Chapter 1916: Clue to True Rebirth

Tesfelone asked, "Which one do you think is better for vertical growth? I’m sure you understand the difference between horizontal growth and vertical growth, right?"

Nathan nodded. "I can give you that answer, but you may want to let me know about your transmutation power first. If I know about it, I might be able to give you some advice on the adjustment and other things. Besides, my suggestion will be more accurate.

"From what I see, because the human race has no gods, you are quite troubled because the other races can look down on you. That’s why there is that greed in your eyes, thinking that you may be able to become a god as long as you possess something I have.

"However, if I give you random things, they might not be suitable for you."

Tesfelone was quite stunned by Nathan’s consideration. "Even though you’re under no obligation to do that?"

"I’d rather make friends than enemies. At the very least, while I’m fighting the aliens, I don’t want to watch my back because I fear someone might stab me in the back."

"That’s understandable." Tesfelone thought for a moment before turning to the other two saints. "Please allow me to discuss this with them."

"Sure." Nathan nodded.

They walked to the side as Machina approached him. "Master, are you going to help them? These dragon gods..."

"I don’t know. For now, I will just follow the usual course of action. I don’t want more enemies after all."

"I guess summoning Tiamat and Abzu won’t change anything, not to mention Nidhogg." Xolotl frowned.

"Hey, Nidhogg is about to become a true god, you know? Once Machina produces the liquid, we will be able to do it." Nathan shook his head. ℯℯ𝑙.

"That depends on who gets that power. There are other youngsters." Xolotl shrugged.

"Fair enough." Nathan chuckled. "Anyway, let’s just proceed with the trade and leave this world as soon as possible. Considering the fact that their god fell in battle a few hundred years ago, they might have some information about the active battlefields. The aliens coming from the portals in this world shouldn’t be strong enough to face those gods, after all."

"That’s true." Xolotl agreed.

After a while, the three saints returned to the negotiation table. Tesfelone took out a small pouch. When he opened it, a book fell out. As he said earlier, the space ring was indeed similar to their magic pouch.

Tesfelone said, "This is the basis of transmutations. I know that you want something equal, but this is just the basic version so that you will know what you’re talking about. If we agree to a trade, we will provide the advanced version of it."

Nathan nodded. "In that case, let me take a look for a second."

Nathan skimmed the book while Machina recorded everything.

After a minute, Nathan explained, "Please correct me if I’m wrong. The power of transmutation is the power to use the energy from a material and transform it into something that can unleash that power.

"By using your own power, you can amplify that power. In other words, the core of your power is in the materials. Establishing yourself on other planets is just a means to acquire materials.

"The core of your vertical growth is this transmutation. After a certain amount of energy, you will use that energy to transmute your own body to a higher level."

"That is correct." Tesfelone confirmed it.

Nathan finally understood why there were so many gods here. This transmutation power could aid the formation of the divine body. In other words, it could also help with the transformation from the divine body to the true vessel.

Nathan contemplated for a moment. "In that case, my suggestions don’t change. The first is a divine seal. This divine seal can amplify your power. It will make your transmutation stronger. Since this transmutation is also helping you with vertical growth, having it might help you as well.

"The second one is the spirit circle. The spirit circle is the method to circulate your energy. Each circle will possess its own unique ability that will allow you to perform transmutation that is unlike anything you’ve seen before. I’m not sure what you actually need to become saints or gods, so you are the one who needs to choose."

Tesfelone had discussed this with the others. That was why, after knowing Nathan didn’t change his offer, he immediately replied, "We’d like to acquire your divine seal. However, we want to acquire your spirit circle as well, but we don’t know what you want to trade."

Nathan thought for a moment. "Well, even I don’t know what you can offer right now."

"Is there anything else you seek?"

"I merely seek more power." Nathan shook his head.

"How about a method to create a permanent transmutation? This is a special method that was left behind the late Human God. Normally, an item that is created through transmutation will disappear after being used a few times.

"However, the late Human God created a unique method that would allow you to create something that could last forever. The downside is that you need to charge that power from time to time."

"Hmm..." Nathan frowned. "Do you have an introduction about? it? At least, so I know what kind of technique it is."

"I can write one." Tesfelone nodded.

"Please." Nathan extended his hand.

Tesfelone took a few minutes to write down the introduction.

It looked like they were talking about an artifact. In a way, it might be a method to supplement the forging ability.

Nathan thought, ’Can’t we combine this power with Iris’s creation and Luna’s forging abilities? Iris’s creation can create the materials. Luna can combine her forging with transmutation to create a new type of artifact. In fact, we might be able to adjust it so that this new artifact can be combined with the Crystal Fusion.’

Xolotl asked, ’Are you talking about a living artifact or something?’

’No. I’m talking about letting you have an artificial body, one that is still connected to me, but moves in a different way. All this time, familiars are created by information and energy. What if we use the combination of this power to create an artificial body? Won’t it be something like Homunculus? Then, we might be able to develop it further and use it as a foundation for the true rebirth I’ve been talking about.’
