The next day, Wu Jinyan arrived at the university, still thinking about what her daughter had said the night before.

"I just wanted to ask, is the scholarship project moving forward?"

Xu Yun asked, "How long will it take, approximately? Is there anything you need from my end to help?"

Stunned by his words, Wu Jinyan cautiously asked for confirmation, "You really are going to fund the scholarship?"

"Of course."

Xu Yun sent a voice message, a laugh in his tone. "Professor, you didn’t think I was joking, did you? I hope you took me seriously."

"No, no, I was just double-checking."

Seeing that Xu Yun was again committing to his promise, and not just talking big for the sake of it, Wu Jinyan felt a wave of relief and happiness.

She replied with a laugh in her voice, "I already took care of the first step yesterday. The department and the university are both on board. Now we just need to get the rest of the procedures handled as quickly as possible."

"Is there anything I can do to help?"

"Nothing else for now."

Wu Jinyan replied, "Well, I was doing some research yesterday, and it looks like there will be some legal matters to handle down the line. We’ll probably need to get a lawyer involved at that point."

"That’s no problem."

Xu Yun said, "I’ll send you the number for my legal advisor on WeChat in a moment. From then on, you can contact him directly with any legal questions. He’ll take care of everything for you."

"Okay, got it."

Wu Jinyan said with a laugh, "Alright, then I won’t keep you from your work. I’ll get started on the paperwork."

"Okay. Thank you for all your hard work, Professor."

"It’s no trouble at all. I’m just running the errands."

Wu Jinyan said, "You’re the one putting up real money to do a good thing. I knew I wasn’t wrong about you back then. I always knew you’d do great things."

She wrinkled her nose and protested, "You’re awful! That’s not what I meant!"
