Super Rich by Doing as You Please
Chapter 744 - 329: The Way You Say That Makes Me Sound Like a Scumbag
Shanghai.
Upon their arrival, Xu Yun, Su Mu, and the others checked into a five-star hotel.
The biggest and the best.
Xu Yun, in the name of "saving money," only booked one presidential suite for himself and Su Mu to share.
As for her female secretary, she got a luxurious standard room, which also cost several thousand a night.
Su Mu shot him an exasperated glare, not even wanting to call him out on it.
’You’re saving money? By staying in a room that costs 100,000 a night?’
’No need to expose a man’s little schemes.’
Still, this was the first time the two of them had traveled alone together, so Su Mu was quite happy.
Since the pre-listing business for the stock exchange wouldn’t start until tomorrow, Su Mu gave her secretary the day off to go have fun and explore Shanghai.
Meanwhile, she and Xu Yun enjoyed some time alone.
The two first found a well-regarded Chinese restaurant, settling into a small private room on the second floor near the Bund, overlooking the river.
It offered a great view of the night scenery outside.
At the restaurant’s recommendation, they ordered some rather elegant dishes, with names like "A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains" and "Opulent Spring River."
As part of the experience, beautiful young women dressed in traditional-style costumes danced by their table.
They could genuinely eat while enjoying the performance.
Xu Yun asked out of curiosity and learned that the young dancers were all professional students from a dance academy.
They came here to work part-time in their spare time.
They earned two to three hundred yuan per performance, and if they were lucky, a generous customer would give them an extra tip.
It had to be said, this was one possible career path for dance students.
Xu Yun was just such a generous customer. Seeing as they danced quite well, he gave each of them 10,000 yuan.
This sent the group of young women into a state of ecstasy.
If Su Mu hadn’t been there, they probably would have thrown themselves into his arms to show their gratitude.
Once they had all left, Su Mu smiled. "Giving them money was just a pretense. You took the opportunity to get their WeChat contacts, didn’t you?"
"Sister Su, how could you think so little of me?"
Xu Yun retorted, "It’s not easy for university students working part-time. I just help where I can. Besides, with you here, no other woman can even catch my eye."
"And you think I believe that?"
"Of course you do."
Xu Yun thoughtfully picked up a piece of fish with his chopsticks and placed it on her plate. "The waiter said this is a purely wild-caught large yellow croaker. It costs 18,000 yuan a piece. You should try it."
"I don’t like fish."
"Alright, then I’ll eat it myself."
Xu Yun said, "Let me see what a fish that costs over 10,000 yuan actually tastes like."
After taking a bite, he said directly, "It’s pretty good. Are you sure you don’t want to try some?"
"I’m afraid of the bones."
Su Mu explained, "I got one stuck in my throat when I was little. It left me with a bit of a trauma."
"I’ll pick them out for you. Then you won’t have to be afraid."
As he spoke, Xu Yun began to meticulously pick the bones from the fish.
Watching him, Su Mu felt a wave of emotion.
This was the first time in her life a man had ever picked fish bones out for her.
Women are sentimental creatures, no matter how cool and distant they may seem.
And it’s often these small, casual gestures that move them the most.
After deboning a piece of fish, Xu Yun picked it up with his chopsticks, brought it to Su Mu’s lips, and smiled. "Here, open up."
"I’m not a child anymore. I can do it myself."
"Nope."
Xu Yun said, "You’re my woman. It’s my job to dote on you."
"Alright, I can’t win against you."
Blushing slightly, Su Mu parted her cherry-like lips and ate the piece of fish from Xu Yun’s chopsticks.
"How is it?" Xu Yun asked.
"It really is delicious."
"I’ll keep going, then."
Watching Xu Yun continue to carefully pick out the fish bones, Su Mu couldn’t help but sigh. "If only I had met you in college, or before I got married."
"It’s not too late now, is it?"
"It is."
Su Mu said sadly, "I’m divorced. I’m destined to be someone who can’t be formally presented by your side."
"What do you mean, you can’t be formally presented?"
Xu Yun moved closer, wrapped his arms around her, and gave her a kiss. "Whether you’re good enough or not is for me to decide," he said comfortingly. "As long as I don’t mind, who would dare to look down on you?"
"It’s okay. A mistress is a mistress, I guess."
Su Mu smiled. "I don’t care about that piece of paper anymore anyway. As long as you like me and treat me well, and your future, official wife doesn’t come looking for trouble with me, that’s enough."
"Don’t worry. As long as I don’t get married, all of you are equal."
"You can’t possibly stay unmarried forever, can you?"
Su Mu couldn’t help but laugh. "Your mother wouldn’t agree with that idea either."
"All she wants is a grandson."
Xu Yun replied, "As long as I bring her a grandson in a few years, everything will be fine."
Speaking of children, this made Su Mu a bit curious.
She knew that Xu Yun didn’t need to use condoms.
Su Mu asked, "With so many women around you, has none of them gotten pregnant?"
"When I don’t want you to get pregnant, you can’t get pregnant."
Xu Yun answered honestly. "So you don’t have to secretly take pills anymore. It’s fine."
"..." Su Mu was left speechless.
After dinner, the two went to the Bund, walking and stopping amidst the surging crowds, looking just like a couple.
No, wait. They *were* a couple.
Su Mu asked, "I have work to do tomorrow. What will you do on your own?"
"First, I’ll go buy a house. That way, we won’t have to stay in a hotel the next time we come."
Xu Yun replied, "Then I’ll go to a university to visit a friend."
He thought of the girl from Xinjiang, Anar Guli. He seemed to recall she was studying at the Shanghai Theatre Academy.
They hadn’t seen each other in a long time since they last parted ways.
He had told her to come find him before she started school, but she hadn’t. She hadn’t even sent a message.
In any case, he had taken her virginity that night, making him her first man.
Since he was here in the city anyway, he felt he ought to go see her.
