Super Soldier in the City

Chapter 2810 - 2872: The Heart of Parents Everywhere

  • Next Chapter

So an hour later, Li Yifei opened the door of the villa and saw the anxious family of three. The little girl already knew she was here for treatment. Standing at the door, she looked up at Li Yifei, smiled innocently despite her illness, and said, "Uncle, we meet again!"

"Yes, we meet again. Come in." Li Yifei stepped aside.

The girl’s parents repeatedly expressed their gratitude, having placed all their hopes on Li Yifei.

After entering the house, Wu Shuwei also came downstairs. The little girl greeted her, and after some pleasantries, her parents stood there nervously waiting for Li Yifei to speak.

"The doctor is upstairs. The little girl should come with me. If we can treat her, I’ll let you know directly. If not... then I’m afraid there’s nothing we can do!" Li Yifei said straightforwardly.

"We are prepared mentally, but... should we just go up without meeting the Master Physician?" the girl’s parents hesitated, unsure whether to trust blindly. But having no other options, they reluctantly accepted the situation, feeling even more uncertain when they couldn’t see the doctor.

Seeing their worry, Li Yifei laughed and said, "Alright, I didn’t want to be too shocking, but actually, I am the Master Physician."

"What?" The girl’s parents were immediately startled, both staring at Li Yifei in disbelief. The girl’s father said, "Sir, please don’t deceive us. We are already out of options!"

"Yes, we came because of your mention of the Master Physician, but we would never use our daughter as a stake," the girl’s mother said.

The little girl looked on, her expression suddenly saddened.

"Inviting you here, I’d never deceive you. I didn’t clarify yesterday because I’m young, and I worried you’d find it unbelievable. But look at this thing—it can’t be faked." With that, a mass of True Qi appeared in Li Yifei’s palm, dense and white, floating and flickering like it was alive, leaving the family of three spellbound, clearly not understanding it.

"This is True Qi. You can think of it as something cultivated by ancient practitioners. In fact, it is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine. You might understand it as Qi therapy. It’s because of this that I dare to boast I might be able to treat your daughter’s illness!" Li Yifei explained.

Of course, the girl’s parents could understand, but they had never heard of it before. Though they’ve heard of Qigong, they asked, "Is this... Qigong?"

"More or less, you can think of it that way, but it’s definitely not a trick!" Li Yifei said.

Suddenly, the couple knelt down together, intending to kowtow in gratitude to Li Yifei. The latter waved his hand to stop them and said, "Meeting is fate. Consider this thanks for the little girl helping us with the photo. You don’t need to do this, and I can’t promise a hundred percent cure; it still depends on her fortune."

"Thank you, we misunderstood you!" the couple said emotionally.

Li Yifei nodded and said, "Alright, let’s head upstairs. I need to check her first. Even if treatment is possible, it won’t be quick, so don’t worry!"

"We definitely won’t worry. Please!"

Accompanied by the little girl, they went upstairs. Entering the bedroom, the little girl, clearly awestruck by Li Yifei’s magic, asked, "Uncle, are you an immortal?"

Li Yifei automatically ignored her calling him uncle—yesterday she called him big brother—and said, "I’m not an immortal, just a doctor. Come, sit on the bed, let’s check you first."

"Okay, thank you for your hard work, Uncle!" The sensible little girl positioned herself, ready for Li Yifei’s examination.

"Don’t be afraid, the check-up isn’t painful, and the treatment won’t hurt much either."

"It’s okay, Uncle. I’m used to it. My body always hurts, but not thinking about it helps," the little girl said.

Li Yifei said no more. True Qi flowed from his hands into the little girl’s body as he started examining her. The process took a full half hour before Li Yifei finished, now with a detailed understanding of her illness.

In a word, her condition was... critical, with death a constant threat. She might fall asleep tonight and never wake up tomorrow.

In short, it’s severe and needs immediate treatment. Treatment is undoubtedly tricky because cancer cells are also normal cells. Being normal cells, they must be distinguished, even though cancer cells are somewhat larger. But this difference is only visible under a microscope—imagine how careful Li Yifei must be.

Of course, he could kill some of the body’s normal cells, but the girl is weak and can’t lose too many. Additionally, True Qi’s restorative power helps repair her body to avoid the risk of her being too frail to survive the elimination of cancer cells.

In summary, it’s a huge undertaking. After having the girl wait, Li Yifei went downstairs and told the girl’s parents and Wu Shuwei, "Shuwei, order some dishes for lunch. Don’t worry about me. I’ll need about ten hours for the initial treatment!"

This was like a calming pill to the girl’s parents, indicating potential for saving her. Wu Shuwei nodded, "Alright, don’t worry."

The girl’s parents stood excitedly, unsure how to express their gratitude: "This is just the first treatment. There will be more, so wait patiently."

"Alright, alright!" Beyond ’alright,’ they couldn’t find other words.

Li Yifei returned upstairs and first performed several cycles to adjust his physical state. Sitting opposite the girl, he sealed ten of her meridian points, not being able to treat the whole body simultaneously due to the constraints of his focus.

This was actually very troublesome, as the cancer had already spread, not confined to one place. Her body’s organs could be invaded by cancer cells, risking transformation into cancerous tissue, making treatment very challenging. True Qi, although magical, is an energy form that requires his control.

Regardless, he had to try, so Li Yifei began the treatment.

Initially planned for ten hours, it took fourteen hours before Li Yifei withdrew his True Qi. From morning treatment till late night, Li Yifei was entirely absorbed and unaware of the external world; even a child could have killed him in this vulnerable state, an adventurous act he would not normally dare, especially at home where he stayed alert against potential assassins.

Opening his eyes, Li Yifei seemed quite weary. Though highly accomplished, his True Qi almost empty, his energy depleted significantly.

After sitting to restore himself for an hour, he got off the bed. The girl was still asleep, this time without medication or pain, thanks to Li Yifei’s initial treatment. At least, the widespread tumors were removed, expelled through her blood vessels. Li Yifei disposed of a basin of blood mixed with tumor tissue down the toilet before heading downstairs.

Downstairs, the girl’s parents, though prepared, had waited anxiously, worried they’d miss something, waiting for over ten hours. With footsteps heard, they reflexively stood up.

Wu Shuwei, unable to withstand fatigue, opened her eyes blearily before recalling the event. Seeing Li Yifei’s exhausted expression, she asked, "How is it? Is the treatment completed?"

Li Yifei grinned and replied, "The first treatment is over, not cured but at least out of immediate danger!"

"Oh my God, thank you, thank you!" The girl’s mother, overly emotional, swayed and collapsed. Her father hurried to catch her, gently placing her on the sofa and pinching her philtrum.

Li Yifei checked her briefly and said, "Let her rest for a while. Go upstairs and see your daughter, but don’t wake her. Although the tumors have been removed temporarily, she’s still very weak and needs plenty of sleep."

"Thank you, thank you!" The girl’s father said as he rushed upstairs, unable to contain his joy.

Li Yifei sat down, although meditating an hour recovered some energy, he was very tired. Sitting down, Wu Shuwei joined him and asked, "Is she really cured?"

"Of course, I have treated others before, but never this complex. This has spread throughout, and her body is weak, at a late stage, so it’s quite demanding. Probably two more sessions will be needed."

"Two more... Yifei, do you realize how amazing this is? It’s cancer! My God, if this got out, you’d win the Nobel Prize in Medicine and shock the world."

"Shock my foot! My treatment method... even if I don’t rest, I could only treat a few hundred people a year. With so many cancer patients, I’d kill myself trying!" Li Yifei retorted with a grin.

Wu Shuwei understood and chuckled, "True, but still, it’s remarkable and admirable."

"Are you now my fan?" Li Yifei asked with squinted eyes.
