Chapter 1370 - 1373: Coming to Kill

Half an hour later, Lin Feng finally finished the acupuncture to reroute Su Zi’s meridians; doing this kind of meticulous work twice in one day had really worn him out.

Logically, after finishing what he had to do, Lin Feng should have gone back to his own room to rest. But it was rare that Ning Aoxue wasn’t around to interrupt, and Su Zi was lying right there in front of him. Honestly, how could Lin Feng rest easy letting Su Zi sleep alone in a room by herself? She’d be so lonely!

With this deeply "responsible" mindset, Lin Feng decided to bravely shoulder the burden of staying by Su Zi’s side to keep her company... Yeah, his decision definitely had nothing to do with being greedy for wom... uh, lust, absolutely nothing at all!

That night, already exhausted beyond belief, Su Zi only vaguely felt in her half-asleep state that her whole body had been kneaded over and over by two demonic claws. It was really comfortable, but honestly, way too clingy...

Early next morning, just as the sky was getting light, Lin Feng keenly sensed some movement from Ning Yujiao’s room across the corridor. Feeling guilty, he slipped out from under Su Zi’s covers, seized the right moment, and sneaked downstairs like a thief.

Lin Feng had left for not even ten seconds when Ning Yujiao’s door clicked open, and Ning Aoxue’s stunning face peeked out from inside.

The morning wind was a bit chilly. Ning Aoxue’s hands shrank slightly as she pressed down on the front of her nightgown, her beautiful eyes suspiciously flicking toward the door of her own room, a hint of hesitation flashing across her face.

"Could Lin Feng still be in the room? Did they really lose control last night and do something they shouldn’t have? And I don’t even know if Su Zi’s awake or not." Ning Aoxue muttered to herself. She wanted to go back to her own room, but she was afraid of accidentally bumping into someone she shouldn’t be seeing, so of course she hesitated. Thinking about what Lin Feng and Su Zi might have done in the room the night before, a sour little feeling suddenly rose in Ning Aoxue’s heart. "Hmph, whatever happened, I’m changing all the sheets and covers today, that’s for sure!"

"Ugh... so cold... Sis, why’d you open the door? It’s freezing!" Ning Yujiao was woken by a gust of cold air from outside and grumbled unwillingly.

Ning Aoxue was already in a bad mood, and hearing Miss Ning’er complain at her only made her even more annoyed. "Ning Yujiao, at least look at what time it is. You should be up reviewing your homework already!"

"My god, Sis, are you insane? Do you see what time it is? I’m on winter break!" Ning Yujiao pulled her head all the way under the blanket.

"Uh..."

In the end, Ning Aoxue still screwed up her courage and knocked on her own door. She wasn’t some timid girl afraid of trouble; how could she possibly be scared of going back to her own room!

However, when she saw the sleepy Su Zi open the door and realized that Su Zi was the only one in the room, Ning Aoxue did let out a sigh of relief. She wanted to chat with Su Zi about what had happened last night, but it was like opening the door had used up all of Su Zi’s strength. As soon as she went back to the bed, she collapsed onto the big bed and didn’t move again.

...

It was another perfect winter day. Lin Feng slept back in his room until ten, and only after he’d taken a call from Tang Rou in America—just her checking in that she was safe—did he lazily sit up in bed, wondering what he should do today...

If he had time, he definitely had to go to Longfeng Martial Hall. Lu Zhanpeng’s holiday was way too short; he needed to hurry and help him and Xie Nan improve their strength. And he himself needed to get some practice in with his fist techniques to prepare for fighting over the Hong Sect Sect Leader position at year’s end.

Though Lin Feng was very confident in his own strength, he didn’t underestimate the Sect Leader struggle. Because if he wanted to take the position smoothly, he didn’t just need to defeat Bai Yuanshan; he also had to make the leaders of all twelve branches of the Hong Sect completely accept him before he could truly sit tight in that seat!

Bai Yuanshan was already a formidable opponent, and on top of that he had to face the leaders of twelve branches. If Lin Feng’s prestige were strong enough, even if his strength was a bit weaker, the others might still give him some face. But Lin Feng was, unfortunately, a total newcomer. Other than those elder seniors who couldn’t care less about the Sect Leader contest, pretty much no one would accept him!

So Lin Feng needed to spend this period of time reviewing his fist techniques as much as possible, trying to find the most energy‑efficient combat style, so he could stand out at the Hong Sect’s year‑end gathering!

But before Lin Feng had time to execute his plan, he was jolted awake by an angry female voice outside his door.

"Lin Feng, get out here! I know it was you, you’d better get your ass out here right now! Who gave you the guts to pull something like this? I’m so mad I could explode..."

"Lin Feng... I’m giving you ten seconds. If you don’t come out, I’ll shoot your lock off. Ten, nine, eight, seven..."

Hearing that last sentence, Lin Feng couldn’t help jumping out of bed. He rushed to the door, yanked open the poor innocent thing, and with a forced smile asked the uninvited guest outside in a kindly tone, "Ye Lin, what’s got you so worked up this early in the morning?!"

That’s right, standing outside Lin Feng’s door was Ye Lin, her face slightly darkened. Her beautiful eyes were as cold as thousand‑year ice as she glared at Lin Feng. Her hands were tensely rubbing at her finger joints, the corners of her mouth slightly raised, and she was actually holding a police pistol, aimed squarely at his lock like she was really about to fire.

Su Zi and Ning Aoxue were standing a short distance behind Ye Lin, watching her curiously. The two women had no idea what Lin Feng had done to Ye Lin, but seeing her this furious, they figured either he’d accidentally knocked her up, or he’d seduced her and then dumped her!

"Hmph, you finally dare to open the door?" Ye Lin stared at Lin Feng and let out a cold laugh. "Lin Feng, you tell me! Was it you who suddenly got the higher‑ups to transfer me from the Detective Squad to the Propaganda Office?"

As she spoke, Ye Lin swung the muzzle around and actually aimed it at Lin Feng’s chest...

Fuck, this chick really dared! Lin Feng very honestly raised both hands, looking at Ye Lin with an innocent face.

"Ye Lin, if you’ve got something to say, say it nicely... Put the toy down, careful it doesn’t go off by accident!" Lin Feng said with a bitter smile, while quietly activating his Inner Strength to form an invisible air wall in front of his body, in case Ye Lin got too worked up and accidentally pulled the trigger...

"Scared now?" Ye Lin looked at Lin Feng triumphantly, sneering, "If you knew you’d be scared, you shouldn’t have messed with me. Now spit it out—was it you who pulled the strings or not?"

"What strings did I pull? You need to make yourself clear." Lin Feng looked at Ye Lin, pretending not to understand what she meant.

"Still playing dumb! Be honest—did you secretly go to Director Liu, Liu Haidong, and badmouth me, which got me stuck working in propaganda for the rest of my life?" Ye Lin pressed on relentlessly, continuing to interrogate him.

Only now did Lin Feng understand why Ye Lin was so angry. So the girl thought he’d filed a complaint about her, got her kicked off the front lines, and that’s why she was furious!

But seriously, didn’t she realize that, out of concern for her, he would also try to find a way to get her transferred off the front lines?
