with a cold, purple-gold sheen under the sunlight, while its dragon eyes gazed down at the crowds below with an almost amused expression, as though they were nothing more than a colony of ants.

Every time its throat moved, the Dragon Knights behind it launched another synchronized attack, unleashing torrents of purple Dragonflame.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

[Your friend Gumlin has been killed.]

[Your friend Toma the Gray Falcon has been killed.]

[Your friend Olof Redbeard has been killed.]

[Your friend Cecilia Nightingale has been killed.]

The notifications kept coming.

The division leader’s fingers trembled as he opened his friends list.

Gumlin, Toma the Gray Falcon, Vic Blackcrow, Olof Redbeard, Cecilia Nightingale, Durin Anvil, Mel Grayrobe, Kael Brokenblade, Venomfang Shaman, Grom Stonefist, Eileen Windsong...

Every single portrait had turned gray, with a bright red cross displayed beside each name.

Across the entire Third Division roster, every portrait had turned gray except for his own at the very top and those of Kalen and the few others standing beside him.

This was the unmistakable sign that a lord had died and their territory had been destroyed.

It meant that the player had permanently lost the opportunity to connect to Godfall Continent.

"It’s over. It’s all over..."

Kalen, who had followed the division leader outside, spotted the familiar Dragon Knights overhead. His legs gave way, and he collapsed to the ground with a thud, repeating the same words over and over.

"Leader, I... I told you the truth..."

Just then, the colossal purple dragon descended slowly from the sky, blotting out the sunlight.

A young man leaped down from its back.

Kalen looked up and saw the unmistakable ID hovering above him.

Tyrant.

"No! No, no, no, no—!"

Realizing what was happening, Kalen scrambled forward on his hands and knees and clung to John’s leg, tears and snot smearing his face.

"Please don’t kill me!! Please!!"

"My lord, I have a special talent! I possess a special marching talent that increases movement speed. I can work for you! Please, just—"

John didn’t even bother responding.

Clearly, this was one of the people who had invaded his territory.

He simply raised one hand. A pale bolt of lightning crackled between his fingers.

BOOM!

[Lightning Bolt]

-26003! (Critical Hit!)

A massive red damage number flashed.

The man who had been clinging to John’s leg and sobbing just a second earlier instantly turned into a charred, twisted corpse. Black smoke rose from his body as he collapsed limply to the ground, and his player portrait slowly turned gray.

John stepped over the corpse and moved toward the Third Division Leader, who was also lying helplessly on the ground nearby.

The space between the man’s trouser legs was now soaked, and an unidentified liquid was visibly spreading across the ground.

John crouched down to meet his gaze, smiling pleasantly.

He knew this face all too well.

In his previous life, when he had been surrounded and slaughtered at the very end of his territory’s destruction, he had looked up from a pool of blood and seen several faces looking down at him with undisguised delight.

This was one of them.

Back then, the man had been standing.

John had been the one lying on the ground, his face trampled underfoot.

Now, the tables had turned.

"T-Tyrant, my lord..."

The Third Division Leader made a strangled, incoherent sound.

"It was that useless fool who offended you! Him! It has nothing to do with our Third Division! We knew nothing about it!"

Even as he spoke, he didn’t forget to issue a threat.

"Y-You can leave now, and we’ll call it even! I won’t report this to headquarters."

"But if you dare touch me, the Judgment Alliance will never let you get away with it! We’ve already figured out where you live! You’d better—"

"At a time like this..."

John tilted his head, looking genuinely puzzled.

"You still dare to threaten people?"

He glanced around at the surrounding area.

Thick black smoke billowed into the sky.

Every territory belonging to the Judgment Alliance players had been reduced to scorched earth, just like the territories they had destroyed not long ago.

"Have you even looked at what’s happening around you?"

"So what?! Even if you kill me—"

The Third Division Leader seemed to have seized upon his last lifeline. His voice suddenly rose to a shrill pitch.

"Our Judgment Alliance has countless players and territories across this continent and even on Godfall Continent! Aren’t you afraid that the entire Alliance will come after you?!"

John sneered.

This man truly embodied the Judgment Alliance’s way of doing things.

He stood up and looked down at him.

"I’m waiting. You’d better make it quick."

With that, he turned his head slightly toward the enormous purple dragon behind him and spoke calmly.

"Ophelia."

"Finish him."

"ROOOOAR!!"

[World-Ending Dragonflame]

Purple Dragonflame descended like a bursting dam, engulfing the Third Division Leader from above.

He didn’t even manage to finish a single sentence before disappearing into the sea of purple-gold fire.

When the flames receded, not a single intact corpse remained.

Only a patch of bubbling, charred ground remained, along with the nearby Lord Altar, which had been burned down to an empty framework.

The runes on the altar went dark one after another before the entire structure finally cracked apart with a sharp crack, disintegrating into countless fragments.

[You have destroyed the Lord Altar of the Judgment Alliance’s Third Division Leader!]

John stood amid the scorched earth and surveyed the surroundings.

More than a dozen territories across the entire area had been completely flattened.

Columns of thick black smoke rose from the ruins, merging into a continuous haze beneath the gloomy sky.

The air was filled with the stench of burning flesh and charred wood.

He opened the loot interface.

Rows of reward notifications cascaded down the screen like a waterfall.

[Obtained: Iron Ore ×176,421, Wood ×112,887, Gold Coins ×189,345, Stone ×156,741.]

[Obtained: 1-Star Unit Training License ×77, 2-Star Unit Training License ×43, 3-Star Unit Training License ×17.]

[Obtained: 1-Star Unit Training Stone ×92, 2-Star Unit Training Stone ×56, 3-Star Unit Training Stone ×28.]

[Obtained: Lord EXP ×456,000.]

[Obtained: Player Equipment — Fine Iron Bracers (Common), Leather Armor (Common), Ironhead Bow (Common), Wolfskin Boots (Common), ...]

[Lord Tyrant has reached Lv20!]

[Your lord level has reached Lv20. Class Advancement Trial unlocked!]

John glanced through the notifications.

There were hundreds of thousands of units of basic resources. The Alliance had undoubtedly plundered far more from other players, but most of those resources had probably already been sent back to headquarters.

These were simply what they hadn’t had time to transfer, and even so, the haul was substantial.

There were also plenty of one- to three-star Unit Training Licenses and Unit Training Stones, but they weren’t particularly useful to him anymore.

As for the ordinary equipment, although John didn’t think much of it, he could keep it for now and sell it for gold coins later.
