As he finished cleaning the kitchen and was about to head downstairs to the gym, Lin Wanyu stopped him.

"Gao Yuan, maybe a shorter workout tonight? Come back early."

"Is something wrong? You can just tell me now."

Gao Yuan asked, looking at Lin Wanyu with a puzzled expression.

"It’s nothing."

At the gym, Gao Yuan had already run 10 kilometers that morning. He hadn’t felt any discomfort, but he needed a short rest after the run before he could start lifting weights.

So that evening, Wang Lin adjusted his running task, breaking the 10 kilometers into three parts and interspersing them with his weight training.

Gao Yuan remembered what Lin Wanyu had said before he left. He deliberately picked up his running pace, wanting to get back sooner and find out what she wanted.

When he got home, Gao Yuan found the living room lights were still on, but neither of the women was there.

After showering, Gao Yuan assumed they had both gone to sleep. Instead of changing into loungewear, he just wrapped a bath towel around his waist and stepped out.

But as soon as he pushed his door open, he found Lin Wanyu leaning against the doorframe of the master bedroom, watching him.

"Why are you still up?"

Gao Yuan asked in a low voice. In response, Lin Wanyu simply beckoned to him with her finger.

Gao Yuan walked over slowly, leaned down to give her a light kiss on the lips, and whispered, "Go on, get to bed."

Lin Wanyu shook her head, wrapping her arms around Gao Yuan’s neck and letting her whole body hang from him. "I want you to carry me to bed."

Gao Yuan glanced into the dark bedroom, then scooped up Lin Wanyu’s legs and carried her inside.

He could faintly make out Li Mengqing sleeping on her side, facing the window. He bent over and gently placed Lin Wanyu on the bed.

Seeing that Lin Wanyu still hadn’t let go of his neck, Gao Yuan leaned in and kissed her again.

’Surely this goodnight kiss would be enough for her.’

But to his surprise,

Lin Wanyu’s left hand shot down from his neck and yanked off the towel around his waist. With a tug of her right arm, she pulled him down on top of her.

Then, with a shift of her body, Lin Wanyu made him slide into the center of the large bed.

He was completely taken aback by Lin Wanyu’s bold move.

It wasn’t that he was afraid of Li Mengqing discovering them, but that he was afraid of waking her up.

She’d received her task completion reward today, and he knew she must be exhausted from work. He just wanted her to get a good night’s rest.

Gao Yuan couldn’t help but turn his head to see if he had woken Li Mengqing, only to see a pair of shining eyes in the darkness.
