Seeing Xu Ke laughing on the side, the girl’s face immediately turned red.

“What’s so funny about it? Isn’t that the truth? If you keep wasting time like this, you’ll stay for overtime training today.”

Xu Ke couldn’t hold back anymore and gave the girl a gentle pat on the head.

“Let me tell you, young lady, just look, I’m older than you. I’ve already said, I’m just passing by, I’m not an employee of this company.”

Seeing Xu Ke’s serious demeanor, the girl finally became earnest.

“You’re really not an employee of our company?”

The girl was still somewhat unsure, considering the timing of Xu Ke’s appearance was too coincidental.

He just happened to appear at the entrance of their training department.

“I’m really not an employee of your company. I came this time to talk to your chairman.”

Upon hearing Xu Ke’s words, the girl immediately showed a disdainful expression.

“Yeah, right, here to talk to our chairman. I bet you’re here to find connections and sneak in through the back door.”

The girl’s words almost made Xu Ke choke, prompting him to quickly take a swig of his water.

After a while, Xu Ke recovered. He didn’t expect the girl to be so articulate.

At that moment, an idea popped into Xu Ke’s mind.

He could inquire a bit about the current situation of the company from this girl.

After all, what he heard from their CEO might be one thing, but what’s heard from the grassroots employees could be entirely different.

“How many times do I have to say it for you to believe? I really am here to find your chairman. I’m not an employee of your company; I just happened to pass by.”

No matter what Xu Ke said, the girl was convinced he was bluffing.

“Alright, alright, I don’t care what you’re here for. Since you’re not here for training, don’t waste my time. It’s really strange, nobody came to the training department today.” After saying this, the girl sat on the floor, dejected.

The girl’s emotional change was so drastic that Xu Ke’s curiosity was piqued.

So, he sat down on the ground beside her, quietly watching the girl in front of him.

Being stared at by Xu Ke like this, the girl was uncomfortable all over, and soon her face turned red again.

“Why are you like this, staring at a girl like that?”

Xu Ke realized his actions must have led to a misunderstanding, so he quickly explained.

“I wasn’t, really. I’m just very curious. Why is it so crowded in the other training departments, but you’re the only one here?”

When Xu Ke arrived, he had already seen many training departments with lines of employees, but the girl’s department was completely empty.

Xu Ke’s words brought down the girl’s spirits instantly.

“Don’t bring up that nonsense, it just makes me upset.”

From the girl’s words, Xu Ke saw that there was clearly an underlying story.

He really wanted to know what had happened to make the girl so distressed.

“What’s going on? Tell me. Maybe I can help.”

The girl never trusted Xu Ke from the start, but hearing his words made her want to vent.

“Alright, alright, since you want to know, I’ll tell you anyway, just to unload.”

Through conversation, Xu Ke learned that the girl in front of him was named Liu Ping. Her colleagues and family usually called her Little Apple.

Little Apple had been with Red Star Group for several years, climbing from a grassroots employee to her current position as a team leader.

Since becoming a team leader, Little Apple had been working even harder than before.

She was often the first to arrive and the last to leave the office.

Every time there was new employee training, she would always be the first to step forward.

Gradually, her actions started to agitate many company employees.

It’s well known that in their line of work, salary is tied to performance, and performance is directly proportional to the number of trainees you supervise.

In other words, the more trainees you have, the higher your salary.

Recently, due to her enthusiasm, many new employees came to her for training.

With new employees flocking to her, naturally, there were fewer people seeking other employees.

This quickly led to dissatisfaction among many employees, including one who was related to a supervisor.

Exploiting his status, he pressured Little Apple to reassign all the trainees under her to several old employees.

At first, Little Apple was unwilling, but after several talks with the supervisor, she had no choice.

This led to almost no new employees seeking her out in the past month.

Whenever a new employee came to the company, they were immediately taken to that supervisor’s relative.

Yesterday, Little Apple finally managed to arrange training for two new employees, who promised to come by noon.

Unexpectedly, it was almost one o’clock, and the two employees still hadn’t shown up.

In her anxiety, she went out and ran into Xu Ke, mistaking him for a new employee.

At that moment, Little Apple also saw on her phone that those two new employees had been poached by the supervisor’s relative.

After hearing about Little Apple’s plight, Xu Ke felt deep sympathy for her.

He didn’t expect someone so diligent to be treated this way.

Why should hard-working people suffer injustice? Why should hard-working people be rejected by the world?

Xu Ke couldn’t stand things like this; he felt parasites like that shouldn’t exist in the company.

Xu Ke decided to help Little Apple in this matter.

Though he currently had no connection with Red Star Group, he knew that if he wanted to, he could certainly speak up within the company.

“Little Apple, don’t be upset. Leave this matter to me, and I’ll make sure you can return to your previous life.”

Xu Ke’s words cheered up Little Apple a bit, though she believed Xu Ke was likely just comforting her.

If Xu Ke truly possessed such ability, why would he appear in a place like this?

Just then, two plump women suddenly walked in.

Upon seeing them, Little Apple’s expression immediately changed.

These two women saw Little Apple and immediately flashed a sneer.

“Well, well, isn’t this Little Apple? I remember your department used to be bustling with employees, how come now there’s only one left? Doesn’t make sense! There shouldn’t be anyone left in your department. Kid, didn’t your department supervisor tell you that as soon as you join the company, you should immediately report to me?”

Clearly, this woman mistook Xu Ke for a new employee.

In her eyes, every new employee had to come to her for training, and she wouldn’t allocate even one to Little Apple.
