Chapter 436: Yao Qian
Chapter 436: Chapter 436: Yao Qian
"Boom!"
The fierce battle resumed once more; Ji Chen had no way out—if he wished to reach the end of the Immortal Road alive, he could only sweep away all enemies before him.
The battle concluded.
His breath was chaotic, but fortunately, he had slain his opponent and could continue towards the end of the Immortal Road.
Along the way, Ji Chen encountered numerous powerful adversaries, each possessing Quasi-Emperor Realm strength.
Yet none could impede his steps.
These humanoid creatures on the Ancient Immortal Road, whoever tried to hinder his way, were annihilated, crushed into ashes by his formidable means.
Unaware of how much time had passed.
Ji Chen had gone through countless fierce battles, killing at least dozens to a hundred Quasi-Emperor Level beings.
By now, he was severely weakened—his complexion pale and blood dripped from the corners of his mouth, having suffered numerous injuries from previous battles.
Even so, Ji Chen still gritted his teeth and pressed onward, his eyes resolute, with only one aim—to reach the end of the Ancient Immortal Road.
"Buzz!"
Finally, the endless ancient road revealed its other shore.
After experiencing battle after battle, the ancient road ahead of Ji Chen began to twist.
As if a divine light refracted down, shining upon him.
Ji Chen’s body trembled, the oppressive force enveloping him grew much stronger, completely engulfing his last shred of will, and he could no longer sustain, collapsing where he stood.
...
In a haze, Ji Chen could feel himself moving swiftly.
It was as if he had dreamt a long, long dream, suddenly waking up, sitting upright.
"Huh?"
Scanning his surroundings, Ji Chen quickly realized he was currently lying on a bed in a room.
But this wasn’t a room—it was a large chariot speeding through the void.
On the chariot, he sensed several presences, none were weak; at least at the Great Saint Realm, the strongest surpassed the Reincarnation Emperor Realm.
"What happened?"
Confusion flashed in his eyes, he couldn’t help but mutter to himself, quickly recalling something.
He should have lost consciousness on the Ancient Immortal Road, and upon waking, he found himself on this chariot.
What had transpired in the meantime, Ji Chen was completely unaware.
"Creak!"
Just as he was puzzled, the door to the room suddenly swung open.
Ji Chen grew cautious, his gaze turned, only to see a young woman entering, appearing to be around twenty-five or six years old.
She was dressed in a long white gown, her aura exceedingly distinguished, ethereal to the extreme.
Moreover, from the woman, Ji Chen sensed a powerful aura; this aura made it clear that the young woman’s cultivation was at least at the Quasi-Emperor Realm!
In that instant, Ji Chen fully comprehended.
If his guess was correct, he had likely arrived in the Immortal Realm.
After challenging the Immortal Road, he lost consciousness at the last moment, got swept out by the confusion within the road, fainting somewhere, only to be discovered by a passing group who saved him.
"You’re awake?"
The woman entered and, seeing Ji Chen sitting on the bed, first paused, then her face broke into a smile. "You’re quite lucky; fainting in the Forbidden Land, if we hadn’t discovered you in time, you would’ve been drained of lifespan by the Forbidden Power within."
Forbidden Land?
Ji Chen speculated, thinking it akin to the Lower Realm’s Life Forbidden Area.
He didn’t interrogate further but remained cautious, yet not forgetting to slightly cup his fists towards the woman, saying, "Thank you for saving my life. May I ask the fairy’s name?"
"I am Yao Qian, daughter of the Yao Family in Liu City, Yanzhou."
The woman spoke, introducing herself, then looked at Ji Chen, involuntarily saying, "No need to be so guarded against me. If I intended any harm, why would I save you from the Forbidden Land?"
Her words were true; saving Ji Chen was purely from a kind heart, not wishing to see a life lost in the Forbidden Land.
"If I’m not mistaken, you should’ve just arrived from the Lower Realm Plane to the Immortal Realm?" she spoke again.
Immortal Realm!
Upon hearing this, Ji Chen finally confirmed his current location.
However, he was puzzled, not knowing how Yao Qian discerned it so readily.
Yao Qian smiled, saying, "Your injuries are severe; you likely just passed through the Ancient Immortal Road. Moreover, the Forbidden Land is generally inaccessible, only those who have just emerged from the Ancient Immortal Road into the Immortal Realm appear within."
"In reality, throughout the ages in the Immortal Realm, aside from you, almost every year, some individuals from the Lower Realm succeed in arriving here. It’s not a peculiar occurrence."
"You should continue to rest; I’ve heard the Ancient Immortal Road is perilous, those who make it through face death nine times over. Your injuries are grave, difficult to fully recover in a short period. Once we reach Liu City, whether you stay or leave is entirely up to you; my Yao Family won’t give you any trouble."
With this statement, Yao Qian finally departed, closing the door.
Just as she said, Ji Chen, who passed the Immortal Road, was nearly dead on several occasions.
Though he was awake now, his internal injuries were extremely severe—even with the Hongmeng Body’s strong self-healing ability, it would take a long time to fully recover.
Over the next two days, Ji Chen remained in the room, healing himself.
During this time, Yao Qian visited him daily, merely for simple greetings.
On the third day, when his injuries had recovered about sixty to seventy percent, Ji Chen left the room and entered a hall.
At that moment, Yao Qian was seated here with several elders, seemingly discussing something.
Upon seeing Ji Chen appear, they halted their conversation, smiling as they invited him to sit, asking, "Still, we don’t know the gentleman’s name?"
"I am Ji Chen."
Ji Chen expressed his apology, paying respects to those present, "Thank you to the fairy and everyone for saving my life."
"It was a mere gesture."
Yao Qian waved her hand indifferently.
The elders present, all from the Yao Family, focused their eyes on Ji Chen.
One elderly man, with white hair and beard, spoke, "If the gentleman is no longer in distress, upon reaching Liu City, you may depart as you please."
His words appeared somewhat indifferent, but Ji Chen understood.
After all, to these Yao Family members, he was merely a stranger.
Being rescued from the Forbidden Land was already a great favor.
