Chapter 726: This Guy Is Arrogant, Too Arrogant

She was aiming for the top three in her region for this Carnival event.

Originally, she had just planned to crush some newbies today. After winning, she would have a PK battle with another major streamer and then finally make a push for the rankings.

But unexpectedly, her opponent suddenly had a new whale appear today.

‘My luck is the absolute worst.’

If she conceded again this time, she would be utterly humiliated in the streaming community.

So, she decided to make her push for points early and take down her opponent first.

After privately messaging her patrons, she used her own account to lead the charge.

She had prepared 3 million for this Carnival event, which was half a year’s income for her. Combined with her patrons’ money, the total could reach around 8 million.

And so, in her stream, notifications for Carnivals began to pop up in a frenzy.

Her HP bar started to rise, putting pressure on Chen Xin’s.

When the rival streamer’s fans saw their patrons making a move, they immediately got pumped up again and started gloating.

Xu Yun gifted all the remaining money he had on hand in one go.

Another 666 Carnivals.

The opponent’s HP bar, which had just started to recover, was instantly almost depleted again!

The audience in the stream couldn’t see the exact number of gifts, so they could only judge by Xu Yun’s account level.

They watched as his level went from 63 to 66.

Don’t underestimate a mere three-level jump. At this stage, each level-up required about 700,000.

Previously, the platform’s maximum account level was only 60. It had been adjusted to 75 just this year.

Someone had calculated that reaching the maximum level of 75 would require spending about 20 million in total.

So, everyone quickly figured it out. In that last burst, the top-ranked Xu Yun had just spent around another 2 million. All in all, he had spent 5 million within a few minutes!

He was like an unstoppable one-man army.

The fans in the stream went wild and rushed over to the other channel to gloat again.

“Come on, keep it up!”

“Didn’t you want to see what he’s made of? Now that he’s shown you, you’ve all chickened out.”

“You’re only level 50-something, who the fuck are you trying to impress?”

“Ran into a real whale and now you’re dumbfounded, huh?”

The rival streamer’s fans were so thoroughly mocked they couldn’t even speak, frantically urging their own patrons to keep going.

The patrons and the streamer herself looked grim. They were starting to regret provoking their opponent.

But now, the arrow was nocked. They were past the point of no return.

After a quick discussion, they decided they couldn’t afford to save money for the final defense of the Carnival event tower. They would go all-in to win this round first!

So, they gifted the remaining several million all at once.

Although it pained them, out of the 8 million spent, after the platform’s cut and taxes, about 3 million would flow back to them. Their actual loss would only be 5 million.

With an 8-million-yuan all-in, the streamer’s HP bar quickly began to push back.

They could have gifted it all in one go, but in order to run down the clock and win the PK with the least amount of money possible, they were sending gifts 100 at a time.

To their respective fans, the battle between the two whales seemed to have reached a fever pitch.

Just as everyone thought Chen Xin was about to lose, seeing that her number one patron, Xu Yun, had gone silent, a “Sister Chen” suddenly appeared.

The moment she entered, she immediately gifted 3,000 Carnivals in one go.

That was about 10 million yuan.

The opponent’s advancing HP bar was instantly wiped out again!

Every single reversal made the fans in the stream go wild.

“HOLY SHIT, ANOTHER TYCOON SHOWED UP!”

“A level 71 god-tier whale, oh my god!”

“Damn, this is getting hype.”

“Hey, on the other side, who else you got?!”

“It’s a female account. Don’t tell me the whale called his wife over?”

Someone asked curiously in the stream.

“Sister Chen, how much did you just spend?”

Chen Siqi, relishing the rare chance to show off online, let herself go and sent a barrage comment with a smile: “Not much, just 3,000. I’m just playing around with some friends.”

Holy crap, 3,000 Carnivals!

That meant this person had gone from a brand-new account to level 71 in a single go.

It was obvious the account had just been registered.

Damn, the whale called for backup!

The PK battle was only 8 minutes into its 10-minute duration, and the two of them had already spent 15 million.

And from the looks of it, they hadn’t even broken a sweat!

This time, it wasn’t just Chen Xin’s own fans who were silent. The opposing fans, the rival streamer, and her group of patrons were all struck dumb.

The two sides weren’t even in the same league.

In the end, the rival streamer lost the PK battle.

Honoring the bet, the streamer asked Chen Xin if she had any questions for her. Chen Xin gave an awkward laugh and randomly picked a question from her own stream’s barrage comments to ask.

“They want me to ask you, are your boobs fake?”

“Of course they’re real.”

After saying that, the streamer hurriedly disconnected the call.

Thanks to Xu Yun and Yang Siqi’s appearance, this one PK battle had catapulted her total annual Carnival points directly into second place for her region.

She was about 5 million points away from first place and had pulled ahead of third place by more than 7 million!

Third place was the streamer she had just battled!

So, the fans in her stream all congratulated her. Second place in the region was now secure, and she could go walk the red carpet at the Carnival Night!

Because of this PK battle, the number of viewers in Chen Xin’s stream skyrocketed.

However, they were mostly fans of other streamers who had come to watch the drama, curious to see who this sudden powerhouse was.

As the ultimate beneficiary, Chen Xin watched this mysterious, incredibly wealthy whale who had appeared out of nowhere tonight, and she suddenly had a bad feeling.

‘She refused to believe a stranger would be so willing to spend this kind of money on her!’

‘That was 15 million!’

‘Racking her brain, she could only think of one person in the entire world who would be so willing—and able—to spend so much money on her.’

‘Xu Yun!’

When this thought struck Chen Xin, she immediately pretended to go to the bathroom, left her stream, and called Xu Yun.

Xu Yun saw the incoming call from Chen Xin and chose not to answer.

‘He didn’t want to lie to her.’

‘But if he admitted it, he could already guess what Chen Xin would say, given her temper. All his plans would be ruined.’

‘The only thing to do now was stall.’

‘Wait until everything was done, then he would answer, then he would admit it.’

‘By then, no matter how upset she was about the money, no matter how much she cried her makeup off, it would be too late.’

‘He was determined to send her to the so-called summit, to make her the most dazzling woman, crushing all the other major female streamers.’

‘What could he do? He just had to be the domineering man this one time.’

‘Ha ha.’

‘Since the system had given him the confidence to Do as You Please, then he would do just that. Whatever he wanted to do, he would do.’

‘Back when he had no money, he used to watch live-stream PK battles on his phone and fantasize about flexing online just like this.’

‘It was cheesy, but it felt damn good.’

He had finally realized that fantasy, thanks to this opportunity with Chen Xin.

So, he was not only fulfilling Chen Xin’s dream, but also his own.

After ignoring Chen Xin’s call, Xu Yun, channeling his inner edgy teen, sent another barrage comment in the stream.

“Do me a favor and pass a message to all the big-shot streamers: Who dares to challenge me tonight?!”

The words were incredibly domineering.

The fans who had come to watch the show immediately exploded.

‘This guy is arrogant, way too arrogant!’

‘How dare he taunt all the major streamers on the platform!’

Fans of the various major streamers rushed back to their own channels to pass on the message.

Word spread from person to person, and soon, every stream on the platform knew about it. A constant stream of people flooded into Chen Xin’s channel.

Chen Xin, having failed to get through on the phone, returned to her seat. When she saw the viewer count in her stream, she was stunned.

Chen Xin was completely dumbfounded.

‘What in the world happened?’

‘How did the viewer count suddenly jump to over 700,000?!’

What she didn’t know was that many other curious streamers were also live-streaming themselves checking out her channel.

So, between direct and indirect viewers, the number of people watching her stream was probably over a million.

What was even weirder was that many unfamiliar streamers were trying to connect with her for a PK battle.

Chen Xin voiced her confusion in the stream.

Some kindhearted fans explained it to her. Basically, her whale of a patron had declared he would take on all the major streamers to help her win the national number one spot for the annual event tonight.

So now, all the powerful streamers from every category were coming to challenge her to a PK.

Chen Xin: “…”
