"Huh?!" Nathan didn’t expect this answer. "Dead? Why?"

The pyromancer explained, "There was an incident back then. A space element user wreaking havoc in the world. That person tried not only to cause chaos but also to connect the three layers.

"As a result, the space element became taboo from that time. Anyone born with a space element would be killed. Anyone who helped in the birth of that child without reporting it would also be killed.

"With the authorities in the highest layer involved, no one could say anything. In the end, the taboo is still effective today."

"..." Nathan narrowed his eyes. It seemed excessive. He understood how troublesome a space element user could be, but the people who wielded space element were not necessarily bad people

However, these people might not want a headache, so they just decided to kill them.

Nathan didn’t intend to correct anything in this world. Meddling in their affair would just make these gods put a bounty on him. If he had to fend them off like Lord Frost while having to fight the black cell, he would definitely have a headache.

Nathan thought for a moment. "All right. Moving on then. If we are going to enter these two zones, what do we need? Can we just sneak in?"

"No one could stop you from entering the zones. The zones spread wide, so even if you managed to block one side, people could simply enter through another."

"How about destroying the zone?"

"Destroying the zone is simple. If you can absorb all the energy from the core of the zone, the zone will disappear."

"So, if we don’t do that, the zone will remain..."

"Yes." The pyromancer nodded with a serious expression.

Nathan thought for a moment and said, "Very well. I’ve gotten everything I came for. So, let’s proceed with burying him first."

"Yes, sir!" The pyromancer turned grim. He never thought he would have the honor of burying the Great Shakula.

Nathan thought for a moment. He didn’t know how repulsive they were to the space element, so teleporting was out of the question. It would be better to just fly.

So, Nathan wrapped the pyromancer’s body with his energy while Mae maintained the illusion. He carried both him and the corpse to the roof.

"Where is it?"

"That way!" The pyromancer was startled by the fact that he couldn’t move, but he didn’t resist since he knew how strong Nathan was.

Nathan flew according to his directions, with Flora and Mae following right behind.

The place they were talking about was the ruins of that city. It had been abandoned, but on the west of the city, Nathan could see a graveyard.

Nathan landed in the graveyard before summoning Anubis.

"Sir..." The pyromancer looked at Nathan with a serious expression. "May I... do a simple ceremony? It will not take long. I promise."

Nathan nodded.

The pyromancer immediately clapped his hands and started dancing around the hole that Nathan had just dug with his ena.

The simple dance lasted for ten minutes before it ended with him kowtowing in front of the grave.

Anubis said, "The dead has now returned to the cycle of reincarnation. The sins shall be judged, but virtue shall bless you in the underworld. O’ soul, with the authority of Death the Afterlife, I shall guide you to your new cycle."

Anubis wrapped the corpse with his bandages while closing his eyes.

He used his energy to bury the corpse fully before the scales of justice formed above the grave.

The scale started to tilt.

"Right and wrong are perceptions. No one knows what is right, no one knows what is wrong. You are hated, but you are also loved. You have committed many sins, but you have also accumulated so much virtue.

"As the wielder of the Ankh of Reincarnation and the Grand Scales of Justice, I, Anubis, the God of the Death and the Afterlife, have judged that you are allowed to enter the cycle of reincarnation, not to suffer in the total non-existence." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

Anubis raised his paw and tapped the ground. The scales of justice then shone brightly before being replaced by the Ankh of Reincarnation.

The pyromancer couldn’t believe what he had just seen. He knew Nathan was strong, but he didn’t know he was capable of doing something like this.

Besides, Anubis even claimed that he was a god. To be able to have an existence like this conducting a ceremony for his dead would be considered an honor.

The pyromancer closed his eyes as if he were praying for the dead.

Once the light from the Ankh of Reincarnation disappeared, Anubis turned to Nathan and nodded. Because of where he died, there was no soul left. So, Anubis conducted a ceremony with an empty corpse.

However, this was the least they could do to honor his body. After all, Flora had gotten much stronger because of him.

Flora nodded solemnly.

Nathan smiled and lifted up a nearby rock and cut it into a small tombstone.

Rest in peace.

Shakula.

Nathan took a deep breath. "With this, I have fulfilled my promise. Your karma and mine are now separated."

Now that the ceremony was over, Nathan asked, "Where are the two zones located? I will drop you back."

The pyromancer thought that he would gain a lot if he had just followed them and become their guide. At the same time, he knew that greed would most likely ruin him.

Hence, the pyromancer pointed in two directions. "That way is for the Hell Zone while that way is for the Disaster Storm Zone."

"All right. Thank you." Nathan then lifted him up again and brought him back to the building they first met.

Nathan didn’t doubt him because he had ’forced’ the pyromancer to sign the contract of honesty.

Still, because of the pyromancer, his progress in this world had become incomparably smooth.

So, when they had arrived, Nathan summoned the contract. "You have done well. This shall be my thanks."

Nathan used the Soul Contract and sacrificed a material related to the fire element to enhance the pyromancer’s fire element. It wouldn’t be something like turning the fire element into an absolute fire element, but his fire intensity would at least increase by 20 to 30%.

This way, the karma between him and the pyromancer had also been settled.
