Chapter 1697: Sneaking Around

Murong Hai originally wanted to say something, but was directly chased out by Xu Ke.

"You, this guy, have been busy working overtime at the company these days and haven’t had time to properly accompany your girlfriend. I now order you to finish work immediately and go accompany Bai Lan properly. Before Bai Lan has a happy day, you are not allowed to come back to work."

With past lessons learned, Xu Ke paid more attention to the relationship between the two.

He didn’t want Murong Hai to have conflicts with Bai Lan due to work reasons. He already owed Xiao Keyi too much himself, and he didn’t want his brother to follow in his footsteps.

Murong Hai never understood how he was thrown out by Xu Ke until the end.

Anyway, when he appeared in the design department with a bewildered face, Bai Lan was very happy.

After sending Murong Hai away, Xu Ke began to manage the people in the department.

It’s important to know that they have now moved into the new department, but each person has their own work area, so Xu Ke still hasn’t seen them.

Da Bing has mostly completed the personnel selection, but due to some personal reasons, several team members have not arrived.

But seeing the current situation, Xu Ke was very satisfied because he trusted Da Bing very much.

Da Bing is currently busy handling a tech issue he recently encountered. Since he accessed the Xu Group’s backend, he has discovered many vulnerabilities in the company’s system.

Although these vulnerabilities are small, very skilled hackers often exploit these minor vulnerabilities.

Da Bing had attacked such websites before by exploiting these so-called vulnerabilities.

However, due to his techniques not being mature at the time, the utilization of these vulnerabilities was not very high.

But judging by his current skills, he can now perfectly utilize these vulnerabilities.

If a hacker with similar skills were on the attack, they could easily breach the Xu Group’s internal systems through these vulnerabilities.

And as work enters the right track, Da Bing finds it drastically different from his previous life.

Ever since starting work at Xu Group, he realized he was now dealing with things he had never encountered before.

After all, working for a publicly listed group is completely different from tapping away at code at home.

For the first time, Da Bing felt anxious, and for the first time, he felt the heavy burden on his shoulders.

When Xu Ke came in, he gave Da Bing the position of department director, which Da Bing never thought he would become a leader one day.

Despite not having any leadership airs, he knows that once he’s in this position, the responsibilities he holds will be far greater than those of regular employees.

Just like now, these things cannot be handed over to the employees below him.

Moreover, these things are highly confidential to the company; except for himself, almost no other personnel in the company should know.

And since Da Bing joined the company, he has fully taken over all company network issues.

Looking closely at Xu’s Chicken Soup, though it appears glamorous on the surface, there indeed exists significant hidden dangers in terms of network security.

Upon investigation, Xu Ke discovered that over the years, not less than ten top hackers have attacked their website.

It was unknown what method Xu Group used to survive until now, given their outdated underlying logic that can’t keep pace with the times.

During this time, Da Bing has been working extra hours to write a new website for the company. Once this new site is operational, the company’s security will be significantly assured.

Moreover, given current special circumstances, Da Bing saw many previously dormant hackers suddenly emerging on the dark web yesterday.

According to the information he obtained, these hackers seem to be targeting the upcoming new hacker competition.

Reportedly, the rewards for this hacker competition are incredibly rich, even providing direct access to top laboratories in the United States for learning.

Although Da Bing very much wants to participate in the hacker competition, he knows that his current status is no longer suitable.

Besides, the prizes from such hacker competitions hold no meaning for him anymore.

After all, some things can be obtained through technology, while others only come through money.

Having once feared poverty, Da Bing already knows the importance of money in society.

Furthermore, now that he has Liu Yan, naturally, the two of them need to consider their future life together.

Da Bing knows he cannot be alone in the future, so now he has to work harder.

As Da Bing thinks, suddenly the computer screen starts glitching.

He quickly pulls up the backend program, realizing that this has happened more than once.

Such occurrences indicate either there are high-risk vulnerabilities in the backend or the system has been inflicted with a Trojan.

But the latter can be ruled out, given he has been here for so long and had already upgraded the system.

The technology he’s using should be the most advanced globally, and within six months, no hackers should be able to crack it.

Now, the website’s situation can only suggest severe high-risk vulnerabilities in the backend remain.

Da Bing immediately opens another computer, logs into his admin account, and begins probing through the backend.

This bustling effort takes about an hour until Da Bing finally pinpoints the core of the issue.

However, this high-risk vulnerability is even more complex than he expected, and with only himself on hand, dealing with this will take time.

Da Bing immediately drops everything else, dedicating himself wholly to this vulnerability.

Knowing this is Xu Group’s final layer of protection, if breached, all vital information would be exposed.

Such confidential information is, to a publicly listed company, as classified as classified can be.

If many documents representing the company’s future plans were leaked, it could potentially cause fatal harm to the company.

Da Bing understands the weight of the responsibility on his shoulders, so he doesn’t dare to be negligent on this matter.

As time ticks by, gradually, Da Bing finally makes some progress.

He finally understands how the high-risk vulnerability came about.

It turns out, over the years, Xu Group’s website has been operated by a regular company on their behalf.

The strength of this company isn’t substantial, and they mostly rely on readily available resources online.

Most readily available resources online typically come with built-in Trojan programs.

But due to inherent system protection measures, these Trojan programs would get eliminated to some extent. Why is that?
