Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts
Chapter 620 - 358: Head of the Household
Chapter 620: Chapter 358: Head of the Household
After standing frozen for a few seconds, Yang Huixian spun around and went back into the living room. The warm, orange-toned light was cozy, and the puppy wagged its tail at the door, but she felt nothing but agitation.
’Seriously?’
’Right now? On Lunar New Year’s Eve? Pulling a stunt like this? Are you just trying to make me sick?’
Snatching her coat from the sofa, Yang Huixian quickly threw it on and glanced at Lin Haifu. "Dad, something’s come up. I have to step out for a bit."
She had already started calling him "Dad."
Just then, Lin Haifu saw what was happening outside. His son was holding the hand of a blonde, blue-eyed woman, swaggering toward the front door. Lin Haifu’s pupils contracted, and he sucked in a sharp breath.
’What the hell?’
’What is this nonsense!’
’Has this kid lost his mind?’
"Don’t go. You can’t leave. We don’t know what’s going on out there... Sit down. Eat. Dad will sort this out for you."
Taking a deep breath, Lin Haifu said through clenched teeth, his fists tightening at his sides. They were itching for a fight.
He wanted to punch someone.
’This is no way to handle things.’
’Fooling around outside, living it up, that’s all fine as long as you don’t take it too far. The women in the family have a tacit understanding to look the other way and not bring it up.’
’But now he’s brought one home. This is just too insulting.’
’What girl could possibly endure this kind of humiliation?’
"You stay put. I’ll go take a look."
Lin Haifu offered another comforting word to Yang Huixian and hurried to the entryway. Seeing Lin Chu and the woman already coming through the front door, he instinctively spread his arms to block their path.
"Who’s this? What do you think you’re doing?"
His tone was deliberately obstructive.
’Today, this foreign woman is absolutely not setting foot in this house. No matter what!’
’In short, it came down to three words: Can’t come in!’
’Weren’t the women in this country enough for you? You had to go fool around abroad! And you even brought one home!’
"Dad, this is my girlfriend. I brought her here. Please don’t block the way. We can go inside and talk things over calmly."
Lin Chu said with a placid smile. His tone was gentle, but his attitude was unyielding.
"Talk about what? What is there to talk about? If you insist, then both of you can leave! This is outright rebellion! Is this how a decent human being acts?"
Lin Haifu refused to give an inch. He even grabbed a nearby broom, holding it horizontally across his chest like an old soldier armed to defend his home.
’Besides, the one inside was still watching.’
’As long as this woman doesn’t set foot inside today, everything else is negotiable.’
’But if she does, then there’s nothing left to discuss.’
He had grown very fond of Yang Huixian over the past few months. In terms of being docile and obedient, she couldn’t compare to Yaya, but she wasn’t supposed to be some demure, sheltered girl. She had her own career, came from a good family—where else could you find a daughter-in-law like that?
’As for this foreign woman, she could get lost. What a piece of work!’
Lin Haifu’s allegiance was clear from the start.
Witnessing the scene unfold, Dongnya was mortified. Her face flushed beet-red, and she wished the ground would open up and swallow her. She had, of course, also spotted the woman inside, who was now watching them through a glass window.
In that instant, everything clicked.
"Is that your wife?"
she asked softly, looking up at Lin Chu.
"Not yet. We’re not married."
Lin Chu replied coolly, pulling her hand and continuing forward. "Dad, I’m going to make things clear right now. My decision is final. Anyone who wants to leave can leave, and anyone who wants to stay can stay. I don’t care either way... Don’t even think about stopping me, because you can’t. And don’t give me any crap about being unfilial. You never bothered to manage me before, and you sure as hell can’t control me now."
"I’m a grown man. From now on, I make my own decisions."
"And I’ll be the one to bear all the consequences."
"And that’s that."
"So, are you going to move?"
Hearing his son’s calm voice, Lin Haifu froze, suddenly at a complete loss. He never imagined his son would say something like that.
"It’s a father’s god-given right to discipline his son!"
he couldn’t help but shout.
"But you’re also the one who told me to spread my wings and fly on my own, aren’t you? You can’t go back on your word."
Lin Chu responded with a laugh and took two more steps forward until the broom was nearly pressed against his face.
Lin Haifu stared at him in silence, then gritted his teeth and stomped his foot. "Don’t give me that nonsense! I can’t win an argument with you, but it comes down to this: she’s not coming in! So either she goes, or you both get out! I’d have been better off giving birth to a slab of char siu than to you!"
"Well, if you’re going to say that, you might as well make me into char siu right now. Human-meat char siu buns."
Lin Chu, still smiling, then shouted toward the house, "Ah Xian, come out here and say something! Disarm my dad for me!"
’Of course, he understood what his dad was thinking.’
’The key to this whole situation lay with Yang Huixian.’
Inside the house.
Hearing Lin Chu’s voice, Yang Huixian took a deep breath. She was so exasperated she almost had to laugh.
’That bastard. Still trying to order me around at a time like this.’
"Dad, just let them in."
Hearing her words, Lin Haifu glanced back, a look of resignation on his face. He lowered the broom, stepped away from the door, and walked toward the main gate.
He took the dog with him as he left, but not before locking the main gate.
’Looks like they would have to get this sorted out today.’
’But couples fight. They argue, and then they make up. The least I can do is lock them in so nobody runs off.’
"Well then, you all have a good long talk!"
"I’m too old for this kind of drama. I’m going for a walk!"
Hearing his dad’s parting shots, Lin Chu glanced back, amused.
’Heh, my old man has a flair for the dramatic. What a wingman.’
’Dad might have acted fierce, but deep down, he was definitely on my side. It couldn’t be helped. After all, I’m his only son.’
