Chapter 611: It’ll All Be Mine When You’re Dead

“Here, Ah Chu. You have tea while we drink. Cheers.”

He had always been very satisfied with Lin Chu.

Since his daughter started dating Lin Chu, her life had found its footing. Her career had taken off, her personal life had stabilized, and she’d ascended to a whole new level. As for the various rumors about Lin Chu’s extracurricular activities, well, that was perfectly normal for a man. Once he reached a certain age, he’d naturally focus on his family… Yang Guangming, who had caroused his entire life, didn’t think it was such a big deal.

To put it bluntly, even the damn village chief had multiple wives and concubines…

He himself had spent plenty of time wining and dining in his life.

For a big boss of Lin Chu’s stature, a few extra women were nothing.

After a few more words, the atmosphere gradually warmed.

Lin Haifu hadn’t been genuinely angry with his son anyway; he was just putting on a show for the others. Now that no one seemed to care, he dropped the scowl after a few drinks.

As they ate, drank, and chatted, it began to feel somewhat like a happy, harmonious family gathering.

“Uncle, I really like this doggy! When I go home, can you give him to me?”

Lin Sen’s son—whose name Lin Chu didn’t even know—looked to be in first or second grade. He was at that bratty age where he was a nuisance to everyone. While the adults ate, he’d been playing with the dog off to the side. Now, he was tugging on Lin Chu’s arm, suddenly making his demand.

“I can’t do that. But if you like dogs, your uncle can buy one for you.”

Lin Chu smiled and patted his head.

“Xiaobao, get over here! What are you saying?”

“You can’t ask for things that aren’t yours!”

Lin Sen shot up, yanked his son over, and gave him a solid, resounding slap on the back of his little head.

The little brat burst into tears with a loud WAH.

“I want it! I want the puppy! I have to have it!”

“You’re not getting married, and you don’t have a son! My dad said, after you die, all your stuff will be mine!”

He bawled, his voice surprisingly powerful as it echoed through the entire living room.

At these words, the atmosphere in the living room instantly froze.

You could hear a pin drop.

Lin Chu’s expression flickered, and he looked at Lin Sen with a smirk that wasn’t quite a smile.

Lin Sen’s face went deathly pale. “Cousin, I… I never taught him that! It must have been some of the village gossips spouting nonsense.”

“Get out!”

Lin Haifu slammed his hand on the table and roared without a shred of mercy.

“But, Uncle, I…”

Lin Sen stammered, his face flushing red. He took a deep breath but couldn’t get any more words out. Picking up his son, he shuffled toward the door, head down and shoulders slumped.

“I’m gonna go beat this kid! Beat him to death!”

He said viciously.

Outside, in the courtyard, the sound of the child’s heart-wrenching screams soon followed.

Lin Haifu strode out the door. “Get lost! Don’t ruin my appetite!”

Their eyes met for a moment. Lin Sen jutted his chin and gave a slight shake of his head. Then, holding his son, he strode out the main gate, the cries slowly fading into the distance.

The corner of Lin Haifu’s mouth curled into a smile, but he quickly suppressed it before turning back to the living room.

‘This little ploy… Ah Sen and his son really had to take one for the team. The little rascal’s acting was pretty good, too!’

‘This little performance… was, of course, “directed” by none other than Lin Haifu himself.’

‘It was all to force his son to get married.’

‘And if he wouldn’t get married, then he’d better hurry up and make a grandchild for me!’

‘He’d figured it out by now. Nothing else he said would work. When it came to this, Lin Chu was completely shameless, immune to pressure. He just wanted to be single, to be free, to have beautiful women. He didn’t want a family, didn’t want responsibility, and didn’t want to be a father.’

‘But that line—”When you die, all your stuff will be mine”—was sure to hit his son’s pressure point.’

‘No matter how vast your fortune is, without a son to inherit it all, you’re finished. Not just when you die—even when you get old, you’re a nobody!’

‘Sure, you could donate it all. No problem there.’

‘But what about before that?’

‘Aren’t all these relatives going to swoop in and pick the bones of the man with no heir?’

‘Lin Haifu knew for a fact that this seemingly “innocent” comment from a child would absolutely sicken his son to the core.’

When he sat back down.

The atmosphere at the table had grown heavy.

Yang Guangming patted Lin Chu’s shoulder, offering a comforting smile. “That kid has no manners. Don’t take it to heart. You and Huihui are still very young… There’s no rush…”

Of course, he didn’t mean a word of it. He was actually dying for his daughter and Lin Chu to have two kids in three years so he could be a grandfather already.

‘But as her father, I can’t be the one pushing them at a time like this, can I?’

‘It would just be counterproductive.’

Hearing this, Lin Haifu glanced at Yang Guangming. His lips moved as if he wanted to say something, but after a moment’s hesitation, he just lowered his head and remained silent.

‘He wanted to argue, to even seize the opportunity to propose a marriage on his son’s behalf. But then he remembered—there was still the other one at home. If he brought up marriage here, how would he explain it to Yaya back home?’

‘This damn kid, all he does is make these kinds of messes. I don’t even know how to clean up after him anymore!’

Lin Chu’s gaze swept around.

He saw the shifty look in his old man’s eyes and, after a moment’s thought, pretty much figured out what had just happened.

‘That little brat… would he dare say something like that if an adult hadn’t put him up to it?’

‘This had his old man’s fingerprints all over it. Ninety-nine percent certain.’

He poured himself a cup of tea, downed it in one gulp without looking up, and slowly rose to his feet. He placed a hand on Yang Huixian’s shoulder.

“I’m full. We’re going upstairs. Excuse us, take your time.”

Yang Huixian froze, looking at Lin Chu in disbelief. ‘Wait, what does he mean by this?’

‘In front of my dad, your dad, and your Uncle Nine, you’re just going to take me upstairs… to make a baby?’

‘Isn’t this a little too forward?’

Her face flushed slightly red.

But she also didn’t quite know what to say or what to do.

The three old men, with a combined age of over one hundred and fifty, were all a bit shocked by Lin Chu’s actions. They didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Yang Guangyao’s eyes glinted with amusement. Lin Chu’s behavior was rude, yes, but he found himself admiring it.

Setting aside their family ties for a moment, the mark of a powerful man was his willingness to flip the table, to turn hostile, to defend his own will as fiercely as he’d defend his own life.

“Go on, go on. Take advantage of this time while you’re healthy and have a moment to spare. Go and make a baby.”

“This is between you two as a couple. I’m an outsider, so I can’t meddle too much. You’re a famous boss now, so I don’t have much to teach you… Just one piece of advice: when a woman is with you and has your children, she’s either in it because you treat her well, or because you can provide for her and the kids. It has to be one or the other.”

“After all, if you ever run into real trouble, family is always your strongest support.”

Yang Guangyao said, his gaze fixed intently on Lin Chu.

This was truly advice from the bottom of an elder’s heart.

Given the circumstances and Lin Chu’s current power, this was the most practical solution.

Things like official status, on the other hand, weren’t so important anymore.

Making a scene over such superficial things would do more harm than good.

Hearing this, Yang Guangming glanced at him. A flicker of discomfort crossed his mind, but he immediately suppressed it and remained silent.

There was nothing to say.

There was nothing he *could* say.

When a man’s power reached a certain level, he really could… do as he pleased.

What could he say?

Even taking a huge step back and looking at it emotionally, his daughter absolutely could not leave Lin Chu now.

If the two of them really had a child now, well, that would make things much simpler.

“Haha, Uncle Nine, I get it. Don’t worry. If she wants money, she’ll have money. If she wants love, she’ll have love. She won’t be lacking anything.”

“You guys stay and chat. We’re just going upstairs to talk for a bit.”

Lin Chu spoke with a confident assertiveness, cutting through the tangled mess of the conversation. He took Yang Huixian’s hand and led her straight upstairs.

And she, naturally, didn’t refuse.

Many things were like this.

Sometimes, being the bad guy, the bandit, the bully, actually makes things much simpler.

Conversely, if you’re indecisive, always trying to consider everyone’s feelings, you’ll just end up tormenting yourself with internal conflict. It doesn’t solve anything, and the final outcome is rarely what you wanted in the first place.

A tiger!

A tiger in the heart, walking its own path!
